There are 5 host singers who appear every week for 12/13 weeks. Zhou Shen is one of these host singers.
Every 3 episoles, there are some new singer participants who may choose and be choosen to collaborate with the five host singers.
Every week, the 'judges' pick the best song they like and call it golden song. Every three weeks they pick the best song and call it the 'most recommended' song. Why they do that, I am not too also.
This song won the 'most recommended' song award for these three weeks.

It's implied but not stated outright (because it wouldn't pass the TV censors) that they changed their choice of song to this one as a response to a recent incident in China. About a lady in Shanghai who paid 200RMB tips for a delivery guy to go the extra mile in delivering food to her aged father and posted about it on social media as a heartwarming story, but then got attacked by flamers on the internet, and ended up committing suicide over the cyberbullying.
Before the performance, when explaining his reason for choosing this song, Zhou Shen said to the effect of: "If it was just about public figures, I wouldn't have done this performance. But in today's society, there are a lot of normal people getting affected by cyberbullying. And I want to bring strength to these people."
I really cant believe how this people can be that bad!? After that suicide how they cant feel responsible of that lost life. I will never understand this hate.
@@coffeereaction It might not even be purposeful hate directed at the person. Often it could be people who are using the anonymity offered by the internet to say things they never would in in real life. Or it could also be people who don't get how hurtful their comments could be, especially when added together in a mob, and directed at normal people who aren't prepared for the sudden attention from the masses.

From "Rose Boy" to "Under Investigation" to "The Thief", Zhou Shen has been using music to do what a public figure should do. The most terrifying thing is not that bad people violate morality, but that a group of people who claim to be righteous challenge the bottom line of morality with the banner of justice. The Internet Tribunal is really scary. Both for public figures and for us in general. I hope everyone who listens to this song can reflect on themselves. It is always easy to criticize others, but how many people can really reflect on whether they have ever been "Internet moral judges"?

This is the thing I love about Chinese music. It is not only about the music, the lyric and the message delivered by the artist are always very meaningful.
And of course, Zhou Shen's performance is as wonderful as always, he never ceases to surprise. Also the voices of these two are in contrast but match together sooo well. I'll have never enough of Zhou Shen :-)

The high pitch ending made ZhouShen’s voice hoarse，he said there are many ways to avoid this but in this song they need to shout their genuine attitude to the audience.

ZhouShen said that if cyberbullying just focus on public figures there’s no need to sing this song here. But the truth is that almost everyone is abused daily more or less.So he has to sing this song in the stage to tell people don’t care about the negative voice. This song is an original song written by Penny Dai (a female Malaysian singer-songwriter).
It's probably different because he collaborated with Hu Yanbin. Everyone who collaborates with him will tend to go out of their comfort zone and challenge new things. Hu Yanbin is famous for doing all his own song arrangments on these shows in interesting ways (as well as writing new music & lyrics into the songs). If you look at the credits at the beginning, you'll see his name everywhere ^^ The band used in this show is also from his company. HYB likes to infuse future bass/electronic elements into rock, and that's probably why it reminds you of Eurovision ^^ He debuted in 2002 when he was 17, so this year is HYB's 20th year in the industry.
