That sounds truly heart-wrenching. But being a first responder is really about being able to work through those moments. It sounds like you did just that. It's a tough line of work and sometimes people forget we're all human. Hope he was okay and thanks for all your amazing work as a paramedic 💪

I had one in my doctor's surgery, and the nurses took me to a quiet room, and didn't leave me alone until I had calmed down. I had one recently in a busy cafe, as my sister and i were leaving, and the first she did was make me sit down, and when the worst had passed, she took my arm, and helped me down the stairs.

I reckon you guys need to do a special film showing how to swim at the beach and what not to do so that it can be played on incoming international flights! It's got to be like a mandatory film like the safety demo on the flight. It won't help all but it might help some. It should show what happens if you swim outside the yellow and red flags and some rescues of the worst kind, ie, someone who almost drowned. (With that person's permission of course!)
@@soldejanero-y9q You can see the rips, wave sets and the space between them. Smooth water in between breaks and around gutters are what you usually look for. As well as foam and drag on the water surface So flags are basically as far from the rips and rough surf.
That poor mum getting told off by her daughter for causing a scene. I hope the daughter doesn't find herself in the same situation as her mum's in the future. No empathy at all. Mum was properly scared. Where's the heart, the concern at least?

Lifeguards look for the safest area of the beach and lay down the flags, the flags can change during the day as well due to danger
