The bear case on why Tesla is down so much revolves around Q1 numbers, which as most analysts presumed, is attributed to falling demand. If Q2 numbers were to rebound strongly as Tesla has guided and observed so far in April, I wonder what thesis will the bears come up with next. Car sales is falling in US, Europe and China, but sales for EVs have been increasing. It's a clear sign where the consumer market is headed. Tesla is so far ahead of the alternatives, it's almost a no-brainer for EV buyers to favour Tesla when it comes to value-for-money. Even without autonomous vehicles, Tesla will come to dominate the EV market in the next 5 years, as long as they keep up production and innovation.
Actually, Musk said they should be down, again, in Q2 2019. He said Q3 2019 should be a return to profit. They have some things they want to do. The bears just can't see that Tesla's fundamentals are super strong. That's why, EVERY year (for the past 11 YEARS), they keep saying the end is coming soon.
@@AscendedSaiyan3 Clarification: Musk said profits would be down Q2. Probably due to start of leasing. Production and sales may break records although they will not be pushing deliveries in order to normalize supply chain.
Just for the sake of history...TSLA stock closed today at $241.47 close. What's interesting is that Elon Musk is saying Tesla robotaxis network online by August 2020. I, for one, welcome our new Tesla Terminator overlords.

I, for one, welcome our new Tesla Terminator overlords.
that robot taxi thing was a recycled claim he previously shared in 2016 where the robot taxis would run the world by 2018. Not that it will actually happen or anything...
This was a really calm interview, i was able to hear each person's point of view (especially the guest), Great job guys. Hope you hold interviews like this more.

ok dumbass, i receive email notification of every trade ARK makes on a daily basis. they trade around volatility to take advantage of market inefficiencies. i don’t own any tsla but following ark’s big bets on nvta, ilmn, nstg, etc has proven to be very profitable. i have no doubt in time, tsla will demonstrate same results.

Tesla has won the Autonomous EV market. It's game over. This time next year they will have 1 million driverless capable cars on the road. The goose is about to lay the golden egg.
I agree but it will take a bit longer for real traction to set in. In the meantime, high volatility will continue.
Before that, the Maxwell deal will be done by May 15.
That can increase, across the board:
Vehicle range, performance, longevity.
Battery production volume(!) And reduces cost.
Static storage production (Maxwell for vehicles, Panasonic for storage)
Huge for the company.
Jason, i think next year misght me on Elons time, but yeah Tesla has huge lead in Autonomous EV development
@CLP noone has yet,but the Teslas development path is the most universal and does not depend on high precision maps+gps. It mimics what you do then you drive, it just thinks faster then us, bags of dirty water.
