They were right about sui not expanding to the right when that player got taken out and leaving it all to lime to scoop up - team 1 has been smart about gathering mass and that did team 2 in in the end.
There was a situational awareness brain fart from Team 1 around when emperor penguin died. Lime had just gotten strat bombed and had to ask for air support twice, which means that team 2 is air dominant. That was NOT the time to go walking into an enemy base with no AA
That was a beautiful rise of the Titans by Limes, fully utilizing all of their strengths! Picking off tons of T1, going in and out, replenishing shields in between and whenever something showed up that could beat it they shifted to the next target.
Hi, I only played Supreme Commander briefly back in the day but I love these vids! I'd like to see a bit more FPS on a unit in battle, just here and there.

Can anyone explain to me why noone ever build air staging? They do repair aircrafts really quick, AND refuel them. It won't matter for t1 and t2, but, say, retreated t3 bomber would really benefit from it.
It does use resources to use air staging, sometimes its just better to take what you can get from your high value runs and let it die attempting another. They will be prepared for it once its done repairing, and it will just be a waste then.
for the same reason you ctrl K an exp and build another one instead of repairing them. Its actually more resource and time efficient to let things die and build new ones since repairs are not free.

Literally in this game the air players opened with first air lol, in a normal game you can do it too if you go all in on first bomber strategy or sometimes a very early transport
There's also the Cybran Jester rush opening strat. I've been wanting to see in one of these games if it'd be possible for a team of 6 to 8 to all open with that and manage to snipe a super early com kill off of it (obviously against the highest rated opponent). Alas, it'd require a level of team coordination that's never been in much evidence, certainly in larger team games.

Does anybody have any idea what mods these players are running? I cant find just the t3 air land units in anything but total mayhem and i dont want a millon other units just whats allowed in competative games?

The first three deaths in this game were so unnecessary lol sometimes I wonder if these players possess a mini-map or are addicted to putting their commander on the front line unnecessarily to score an adrenaline high or something. For 2100 players I'm surprised Lime wasn't more aware he was wildly over-extended and that Okpuck decided he needed to go on vacation to oversee an active battlefront for... no reason at all that I can discern. 37:58 is the highlight for me just seeing T1 air scout wrecks bounce off shields is so satisfying. I can understand why team 2 hated Sui though.
I think Wesh is right. Strat bombers looked way to strong here. A lot of HP, decent speed and bulky armor. He basically was getting free kills everytime he was diving into their base.
i'm with wesh on the 2k bomber strats, this is kinda sad to get killed by strat bomber spam in lategame like this, a delicate nerf would be apropriate imo
That being said, having that many strats to throw away AND enough ASFs to dominate the opposing air outright usually means you're much better off economically than your opponent, and you can defeat them with simple attrition tactics like bomber swarms. Besides, if you're going to pour that much eco into artillery it's a good idea to diversify your air superiority into air and land, and I think the lack of land-based anti-aircraft weapons was his biggest problem, since static and mobile T3 AA can't just be overrun by ASFs. If only his teammates had kept back some of their T3 AA spam, the game might've gone differently, but as it was when they pushed their mobile AA down the middle with their experimentals they opened their flanks to air assault, and team 2 capitalized on it to great effect. But overall the most probable decisive factor was the eco difference. While bottom had to fall back on artillery to hit back at top's base, top had the material wealth to simply overwhelm bottom's defenses with bombers.

I love turtling and artillery, so believe me I'm not one of those turds who whine and complain that standoff tactics sometimes work better than mixed-army attacks, but the sheer disparity of economic power combined with effective use of scouting and flanking maneuvers are what gave the bombers the edge. Quite simply, if Wesh had put some of that arty money into T3 AA ground units, he'd have been virtually untouchable due to how brutally disproportionate they are for firepower vs. cost against ASF and bombers.

well what do you know....another game where it seemed like it was gonna be exciting and close between the teams only to have it once again be decided by a strat bomber hoard.....every game nearly ends like this now it seems...every long game anyway, 10/10 great cast but 1/10 for gameplay lol.
Not as lame as turtling + standoff tactics. Strats are still an active move, with countermeasures available to the enemy without them having to prevail over your home base. Standoff is just passively sitting there building up until you can overpower their shields.
Yet another idiot player that offs himself at the start. That's already gotten old. Is it that I just keep picking the ones that have some dumb player doing it or is it really so common for there to be someone who cant help themselves and dont know how to retreat till they're in red? Even when he went to move away he did it horizontally straight to another enemy encampment with another player welcoming him to death. Also dont know why that team 2 player made a single strat bomber and sent it against a shield uselessly to let him know to start building anti air.

They're probably trying to earn veterancy for extra survivability during late game. Bit harder to get it via T2+ units.

well what do you know....another game where it seemed like it was gonna be exciting and close between the teams only to have it once again be decided by a strat bomber hoard.....every game nearly ends like this now it seems...every long game anyway, 10/10 great cast but 1/10 for gameplay lol.
do you expect every game to end as a t3 landbased slog, back and forth for hours on end? its not like theres no defence against strat snipe

I hate strat snipes... its like a cheap shot.
Not as lame as turtling + standoff tactics. Strats are still an active move, with countermeasures available to the enemy without them having to prevail over your home base. Standoff is just passively sitting there building up until you can overpower their shields.

Yet another idiot player that offs himself at the start. That's already gotten old. Is it that I just keep picking the ones that have some dumb player doing it or is it really so common for there to be someone who cant help themselves and dont know how to retreat till they're in red?
Even when he went to move away he did it horizontally straight to another enemy encampment with another player welcoming him to death.
Also dont know why that team 2 player made a single strat bomber and sent it against a shield uselessly to let him know to start building anti air.
I d like more arbitrary team names like Flat Earthers vs New World Order. Team 1 and 2 is so old fashioned
