Mike Evans is the most consistent receiver in the NFL. 10 seasons with a 1,000 yards. Second only to Jerry Rice. Devante Adams is the most technically sound receiver in the NFL. Unfortunately for him he plays for the Raiders.

It’s cause they all recognize that he isn’t really that great he’s consistent and that’s a great trait to have. But when it comes to being skilled at the craft of being a Wr, stem, release, break point he’s average at best. Hes great at contested catches but he isn’t great at any other part of being a Wr. What he has achieved is great he was a top 5 Wr for at least 2 to 3 season at his peak but since there have been more talented guys to come into the league who are obviously better than him from a skill and talent standpoint. Things happen there are many great WRs who would have achieved what he has if they didn’t get injured and had to miss a season or two a guy like Odell or Amari cooper are technically better and more gifted than Mike but due to injuries in the case of Odell and always having either a bad qb or other good WRs on his team for Amari

He just made a choice to go to the Raiders and until they change ownership, it doesn't look like they are going to straighten out their problems. Unless they came up with the steal in the draft at quarterback, things don't look promising.
I’m not going to call him a liar because I know he TRULY believes he is, and he arguably may just be. If you turned injuries off though, I think at this MOMENT in time Jets and Chase are better. But here’s the thing, that’s assuming they stay HEALTHY. If you factor in durability, it gets a lot closer. DA has been in the league for a DECADE. He has played in 161/174 possible games. Missing just 13 games his entire career (including playoffs). He’s never missed over 4 games in a season. If any NFL SUPERSTAR could be called an “underdog” it’s Davante Adams. He definitely carries an Aaron Rodgers-like chip on his shoulder from seeing 8 WR’s taken OVER him. He was definitely not viewed as someone likely to become a star at the NFL level having played at Fresno State of all places. This sentiment is obvious when you look back and see that of those 8 guys, busts like Paul Richardson, Jordan Matthews, and Kelvin Benjamin were taken before him. Semi-busts Sammy Watkins and Marqise Lee as well. He is better than Brandin Cooks and OBJ who were drafted before him. Mike Evan’s is arguably the only WR drafted ahead of DA with a case for being better. All that drives him, so him saying this should not be surprising to anyone. To be the best, you have to truly BELIEVE you are the best. This goes for all elite athletes across almost every sport. For the record I’m not Pack/Raider/Davante fan. So I have no bias for or against him.

As a former receiver the boundary is much harder to play than the slot. Even Prime Time Deion Sanders hated the slot. A corner can use that side line as friend. You have to even be careful how you line up because you too close to the sideline or to the qb a smart CB can now began to understand what routes you can run because of area of the field you can operate out of.

@@Delmiester Don't get me wrong, I think Davante Adams is a great receiver. He just made a choice to go to the Raiders and until they change ownership, it doesn't look like they are going to straighten out their problems. Unless they came up with the steal in the draft at quarterback, things don't look promising.

I’m not going to call him a liar because I know he TRULY believes he is, and he arguably may just be. If you turned injuries off though, I think at this MOMENT in time Jets and Chase are better.
But here’s the thing, that’s assuming they stay HEALTHY. If you factor in durability, it gets a lot closer. DA has been in the league for a DECADE. He has played in 161/174 possible games. Missing just 13 games his entire career (including playoffs). He’s never missed over 4 games in a season.
If any NFL SUPERSTAR could be called an “underdog” it’s Davante Adams. He definitely carries an Aaron Rodgers-like chip on his shoulder from seeing 8 WR’s taken OVER him. He was definitely not viewed as someone likely to become a star at the NFL level having played at Fresno State of all places.
This sentiment is obvious when you look back and see that of those 8 guys, busts like Paul Richardson, Jordan Matthews, and Kelvin Benjamin were taken before him. Semi-busts Sammy Watkins and Marqise Lee as well. He is better than Brandin Cooks and OBJ who were drafted before him. Mike Evan’s is arguably the only WR drafted ahead of DA with a case for being better.
All that drives him, so him saying this should not be surprising to anyone. To be the best, you have to truly BELIEVE you are the best. This goes for all elite athletes across almost every sport. For the record I’m not Pack/Raider/Davante fan. So I have no bias for or against him.

I think because Tyreek is short and not prototypical that people sleep.
As a former receiver the boundary is much harder to play than the slot. Even Prime Time Deion Sanders hated the slot. A corner can use that side line as friend. You have to even be careful how you line up because you too close to the sideline or to the qb a smart CB can now began to understand what routes you can run because of area of the field you can operate out of.

Adams may or may not be better than Jefferson. But I would take Jefferson easily over Adams. Adams is self-absorbed, evidenced by his complaints when the Raiders win despite not being a good team. Meanwhile, Jefferson competes at the highest level, is extremely gifted, produces numbers, and comes across as very likable.
His money is dictated by his performance, who wouldn't be complaining...it's a business first.

They both got drafted in 2014 but he has more yards on less receptions and almost the same exact amount of touchdowns. Mike Evans is the definition of underrated.
