  • Diarmuid & Seamus called up from Kverneland Ireland to give us a demo of the Fastbale, and run us through how non-stop baling is achieved.
    GRASSMEN are the fast-paced, global agriculture phenomenon whose video content and merchandise are recognised worldwide. The business was started in 2009 by current director Gareth Gault, known to fans as ‘Donkey’. His love and passion for machinery allowed him to experiment with cameras and upload content to UA-cam. To his surprise, a large following soon developed and the niche in the market for real-life, documentary, farming and machinery action made it possible to drive the brand forward.
    We at GRASSMEN, pride ourselves on providing an exclusive look into agricultural manufacturers, meeting real, working farmers, showing and demonstrating farming machinery through all seasons such as silage and slurry, and ultimately educating and entertaining our fans.
    If you love all things agriculture from top manufacturers such as John Deere, Fendt, Massey Ferguson, JCB, Land Rover and many many more, come and join #teamgrassmen, we would love to have you.

    Remarkable piece of engineering. To be able to keep it so compact, the way the wrapping table operates, and the fact that the center of the bale is compacted before transferring to the main chamber should make this a fantastic machine.

      Absolutely. I don't think I've ever seen a baler quite like this one. Hats off to Seamus for designing a compact baler/wrapper combination. I'm sure it will do well on smaller farms where field sizes are an issue.

    Impressive but not the first Baler with variable Compression Chamber, Krone Comprima F155 XC from 2010? comes to mind. And yes, the Krone could baler without stopping, it even came with an optional Bale-Wrapper.
    What Kverneland achieved is a very compact Baler with a variable Compression Chamber which is impressive consindering how "Small" the Kverneland Baler and Wrapper Combo is.

    Great video pity ye didn’t ask the question that we all want to know how many bales is she capable off bailing in an a hour for anyone consider buying a baler off that captaincy apart from operator ease of use crop flow and bale density and dealer backup thats gonna be the next question and probably apart from price will be a huge deciding factor

    It's a interesting baler, and if you look back 15 to 20 years, the development of balers have gone far! But i wonder, what are the weight on one of these compared to a Mchale Fusion or a Claas Uniwrap? It dosen't look as bulky as the Fusion, but it can be heavy either way :)

  • @AlbertaRanch
    @AlbertaRanch 7 днів тому

    The bale doesn't look very dense. It must lose compression when it transfers from one chamber to the other? I wonder if the bales are packed tight enough to ensile properly?

    Would like to see it in the same field as a fusion to compare for weight etc, I know the fusion isn't a non stop baler but it does make a great bale! I'm not knocking the Kverneland, would be nice to compare.

    • @paddyburke5945

      That unit was on demo where I work. They baled a 15acre field with that and a fusion. Fusion made 81 bales. That made 80 bales.

    • @johnwakley7165
      @johnwakley7165 3 роки тому +6

      @@paddyburke5945 it’s a very good concept though. One thing you have to bare in mind this 1st gen machine with only a few years of development straight off the bat was able to keep pace with a 3rd/4th gen machine with getting in nearly 20 years of development. Although what kind of bale it makes would also be important to see

    • @tipperarymick5337
      @tipperarymick5337 3 роки тому +7

      @@johnwakley7165 I would imagine because of how the bale is compacted first in the pre-chamber and then again in the main chamber it should make a very firm bale as the center of the bale is getting compacted as well.

    Non stop baling is easier on operator tractor and baler. Kubota/kvernerland/vicon have a winner in their stable

    • @ITubeTooInc
      @ITubeTooInc 3 роки тому +2

      Kubota/Kvernerland/Vicon/Gallignani. The Italian brand Gallignani is a fourth round baler brand which looks identical to for example Vicon except for the colour. Gallignani only makes round balers so that's probaly where all their round balers are made regardless of the brand. Both Vicon and Gallignani are owned Kvernland Group, which in turn is owned by Kubota Corpotation. The Vicon owner took over the French baler manufacturer Rivierre Casalis later known as Greenland in the 80's and all the Rivierre Casalis/Greenland balers were rebraned as Vicon once Kvernland took over Vicon and Greenland in 1998.
