It’s a very well thought out vehicle especially in 2LT. No make omissions. It’s a great everyday car that happens to be electric without screaming I’M ELECTRIC! ha.
Great overview! I have a Blazer EV and love it. Someone pointed out that Apple recently allowed people to link their Apple Music playlists to UA-cam music playlists. I did that and now my Apple Music is on my UA-cam music app 👍👍
Thanks for the review! I've been considering an Equinox EV to replace my Leaf. I loved the no nonsense style you used and how well you presented the information. Well done 👍
We had a LEAF for 3 years. The most reliable car we had. Zero service visits. Perfect appliance. Just wished they updated the fast charging and battery cooling. Thank you for the kind words.
Great video Darren! We have been thinking of replacing our gas Equinox with a Blazer EV or Equinox EV. We have been very happy with our Volt and it was car to get us in the thought process of owning a EV.
Personally I think the Equinox is a better overall than the Blazer but there are crazy deals out there. Classic Elite in Houston has a 2 year Blazer lease for $6999 one paycheck out several thousand off. If you qualify for the tax credit either one can be a heck of a deal.
I test drove both and definitely went with the equinox EV over the blazer EV. Unfortunately, the offer I received for an equinox RS two was nowhere as good as Darren‘s offer. So I went with a different car.
Great video, very in depth. I’m a huge car guy, not huge into electric cars but still interested and appreciate them. I have a gen 1 raptor but really liked seeing your ioniq 5 and bolt ev videos. This seems like a great daily / commuter car, serves its purpose well. - Harrison
I was looking at another video related to Equinox and youtube brought me to you. Great video. Very imformative. Especially on what you take on features are. I have a Tesla and Nissan Ariya anc can relate how range and actual miles are off. Your lease deal is awesome but we won't qualify for many of your discounts. Will still consider the Equinox as Tesla quality hasn't gotten better and Nissan treats the Ariya as a stepchild. BTW, love the t-shirt. My son was waitlisted but it ended well.
My family has 2 teslas a Model Y and I have a Model 3. Mom just picked up an all black 2RS AWD! It's a great commuter car and feels more upscale than the price. There were a lot of incentives as well which made it super affordable!
I watched this and pulled the trigger on a 2LT that I got six days ago and got a deal for around $5400 because of incentives. So far it feels like a steal.
Have the gas powered LT AWD for a company car. Range is about the same for a full tank of gas. Interior has similarities in seats. Comfortable car with no complaints. Pretty solid. Hope you enjoy yours.
Loved this video. A+ for effort. Yup making videos is really hard, and is quite time consuming. At any rate ... $187 a month?! That's awesome! What kind of charging do you have at home?
We have 2 - 220 connections. One for the Teslas and one for every other EV. The generic one was installed free by GM with my previous Bolt. Thanks for the kind words.
Darren, great review. Thanks for sharing. I think the Equinox EV is definitely a car I will consider as my next car. Like the design (except for the blue interior accent...agree it would be weird AF to have a red car with Blue Accent inside...what were they thinking!!!!...I wish they had kept it neutral and let the ambient lighting do the "talking" at night,,,,I'm jussayin...). And I think it's a good value for the money given the range. I wish I could choose the built in Garage Opener Option without going for the 3LT/3RS trim. And I wish it had a cargo cover to block the sun and the view inside the "trunk". Also wish it had a HUD.
Great video. Do you recommend this over tesla? How is the freeway comfort compared to tesla? (Adaptive cruise, etc). Also, how does the sound system compare to tesla?
It’s an alternative. Better in some ways and worse in others. The ride is smoother in the Chevy. Adaptive cruise isn’t as good as it won’t start from a stop without intervention. I don’t have super cruise. Audio system is just adequate. Nothing spectacular or even “great”.
I really appreciate your comments considering the number of other EVs you've owned. I had a 2014 LEAF until it got totaled almost 2 years ago (my son was driving, beyond air bag burns he was shaken but OK). Been thinking about another EV, but haven't really done much looking yet.
Our 2013 LEAF ( can always tell a real owner when LEAF is capitalized) was the most reliable vehicle we ever owned. Zero days in the shop for our 3 year lease.
@@geekontheflightdeck Absolutely! Ours was 8 years old and had only lost one bar in 46K miles. Never needed anything beyond Cabin Air Filters and a set of tires. We miss it dearly!
It was purely financial. I would spend $15K over the next 28 months on the Ioniq or $4478 for 24 months on the Equinox. Being a secondary car it didn’t make sense. Carmax oddly is listing it for $42998 which is more than I paid for it!
I have a couple of EVs-will likely buy or replace one of them in about a year. 2 cars I’m strongly considering are the Cadillac Optiq-coming out in about 6 months or the Rivian R1s. Dual Max. Any thoughts?
I want to get this exact car. Got a letter in the mail saying I was approved for their 0.9% interest rate for 24 or 36 months Idk what the payment would be but I’m not looking to pay more than 550 a month on a lease
Looks like a great car but why did they get rid of the active camera on the rearview mirror ( my 2020 Bolt Premier has that ) and why just one window ( driver side ) auto up/down ? Most other car manufacturers have ALL windows auto up/down.
Thanks for the video. I have a gas 2022 Chevy Equinox, though I like the styling and the features, the engine is terrible. I was hoping that Chevy’s EV selections would be a little quicker but I feel like I wouldn’t gain anything in terms of acceleration going from a gas Equinox to an EV Equinox. I ended up getting a used Model Y and I enjoy it. I wish it had Apple CarPlay, but I’m trying to get over that 😆. I’m hoping that the SS EV Blazer will be what I’m looking for in terms of speed.
I paid the full lease on one payment. The $187 is my total payment divided by 24. If I wanted monthly payments it would have been $207 a month zero down in Texas
Why do you get money off from previous leases? In the Uk when you lease a car you hand it back and that’s the end, it goes to the auction. Some manufactures offer loyalty pricing which may take off £30 a month but that’s about it if you use them as the funder.
I clicked on the thumbnail of Doug demuro on the Doug demuro Channel and got this guy. There's got to be something super weird about this like red details on the interior come on the wheels are big, they didn't need to be that big, that blue paint probably has some name other than blue, that's weird, controls very similar to a gas car...weird!
Nope. I am able to take advantage of it through leasing. It’s a back door way of getting it. You can lease a car, get the $7500 through manufacturer support (every EV is eligible this way) then buy it out the next day.
@@geekontheflightdeck Are you saying that they took it off the cost of the lease? I looked at the price sheet you showed but I didn't see a -7500 on the cost list.
Incorrect....I paid for the lease in full. I have no further payments. If the car is totaled GM Leases prorate the leases and I get the unused months back.
I think you’re confusing numbers. Which cars charge at 400/800? There’s 400/800 bolt architecture but that’s not charging speed. Almost as important is the charging curve. How long does it sustain peak speeds.
@geekontheflightdeck Both Porsche and Kia can charge at 800 about 270kwh. My Model P90D charges at 200. Geeley makes cars that charge at 550 sustained.
Love my Equinox EV. And I didn't have a problem on one long range trip to Upper MI. Smooth sailing.

