First time watching you, Bob, and you are epically awesome! Your reactions are the absolute best! I adore Snarky Puppy. They are truly something extremely special and remarkable. Their song, Lingus, typically moves me to tears because of how utterly extraordinary it is. I am a very happy new subscriber of yours! 😊👍😊
7:37 that really speaks to the mastery of Nate Werth imo (and good mixing). Larnell is primarily doing tom fills with kick bass but Nate's insane percussion slides in so well that it feels like one person. To me this song is a percussionist masterclass and really highlights how having a great percussionist can take a song to a whole other level
Larnell does have a way of overtaking the whole thing. I’ll go back and check out what Nate is doing. I’m Sure he’s a beast too. All of these guys are. Thanks Brandon!
You should definitely check out their whole Sylva concert. Snarky Puppy and Metropole Orkest get together to make some fantastic music. The Curtain specifically left me completely awed when I heard it for the first time... still does, to be honest.
Yes - Trumpet is getting that effect of partial valve closure & you can see it at a couple of points thanks to the great video work. As a horn player I am just blown away.
The soloist on trumpet was Justin Stanton who also is a featured keyboardist. These guys are ALL extremely talented musicians but when you get a chance go back and listen to percussionist Nate Werth and how he is literally locked in with Larnell Lewis' drumming. He compliments every rhythmic and instrument choice Larnell makes; listen for yourself. Thanks for the reaction video. Snarky Puppy is one of my all-time favorite groups.
Man I am loving the musicianship these guys have. They are clearly one of thr most talented groups around. I’ve got to see them live when they come around. I missed seeing Bob Reynolds back in 2020. He was supposed to be at Slippery Rock for the Jazz Festival that my son was playing in with his high School Jazz Band. It would have been nice to see him. Thanks for watching!
@Bob Cieslinski as others have said, their live shows are TOTALLY DIFFERENT from their album performances. I have seen them live twice during the Culcha Vulcha and Immigrance tours. The lineup was different each time as were the performances. Great performances for sure... but much different than the album. Worth every penny though! Thanks again for the review/reaction videos. 👍
Oh wow! Now I'm going to have to add them to my list. Thank you so much for bringing this video to our attention. They will certainly become one of my favorites for easy listening. Peace and bright blessings.
Love this reaction! I’m a huge Snarkypuppy fan so I would love for you to react to either sleeper, outlier, or jambone from this album they’re all equally amazing!
One of my very faves - you are once again weaving through the back recesses of my mind. You mention the trumpet soloist half-valving. I incidentally do this on saxophone. Takes a lot of breath support to sound good (I don't always haha). But fun certainly to have that deep 'scooping up' effect, moreso than can be done simply with embochure.
Really enjoying your Snarky Puppy reactions and found them very positive and informative, you get a subscribe. This is what I like about listening to many different reactions to the same song, I learn different information each time from each person’s area of expertise. Also I can never watch these Snarky Puppy sessions too many times ;)
I was already loving your reactions to Pentatonix, then I saw you reacting to Snarky Puppy and Dirty Loops and just had to subscribe. Well done, keep up the amazing work!
This whole record is amazing, but outside of it I suggest checking out Atchafalaya from their record Sylvia, and Quarter Master from their record GroundUP
It still is incalculable to me that Larnell learned this album ON THE FLIGHT OVER. I’ve seen SP more than once live and this track is either their closer or in the encore. My intro to SP was “Don’t You Know” featuring wunderkind Jacob Collier from Family Dinner Vol. 2. If you really want to see Nate Worth in his element, check out “Alma”, one of their first video performances

For sure Moses! Nice observations.
I've seen this many times and performed live, it's become sort of an anthem for them. Always had a thing for the cello player.
It's hard not to with such a cute and expresive face pal. We all have a thing for that cello player tbh. 😂
As amazing as Larnell is, 7:33 really showcases how Nate Werth (percussion) sneakily adds to what Larnell is doing.

Yeah that was so awesome hearing and seeing that with these guys. Always has an amazing sound when they do that.super cool that you are a horn player.

No problem Marie. These guys are incredible and so much fun to listen to. The peopl in this community have some great suggestions for us all.
As a former trumpet player, I love when he does the little trumpet wah sound at 4:35 by not fully pressing down on the valve. It's so slick
It is slick just giving it a unique and distinct sound. Thanks for commenting Kaiser.
Love this reaction! I’m a huge Snarkypuppy fan so I would love for you to react to either sleeper, outlier, or jambone from this album they’re all equally amazing!
Thanks for thr suggestions and thr Outlier reaction is out now. Hope you saw it.
I absolutely love this song. Reminds me so much of Chuck Mangione.
Good one Jeff!
Great. Now I need to write letters to Mike League until they cover “Feels So Good” 😁
@@xodiaq I would be all about that!

Hey that’s cool you use it in sax!
i’m loving your reactions! one of my favorites by snarky puppy is kite.
Thanks for the kind words. I’ll have to check that one out.
I love this band. I wish I could play in their trumpet section. They're all great.
Sounds good maybe I can do sax and we can play together.

Thanks Lydia for the kind words!
I don't play any instruments, nor can I read or understand music, but this takes me to a familiar yet distant place!
I was lucky enough to see this song live this week! Truly an amazing experience.
I was already loving your reactions to Pentatonix, then I saw you reacting to Snarky Puppy and Dirty Loops and just had to subscribe. Well done, keep up the amazing work!
Thanks R! I appreciate the sub!

Thanks for thr suggestions Merrick!
Got my tickets to see them here in Miami live on Feb 13th. I just cannot wait!
Wow so lucky Lee! I hope to see them one day myself.
Did you notice....the horn soloist is the keyboard player who starts Lingus off? ;-)
Sleeper next?
I missed it Miff thanks for letting me know.
@@bobcieslinski talkbox in Sleeper....nudge nudge wink wink 😁

I’ve got Don’t you know coming out soon. Larnell blows me away too.
Woaaaah! You should definitely check out "Outlier" by Snarky Puppy. One of my favorites! The Sax is unbelievable!
Pandemonium that video is out now. Thanks for thr suggestion and you were right. Bob Reynolds killed it on that solo.
This song is great I think!! 😃Will be interesting to hear your reaction!
Would love to see some reactions to Owane. I think you would enjoy the video: Jack & Owane - U.T.F.F. feat Henrik Linder (from Dirty Loops)
Hey Thomas ! Thanks for thr cup of coffee donation! I finished the video and I will be posting it soon. Good call on that one.
Oh my. Think of the sound engineer(s). Everybody have headsets. You can't hide anything. And how many microphones are there to control and mix?
Good point Lars. It seems like a nightmare to me.
you should react to The Omnific
Song Title: Antecedent (ft. Clay Gober, bassist for Polyphia)
you will not regret it.....
Hey thanks for thr suggestion. That video will be out soon.
Michael League came up with this groove by mis-hearing a Tunisian song. Even his mistakes are musical.
oh i would appreciate if you could provide me where you read Michael was inspired by the Tunisian song, i want to know which one it is!
@@pnpem It's in the documentary footage that comes with the album. At least when you buy the CD, which comes with a DVD.
@@CraigGood i see, thanks alot.
Wow that’s an interesting story Craig thanks for sharing!
Somewhat reminiscent of Don Ellis…
