As a child growing up from birth in 1952, We never were taught about our origins in Africa. Although the majority of African Americans were brought from west Africa, somehow as an elementary school child, I always identified myself as an Ethiopian, from my own reasoning. My mother and father easily looked Ethiopian. I don't know where in west Africa I would identify. I definitely have the genes of white slave owners in my bloodline, but I feel in my soul my east African roots. I learned a few decades ago that the oldest discovery of human remains was excavated in Ethiopia. Since becoming a Muslim in 1974,I've become acquainted with many Ethiopians. I truly identify with them, and most Africans. My Sudanese friends are also delightfully close. AL Islam has truly opened African doors with many wonderful relationships. But Ethiopia has always been my identifying place of origin. Thanks for this video.

Ethiopia did give land to Jamacians others of the Carribbean and those of the Rastafarian community. That is historical fact. Also there was a clip on an African American who join the Ethiopian airforce (i think). It would be nice if you do more on Diasporians living and succeeding in Ethiopia Thank you and Blessings 🙏

Many children of slaves through teachings of Marcus Garvey were inspired and were shown love by Ethiopia...

So beautiful to know the Empress of Ethiopia Zewditu and her Pan-Africanist spirit to promote solidarity and bring Africans in the continent and in the Diaspora, together.
She makes me remember our other Great Women of the past, Great Queens such as Ancient Egypt Pharaoh Hatshepsut who exhibited such spirit of bringing our people together by sending an expedition to the Land of Punt, Sub-Saharan Africa where her Ancestors came from.

    People don't know this:
When African-Americans started to settle in Liberia they started plantations that was controlled by them and the natives worked as slaves. The country was divided into two classes for decades the ruling class (African Americans) and the slaves (natives). This was one of the causes for the Liberian Civil War.
