    If you have watched this video and are reading the comments, you are probably interested in Miwa's cooking club and curious to know if it is for you. I joined in January with little cooking knowledge and even less experience participating in an online community with zoom sessions. In short, I was intimidated to cook and uncomfortable to communicate with people I did not know. With the support of Miwa and the group, I now meal prep healthy, easy to cook recipes each week. I also love being part of the online community where we all have a common passion that brings us together.

      I still remember you told me how you feel intimidated to join this kind of group on the internet, but look at you! Now you are one of the leaders of this club in terms of both cooking and encouraging members. It's amazing to see how you changed in this short period of time. Now I can see meal prepping and home cooking is habituated. I'm sure it's going to be your thing for a long time! Thank you Susan.

    I am from Austria Europe and I am joining Miwa’s Ikigai cooking club for more then 2 month and I have to say my daily eating routine has changed completely. I have lost minus 12 kg - these are 25,4 pounds in about 10 weeks and my gut health has really improved. No more cramps or diarrhea. No more bloating.
    And by the way it is so much fun talking to others from all over the world with the same aim. Eating healthy japanese food. Caring for ourselves and our beloved ones with good food. Uncomplicated and very helpful because of the weekly food plans and food prep.
    Usually I don't t have too much time for cooking during the week because of my job. I work as a general practitioner in alternative medicine in my own office. But with Miwa‘ s food prep I can eat healthy and delicious every day without the need of hours of cooking.
    Miwa is amazing concerning personal coaching and she is reflecting to every single post or answering every questions we have.
    My own Ikigai has got an new meaning to me.
    It is not always easy to get japanese ingredients in Austria but other members of the club often help me a lot finding shops where I can get my needed stuff.
    PS... Sorry for my English - my mothertalk ist German language . So this is not so easy to express my thoughts and experience in English.

      I didn't know that you lost weight! I can see why through your post since your cooking is always rainbow and has great balance of protein and carbs. It's been just an impression for everyone else. ( every other member talks the same, so you know how great you are! )More than anything, this really spoke to me. Please keep sharing your journey!     I think in general the Japanese cooking is better for gut health then many Western counterparts, as it has naturally a lot of fermented food. Here we have sauerkraut mostly in winter but that's about it. I've recently starting making sauerkraut at home and it is surprisingly easy, and in summer great as a salad of side dish (I've only been used to it cooked).

      @@MiwasJapaneseCooking More my grandmother's. They had a small farm and they made it in winter to preserve some of the cabbage. it's easy with just cabbage and salt. and Let it feremnet for a few days to 2 weeks (depending on how warm it is in the house). You can add seasoning. I wonder is you can use shiso for instance, as in ume boshi, to get a Jaoanese flavour.

      Tamara, is it possible for you to share the sauerkraut recipe? I would like to make more fermented food. I'm not sure what to look for in a sauerkraut recipe and I don't want to have a huge batch that came from a bad recipe. Thanks!

    I would really appreciate a video on non-tofu sources of plant protein in Japanese cuisine. I can't digest soy unless it's fermented and can make tofu out of other sources, but surely Japanese cuisine has more than tofu to offer the plant-based cuisine. Thank you!

      Miwa, on the theme of simplifying your life, I'd highly recommend getting a cordless vacuum. I use mine to clean up little spills right after they happen so my floors are always clean with only a couple of minutes of effort each time. No more 1 hour vacuuming sessions on the weekend! 🤠

    My weight last time was 87kg and now 82kg took for 3 months. What i did was changing my lifestyle. I eat like japan style more real food, less oil, less fast food and less sugar. Also i drink green tea/matcha everyday. Sometimes I enjoy my fast food once in 2 months.
    I believe you are what u eat. Our cells body consume healthy meals and make our skin glowing. My skin much better than before, Im 33 y/o but people assume Im 23 y/o.

    Thank you for sharing another great recipe that I can't wait to try out! I have been a member of the Ikigai Cooking Club for about 2 months now and it has been a great experience! The community group is diverse, uplifting and inspiring. The weekly meal plan helps guide and encourages us to try new recipes, dishes and make them our own. I love the Zoom meetings where we laugh, talk, and sometimes cook a meal together.

    My second-favourite topic! (the first being mushrooms haha). I have 12 pounds of kimchi and a bunch of kombucha fermenting right now, and I think next I'm going to try shio koji. :) And your pickled vegetables!

      Thank you Grace! I do stick to the same skincare for years since my skin is quite sensitive. but nothing matters if I eat unhealthy food all the time. Always Food first😀

      ohhh It could be any fish though.
      walnuts and flaxseed oil would be another great option for Omega3 fat!

    Those are some bold claims regarding the health benefits. In particular I am interested where you got the idea that bacteria in our guts produce B12?

      A Google search for scholarly articles will give you many authors who have found that cobalamin is not only utilized by the human gut but is also produced by the gut. There does remain a need to have cobalamin sources in the diet, as the produced B-12 is not in sufficient quantities for optimum health. I hope this helps!
