pinning was added to the original after below zero released, but yeah I think the story was disappointing, the ending to me feels like a cop-out. There wasn't enough substance in the story so they made the architects less mysterious which detracts from not just this story but the entire world they're building with these games.

I have 200+ hours in Subnautica but I couldn't play past 15 hours in BZ. The game devs captured lightning in a bottle with the first game and made it great in mostly intended but some unintentional ways. Letting go of everything that made Subnautica so good in the sequel has left me massively disappointed.
I agree even if it felt like subnautica in the beginning when collecting materials and building your Arsenal, but when you progressed in the game, you realized that a lot of the factors that made subnatica OG do good was just not in this game. Thank you for commenting and sharing your thoughts😊

Another thing missing is/was Simon Chylinski, who made a memorable soundtrack, which is great to hear by itself. I've "ridden along" with "Subnautica" players since 2015, but "Below Zero," not so much. Could the story been improved with a larger/deeper map? Only if there were Dinosaur-sized Leviathans such as a Mosasaur. Then a bigger-than-Cyclops submarine could be in the game, but to do what? Play "Chicken" with Dunkleosteus? Bang heads with a Megalodon? Oh well, maybe a "Jeremy Wade" character will show up for "Subnautica: Cretaceous Seas"
the story wasn't the thing that bothered me most though, it was the lack of vehicles and upgrades for them, and sure I can live with the map being smaller for more land exploration but how about this, maybe there should be some life on land to then, and it isn't very interesting to be on land when nothing really happens, I think they dropped the fear of danger on everything in subnautica bz and therefore it became an underwater sim instead of its predecessor. but like you said the end left room for possibilities, I have a lot of hope for subnautica 3. thank you for sharing your thoughts dude:)
Good review, btw u have horse power upgrade and afterburner upgrade for sea truck,horse power does a little difference and afterburner gives u boost for few seconds but drains power and has cooldown ..OG subnautica is much better then BZ
after I checked online what upgrades were available I just stopped looking for them, so I knew about them but didn't care. That's what I think too. it was just more to discover and you could feel that that was supposed to be a DLC and not a stand-alone game. thank you for sharing dude :)
The game does have a horsepower upgrade for increased speed with modules, did you miss it or did it underperform, idk I haven't made it yet. Other than that great review!

I thought you sounded like you mostly enjoyed the game. The biggest gripe I have with this one is your rating system... you give it a 7/10 and then call it average? That makes no sense.

I do have a hard time being critical but it's a work in progress. but I did enjoy the game when it came to most parts of the game but there were certain issues that I just couldn't let slide. when it comes to the point system this is how I see it. 1 - 5 the game failed where 1 means the game failed in everything and 5 means the game failed in too many aspects to be considered a game you should buy. 6 - 10 where 6 is below average but the game can still be enjoyable, you should proceed with caution and maybe wait for updates or until it's on sale, and 7 is an average game that doesn't mean its a poor game but you should probably get more information to see if it's a good enough fit for your liking. 8 is above average, it's not perfect but it is worth your time. 9 it's a must-play and it is an excellent game. 10 it is an epic game. so to conclude. I did have fun in the game and I enjoyed most of it, but there were a lot of things holding it back so I think it is a 7/10, but I am new at this so I can see myself being a little generous when it comes to the points and I might need to work on that but I am very honest on how I word my review. but if you have pointers I gladly hear them out so don't be afraid to speak up :)
It just felt like the prawn suit was there just for show and was not needed in the game except for mining minerals. I used the seatruck the most with no attatchment so mobilitet didnt suffer so much as it did with them. Thank you for sharin mate😊
@@FearITGames I used the prawn mostly for the land areas as it was more comfortable and survivable than the snowfox, especially with the grapple arm. I didnt really care about worms. Sometimes used it with the sea truck, as it had a module to carry it with u. Usually 1-2 storage and the fabricator were enough modules for me.
Yeah it was sad. I ejoyed it but I can defenetly see why they removed it in this game. But in my opinion they could have added new vehicles that was more interesting and that avctually had a reason to exist in the game. I liked below zero but as you say, would prob call it a spin off. Horrible downgrade when it comes to vehicules in BZ indeed. I've always HATED the Prawn Suit for so many reasons and I never use it. Cyclops was incredible but the Seamoth was the best of all. Seatruck is trash imo. Even if you bother getting a storage module, it slows you down for very little storage. The lockers are bigger than those you build in a base but take about only a third of the capacity. And cherry on top, as you said : no sonar... and of course Snowfox is a big meh... But even with that, BZ is my favorite by a little bit. There is to much surface to my taste but the story is using all we learnt from the first one to create something super cool. But yeah, a lot of people don't like it. I hope to see the next one soon ;)
There was so many things in bz where I question what happened? But even if there are alot of questioning vehicles and upgrade choises, it is still a subnautica game but very limited compared to original subnautica. so I can agree on almost all the things exept that bz is not my favorit 😊 but I can understand that people still like it for its nostalgic subnautica vibe and feel to it😊 thank you for commenting and sharing your thoughts mate😊

I never made a seatruck in this game or the snowfox, I did everything in the prawn suit.
It just felt like the prawn suit was there just for show and was not needed in the game except for mining minerals. I used the seatruck the most with no attatchment so mobilitet didnt suffer so much as it did with them. Thank you for sharin mate😊

The removal of the Cyclops is just sad. I enjoy Below Zero but i hope its treated as a spin off and now the real Subnautica 2.

The death animations are kinda neat, otherwise seems pretty just "ok"
