    That’s why it’s even a bigger indicator of his narcissism. He has NO self awareness, doesn’t care, and is actively acting against his own interest, but is too grandiose to stop it. She made a record of EVERYTHING, lol. The patience & endurance she had on this case was off the charts! I couldn't be a judge. I just wanted to choke him! He said some terrible things to her but she kept going in spite of his crazy anger & bad attitude. She needs a vacation after this case!

      I agree. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for the prosecution and the judge, who are accustomed to dealing with defense attorneys who know what they're doing and who don't use these ridiculous delay tactics, to sit through all of his shenanigans. Not to mention the court reporter who will have to transcribe his nonsense later...sitting through it the first time is hard enough.

      I agree, she is wonderful. If she were to lose her temper or be overly punitive, he'd try to use that to cite bias for grounds of an appeal. She is not giving him that opportunity. I really admire how calm and patient she has been throughout this whole trial.

      She saved everybody's time and money by taking it upon herself, now that Brooks is trying to file an appeal there is no loose end on the legal basis where his appeal would be accepted. The defendant being the defense was the issue here, she had to give the defense a chance to represent himself fairly no matter what his strategy was, his strategy was to frustrate the judge and call for a mistrial, he failed miserably

    This is why the judge is a better person than me. My response would have been, "Neither. I am COMMANDING you."
    And when he says his legal question HAS to be answered now, so as to not waste valuable time later, my responses would have been simple:
    1) why is this time less valuable than the time at morning break, lunch, or afternoon?
    2) if it wastes time later, why doesn't it waste time now?
    This judge should be no.inated for sainthood.

      I get very frustrated with it too but lots of lawyers are saying she is not harsh because he is trying to get a mistrial, contempt charges, or anything else that he can use on appeal. I do believe that there should be some new rules for the people that represent themselves and purposely try to create chaos.

    This is a key sovereign citizen trial. *He’s acting the way he is because he believes state laws do not apply to him.* She’s showing him he’s wrong in that belief. She’s using the law to remove him from the court room when he acts disrespectful; that’s about the extent of any punishment for his reprehensible behavior, which could be dished out.
    The judge wants to finish the trial. *The penalties for disrespect or contempt, are fines and incarceration.* _He’s already in jail, he has no money, finding him in contempt, would delay and slow the trial, but have no effect on his behavior at all._

    Acting as his own attorney, it's his job to be prepared for trial and to not waste the court, the jury, or the witnesses lives. He can't be rewarded for that. For some reason he thinks he's going to get out of jail on a technicality and that's never going to happen.

There are mandatory appeals using at least 2 lawyers each time, increased security costs for death row inmates, and they often spend years on death row before execution. That don't just take them out back and shoot them immediately after the verdict.
      And it's 6 people.

    I have, thus far, watched this entire trial. I have to say the judge and prosecutors have bent over backwards to be fair to this guy. I know their motive is to ensure there is no reason for appeal but they have been absolutely helpful to and tolerant of this fool.

    On UA-cam I saw a psychologist taking trial video clips, and-bit by bit-showing us the narcissistic characteristics of a manipulator in Brooks’ actions everything became clear.
    He got angry, wouldn’t give in and was totally frustrated because “it didn’t work”.
    He argued, kept talking with total disrespect and when she shut him down suddenly HE was the wronged party. He didn’t understand. She wasn’t being fair to him.
    That’s how he controlled the women in his life. They felt bad, “he’s right and I’m wrong. How can I make it up to him?”
    Judge Dorow was in charge. Brooks had no control, she did,
    Once you’ve seen example after example of him trying the same thing again and again, with no change in the outcome, it’s just a fascinating show of mental immaturity and you love watching him fail every single time.

    What’s he even fighting back for?! 🤣 He’s fighting to be treated equally after he bulldozed 6 people. This is why you shouldn’t be able to represent yourself look at the last guy that tried that killed his wife and almost his son. It’s free ticket to act out.

      He's trying to delay and obstruct as much as he can, and his ultimate hope is to draw the judge or prosecutor into some kind of outburst that he can use as grounds for mistrial or appeal. Also he's a malignant narcissist who can't stand being held accountable for anything.

    If I were the judge on this particular case, I would had approved Mr Brooks motions, they were not outlandish and within the scopes of the parameters of the case. Instead of arguing with him.

    Now Darrell Brooks can really say that he pulled something out of a hat out of nowhere with Ms. Yourell. His music video which was legally published is nothing compared to this. And I'm very sure calling her is his biggest regret thankfully, biggest grave he has dug himself into.
