I’m sure if the Titanic didn’t sink from upon hitting the iceberg, it would’ve sank upon being torpedoed by a German U-Boat just like the Britannic, Lusitania, and Carpathia were.
@@sdmedia1323 No, it would be after Britannic. Because Lusitania sank in 18 minutes, so fast, and she listed to starboard side so badly (angle of 20 degrees at some point) that they only could launch 4 boats safely. So it wouldn't have mattered how many boats there were. Her crew was badly trained as well.... as was Titanic's. Actually the number of lifeboats on Titanic didn't matter that much either. They took ages to launch them whilst it could've been done in less than an hour, (so 1:25 A.M., since the first boat left at 12:25 A.M, yet they struggled to get the last 2 collapsibles ready in time and then the sea already came over the bridge and washed them off.
If the Titanic never sank, then there may not have been the necessary changes to the Laws of the Sea, such as all ships maintaining constant radio communication or ships having enough lifeboats to accommodate the entire ship.

If Titanic had survived, she would've had only two years at sea during peacetime before she would probably have been repurposed as either a troop transport or a hospital ship like her sister ships were. So even if the Titanic had survived the iceberg there is still a strong possibility that she would've met a similar fate to either the Britannic, Carpathia or Lusitania. In another timeline Titanic possibly might've shared the fate of the ship that rescued her passengers in real life. Think on that for a second.

A nice thought, but without the Titanic's sinking there would have been none of the development that have no doubt saved lives over the decades such as Mandatory 24/7 staffing of the communication centres, mandatory lifeboat drills for everyone on board and, perhaps most important, lifeboat requirements according to the number of people on board.

@8:43, the likelihood of follow on vessels having enough lifeboats for all passengers is very unlikely since it was the sinking of the Titanic that brought to light the lack of lifeboats and complete disregard for life when it came to third class passengers. The sinking actually helped to bring about changes in society.
Well, even if there weren’t enough lifeboats in 1912 if she never sank, new laws would be drawn up in either 1914 or 1916 after the Lusitania and Britannic disasters. Without enough lifeboats on them, they would’ve simply taken Titanic’s place in history.
It would be great if you could do a video about the Wilhelm Gustloff! It’s the worst ship disaster in all history (9,400 people died). If you could do a video on that, I would be so happy because there aren’t many videos of it on UA-cam for it is super underrated.

Titanic was torpedoed and sunk by U-21 on 14 April 1917. She still had insufficient lifeboat capacity. The ship sank in 2h40”. About 700 passengers were saved, but 1500 went down with the ship.
Ok one thing when he said how everyone cheered when Titanic missed the ice burg. The ship did hit it and the impact was bearly felt. Passengers didn't even think it was necessary to leave the ship. Im almost positive no one would have a clue besides the crew that saw the close call.
@@isuckatthesegames7119 I don’t think it would of had it sank, see the sinking MADE the Olympic class liners famous. Well at least worldwide fame anyways. I agree that it probably would of been scrapped like it’s sister Olympic. Sad really :(
I think if it never sank, it would have served like the Olympic did and then been scraped around the late 1930's as it seems around that time, ships had about a 25 year useful life. HOwever, I think in terms of life-boat safety, it would have taken another sinking to drive that home and require a seat on a lifeboat for every person on the ship, and not base it based on tonnage (ship weight) alone.
RMS Olympic is truly unsinkable. The first of the trio survived a 1911 collision with HMS Hawke of the royal navy, tried to save titanic and HMS Audacious that struck a mine, rammed and sank SM U-103, survived a collision with the fort st. george(formerly HMAT Wandilla) and Nantucket lightship 117. She was finally scrapped in 1935-37
But the helmsman didnt steer incorrectly, they used tiller commands so to turn away from the iceberg the tiller was turned towards it to turn the ships rudder such a way that would steer the ship away from it
Sadly, what they did not know then, but SHOULD HAVE, is that you NEVER reverse the engines when attempting an emergency turn. All that did was render the rudder useless as the water was rolling around it much like boiling water on a stove. As close as the Titanic was and as fast as she was going it might not have made that much difference but we'll never know.
Violet Jessop survived the collisions of all three Olympic-class liners: Olympic with HMS Hawke in 1911, Titanic's sinking in 1912, and HMHS Britannic's mining and sinking in 1916.

From my research, the crew didn't have binoculars to see the iceberg right ahead of them.
Fun fact they did, but they we’re looked in a room because a Crew member had to go Home and he had looked The room and forgot The Keys so they never Got to use The binoculars so they didnt spot The iceberg in time.

Just a small historic point - White Star Line's headquarters were in Liverpool, not London.
That’s not relevant. Headquarters wasn’t involved where the ship was docked.
@@2004cyrus With respect, it is relevant because the video itself states that White Star's Headquarters was in London. That is factually incorrect.
Until the 1930s, when White Star line merged with Cunard, the White Star Line's offices were in Liverpool.
And the ship was docked in Southampton and registered to Liverpool.

Violet Jessop didn't survive 3 ship wrecks as the RMS Olimpic never sank, she was stuck by the HMS Hawk and was badly wounded but never sank and made it back to Southampton for repairs. Violet survived 2 ship wrecks and a ship collision.
Your right, but she is still *MISS UNSINKABLE* .
It’s crazy a ship wreck is still being talked about so actively 108 years later.
If that Berg was a few metres to right nobody would ever have really known about it.

Titanic was never called unsinkable
-Jack and rose were actually fictional characters, Joseph Dawson was a boiler room worker on the ship.
-Empire State Building would’ve never been built since a passenger doesn’t sell his nyc hotel.
-We wouldn’t even care about the Titanic because it would’ve been used during WWI and maybe WWII and we would just read of its history as a warship.
-Ships would not have as many lifeboats as it does now due to no event causing the regulation.
This is just some of the few things that would change.
Then Rose was sadly thrown over the rail and me never seen again

That would only happen if Rose didn’t meet Jack. The main topic is "If titanic didn’t hit the iceberg"
Then Leonardo de Caprio wont become a meme
@8:43, the likelihood of follow on vessels having enough lifeboats for all passengers is very unlikely since it was the sinking of the Titanic that brought to light the lack of lifeboats and complete disregard for life when it came to third class passengers. The sinking actually helped to bring about changes in society.
Underrated comment
Titanic didn’t disregard 3rd class passengers neither did it have a lack of lifeboats, those are just myths
Well, even if there weren’t enough lifeboats in 1912 if she never sank, new laws would be drawn up in either 1914 or 1916 after the Lusitania and Britannic disasters. Without enough lifeboats on them, they would’ve simply taken Titanic’s place in history.
@@sdmedia1323 now that is a very fair assessment and a valid point of view I hadn't considered before. Thanks for the engagement.

True.
Still heart is beating for Titanic 💙💙
Titanic was torpedoed and sunk by U-21 on 14 April 1917. She still had insufficient lifeboat capacity. The ship sank in 2h40”. About 700 passengers were saved, but 1500 went down with the ship.
Excuse you?
that's mixing the Britannic's sinking reason and Titanic's tally count

Ok one thing when he said how everyone cheered when Titanic missed the ice burg. The ship did hit it and the impact was bearly felt. Passengers didn't even think it was necessary to leave the ship. Im almost positive no one would have a clue besides the crew that saw the close call.

She was finally scrapped in 1935-37
She really was
0:13 never did that to the boat
Is no one going to talk about how he sank it the wrong way? 5:04