The 1st review of seen that covers the cost Greatly appreciated thank you
An EV that normal people can almost afford. Great review.

Thanks for keeping it real.

Glad you showed the mi/kwh Pretty bad even with a headwind imo. Should get 3.5ish mi/kwh. What is the efficiency issue?
It’s rated for 3.5 flat no wind. Throw in headwind, climbing elevation and air conditioner use….

Nice review Darren. I am curious what made you get away from the Ioniq 5 (which is my current EV and really like it).

Time for a Rivian, have had Tesla S, 2 X's, Mercedes EQS, and Porsche Taycan, My Rivian is my favorite!
I ordered an S. Gave up waiting after over a year. Maybe next time. I do have a deposit for a R2 for the wife.

I work a tech at a Chevrolet dealer here in dfw doing my flight training. Honestly those ev equinox are nice but i like the blazers a bit better
It’s bigger but that motorized charge port door is unnecessary and clunky. Thankfully they fixed all of the software issues that soured the launch.

Do you know if it is an aluminum body or not? Thanks
The side body panels are NOT aluminum.
Pocket casts ... Can the car switch between user profiles? My wife has her podcast queue and I have mine. I can see a fight brewing. :)
With different driver profiles yep
@@geekontheflightdeck Awesome! Thanks.
What dealership is this? I am in NTX, and thinking about this vehicle. (You drove by my area to get to that casino.)
Classic in Grapevine. I went thru internet sales. Crappy sales experience but fine.
Doug sleeping. The early bird gets the worm.
I test drove this. The back seat is cavernous for the size
He’s hanging out in Nantucket. The Equinox EV is much larger inside than it appears. It’s much larger than the gas version.
My question is how much was the down payment to get the $187/month lease deal?
I paid the full lease on one payment. The $187 is my total payment divided by 24. If I wanted monthly payments it would have been $207 a month zero down in Texas
@geekontheflightdeck Not a smart move, if the vehicle gets totaled you don't get none of that money back.
Incorrect. Do you know how GM one pay leases work?
Now There's A 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV 3LT
What does your auto insurance run you a year? Thanks...
Progressive doesn’t have it in their system so they charged the same as my Ioniq 5 for now. Nothing crazy but insurance is very person dependent
Waiting to hear the gyro spin up

The Chevrolet Bolt has a massive recall. It was a measure of goodwill.
