The somber piano motif at the end is referencing two other songs on the same album, Absolomb and Lune. Both mega-worthy of reactions imo, Lune especially so. It's a crowd favorite.
Weird. They're my favorite band of all time but this is one of my least favorite choruses they've ever made. It actually ruins this song for me cause it's so good otherwise.
The outro piano is a theme in the album (P3). Another song in P3 titled Absolomb also has an orchestra version of it in the outro. If you love juicy, succulent bass tone, you'll love Absolomb
Also, those motifs are previews of the album closer, Lune. P3 is such a good album. For me it's up there with the Juggernaut albums. To each their own, eh?😅
The videographer for this video is also the drummer for a band called "Circle of Contempt". They havent released music is quite some time now, but their stuff is worth a listen.
Steve, you’ve heard this and Lune. You can’t miss out Absolomb! As many have said, it shares the same motif found in those songs. It’s easily top 5 periphery songs for me. It’s a journey!
periphery live its amazing, i remember when they played this song...fuck i felt my chest was about burst (out of joy haha). Now im jealous you get to see them with spiritbox!!
Randomly discovered this track through r/cars (!), years ago. I always said I like most music, apart from metal. Now Perhiperhy are my favourite band and I mainly listen to Djent. All because of r/cars and this beautiful song.
Been waiting for you to do this one. It’s a brillint riff from Mark. This one and the track “Lune” are the two melodic choices. And best ones in my opinion.
I really felt the same about Spencer's voice, however, like you, I've come to appreciate his approach. Periphery has now become one of my favorite bands. Cheers🤘
I think everyone feels that way about Spencer's vocals at first, but with time it becomes more more apparent how talented he is and the sound just works.
Oh nice! I LOVE this track! 🤘Also check out Flatline from that album. It breaks my heart though because I think of my Dad dealing with MS. There is a line in there that says, "So lift me up or let me go, because this body doesn't feel like home..." Have a great day dude! Always love your reactions.
It makes me very nostalgic to see this Periphery when the beloved Noly was still there. Please you have to react to Wax wings from their latest album, Spencer's voice is totally crazy, I love him
If you ever get the chance, look up "The Way Slim Shady Gave Up", its a mashup of this song, Linkin Park's Given Up, AND Eminem's Slim Shady. Goes harder than it should
Damn it's super weird to see that Sumerian logo at the end nowadays with Periphery haha. They started their own label "three dot" a couple years ago.
5 years

Someone in my Discord is putting Lune on my radar I believe. May get to that sometime soon 👀
That blast beat chorus is the best they've ever written
I’m in love with it. It’s never gotten old and I usually get goosebumps when it comes on.
One of the first happy blasts I've ever heard!

Select Difficulty III is probably my favorite album from them. With Alpha/Omega coming in as a close second. So poppy and melodic but still prog
3:12 YOUR attention to detail is great. The fact that you even noticed his left foot hi-hat work is amazing.
So good Steve. This song pretty much made me a mad Periphery fan. Thanks for the review :)

The wave to the camera at the end! :D Love some Periphery.
this was my fav periphery song for a long time. so happy i got to see it live before it escapes their sets
I've seen them earlier this year and they played it!
It was so awesome
My Wife did not like Spencer's vocals at first but now she can't get enough. I started listening during P2 and have been obsessed ever sense! Love it!
It took me years to notice that the end when the piano melody changes it's the melody from lune. This song might be my favorite from them

This and "Garden of the Bones" are their best songs to me personally

listen to Thanks Nobuo from PV after hearing this one, they share a bond of melodic epicness
Another great one from my favorite band.

Loveeee this song. This was the first song I ever heard by them ❤
My favorite band 😍🤘🏻🔥
Intro is literally my alarm haha

Lune reaction is on its way soon 👀
@@SteveOGRock wohoooo! Armed and ready. 😊🙏
Great band! Lovely review

I have actually since reacted to that one! I imagine it’ll be on the channel in a few days or so.
YES MORE Riffery!
I had a very similar evolving appreciation for Spencer's vocals. Initially didn't care for the nasally tone but, it grew on me as well.
The somber ending is what flows into the next song which is called remain indoors
Now let’s go for older Monuments album reactions pleaaaseee
If you ever get the chance, look up "The Way Slim Shady Gave Up", its a mashup of this song, Linkin Park's Given Up, AND Eminem's Slim Shady.
Goes harder than it should
Whaaaat? I have to hear this.
Haaaaa! You’re right that fucking hits.
Please check out Shadow Of Intent - Flying The Black Flag ❤
I miss this era of purryfurry 😢
pure riffery
I agree 100 percent. This album was god tier.
This was probably my least favorite album of theirs tbh. But every one of their albums is also a 10/10 in my eyes so yeah 😂
Yeah the anchor pieces on songs like this are album based, not as many song based. P2 is a trip
P3 is cover to cover bangers and I'm bored of pretending it's not
