I used gold hog mats in a 2 1/2 dredge and now I have a 4 inch and I’m watching this video trimming my old mats for my new dredge.... hope they work as good in my big dredge as good as they did in my little one

Great info, thanks. To increase the gravity variable, I wonder if it's possible to use a
horizontal wheel and spin it to force the heavier material outward, similar to a
    centrifuge.

When that big rock tumbles down and out of the sluice doesn't it disrupt the water flow and take the gold out of the ripples with it?

"Larger rocks never enter into the exchange process." I disagree with that. Every size rock or gravel of a distinct mass will generate unwanted negative pressure and turbulances which make the matting inefficient. Example: Spread a bucket full of brown leafes over the ground and let run a bowling ball over them. Same princible.
