Revenge of the cream pie, wood and rubber not being appreciated, and Erudi confessing "...so I was trying to pose to take a picture with Sevvy and this other character, this friend-like chicken dude, comes up behind me and starts like grinding on my character" sounds like you were playing a Sims game made by BioWoke. Oh, "they can tell actually tell when you are talking because of the little vibrating circle...". So that is was just the Erudi-effect on a perfectly normal game. Disney is probably going to be calling soon. They like to "Role Play" too.

Can someone explain to me how a raise works?
Yes! Anytime you roll at least 4 higher than the Target Number (TN) that is a raise! In most cases the TN is 4. But sometimes its higher or in the case of combat the TN is your opponent's Parry score. Every further interval of 4 after the first is another raise. What a raise does, depends on what the ability/spell/attack was. Attacks do more damage on a raise, spells have additional effects, etc.
