(Writing while I’m watching) I’m so sad that AG doesn’t care about Josefina. And it’s sad that she doesn’t have any accessories or other outfits. I feel like girls nowadays don’t really read the books though which is sad because they are so very good! I love love love Kirstens story and your Kirsten makes me want her more. I NEED RUTHIE SO MUCH she’s too cute.
The truth is I do read a lot of the American girl books and so do some of my friends. So it makes me interested to know that people that you know don’t read them .
I LOVE SAMANTHA ESPECIALLY HER MOVIE! (my favorite live action movie) i think they should bring her collection back :( all she has is her book and accessories
My beef with Molly wasn't the turnip incident; indeed, I thought that made her more relatable. I just think she's...boring. Felicity tames a horse and nurses her mom through illness, Addy escapes slavery, and Molly...eats turnips and learns how to swim. On the other hand, those who call Molly immature should look at how much she's changed by the end of the series. Even her older sister notices.

Molly is my fav BECAUSE she’s so immature. I was just like that as as kid so she was my favorite and honestly its just funny. Her being so stubborn isn’t annoying to me its iconic🤣
The company has a history starting with Pleasant Rowland. The original 6 dolls re-produced as 35th Anniversary dolls all had large collections through Pleasant Company. Each doll had 34-37 SETS of items. These items drifted off into being discontinued. They are still available second hand. The dolls I took less notice of were later historical dolls like Caroline and Marie-Grace. Mattel has done a much higher turnover with historical dolls and have focused on GOTY dolls and the more modern Truly Me dolls. They continue to put out new products to generate new sales interest, so the original historical dolls have severely reduced collections or have been cubed or discontinued.
My boyfriend is Swedish and Kirsten is his #1 favorite American Girl, Samantha is his #2 favorite, and Julie and Kitt are his #3 and #4 favorites. Thankfully, I have been able to get him all of them for his birthday. He loves the Historical dolls.
i feel like Samantha and Kirsten are the most popular. Josefina came out past my time, so I never really got into her. I had Felicity. I always thought that her and Addy were often ignored.
I know this is my second comment but the truth is I have Marie Grace and I love her! My mom got her because she’s southern and my mom is southern. Mary Grace is just so pretty. Not just because of her face mold but because of her personality. I just really hope other people have the same opinion
Molly’s food avoidance behavior was not unusual. It reflected the scarcity and value of food during WW2. Children have also been expected to eat what they were served. Today, children tend to get served what they will eat. In the movie, actress Molly Ringwald played her mother! And go back to how her mother re-heated the turnips in a pan on the stove-not the microwave. This scene was a part of understanding the setting. How many kids eat what they want and heat or reheat foods in the microwave?
I don’t think any of these dolls are unpopular, except Julie and with some people Molly and Samantha. But in the AG groups I’m in Felicity and Kirsten in particular are popular and fairly expensive. Samantha’s clothes are also expensive on resale.
I loved this, I just subscribed. Samantha is my dream doll since I was a child. I did buy my first Ag doll, the 35 the anniversary. I'm so excited to do a unboxing video when she comes
I have 0 AG dolls, but I do love both Addie Walker & Mollie McIntire very much. | That's why they're my favorite characters. | Addie is just like me (we have the same skincolors-skintones) & Mollie helped me got my patriotism spirit back. [cheers to both girls]
They are so rare to find! Even if you have the budget. I'm so glad I got Marie Grace as a kid, she is by far my favourite and I couldn't afford to get one now 😪😪
I didn't think she was that rare! My mom found one for $25 at a thrift store with bad hair but she fixed it and now she is awesome! I LOVE Marie-Grace her face mold is my favorite face mold and I love her story I've only read the first one but I loved it! MG is AmAzInG!!!!
You should do pet peeves/just unpopular opinions. Like I don't like seeing the naked dolls (it's just weird and makes me uncomfortable for some reason) And it really annoys the crap out of me, to an irrational degree, when i see historical dolls dressed in clothes not from their collection (Like Kirsten in modern clothes or something.) I don't know why that annoys me, it's so small and *so* unimportant. Do you have any pet peeves like that? (perhaps a video idea)
I don't understand why so many people want to see these kind of videos...I just wish people would look at the positives of things instead of the negatives. What ever happened to, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all,"? You know what I mean?
Kirsten was always one of my favorites. She was my first doll and I’ve had her forever! Also, her story is very centered around her Scandinavian heritage, which I really like since that’s a part if my heritage. Also, Molly and Maryellen are comedic characters. I was laughing when reading about the turnips and the the door being painted red.
The bloopers at the end was so funny 🤣 And yesss! I would love it if you did a part 2. I feel like Tenny is pretty hated but I love her! Awesome video as always!
Samantha is the very first AG doll I bought for my daughter. I saw her in her beautiful pink gown & knew she was the perfect dollie for a little girl. I think the second doll she chose herself was MaryEllen. I am super stoked at the thought Kirsten may be coming back soon & can’t wait. Also, Felicity is gorgeous, Marie-Grace & collection, breathtaking & stunning. If only I could be so lucky & blessed to find any part of her collection…
My mom wanted the pleasant company Samantha and when I got more into history of the brand my mom told me about her. So i started saving up for the beforever doll until they brought the anniversary dolls so I’m saving for that Samantha doll! And I was looking at the may 2021 catalogue and if you go to Samanthas page in the back you can see Nellie ! So my theory is that they will bring the best friend dolls! I also want Molly, Kirsten , and Felicity!
the reason most people hate these dolls is because they didn't make a doc instead. Most people don't really care about the stories, because you can change them.
I find that so upsetting because the books are my favourite part!😔😔😔 I do hope AG releases more dolls of colour. I hope the new World by Us line is as good as the rumours say it will be. 😊😊😊
I love the Marie Grace doll. Kirstin’s stories are great and she is very pretty. Samantha is my favorite doll. However, she is cubed. I am not buying any of these dolls. Because, the items are supper expensive. If I can find anything for a good deal, I’d get it. I love Molly. None of the dolls are “immature” as they represent 8-10 year olds. I probably would have impulsively painted the door red when I was 8 years old. I love Julie. I just don’t like her collection as much. Because, her things are more like the the last ‘60’s. Not the mid ‘70’s, when I grew up. Also, I hated playing baseball. By the mid ‘70’ Phys Ed was co-Ed. If Julie was a late’60’s doll, I would buy her, because I like the hippyish vibes.

I found her for 30$ nude.. so I don’t have any of her clothes either .. but I have her books ! I love Julie for a few reasons . 1 I played basketball.. 2 my parents graduated high school / college in the 70’s... plus her whole collection is so accurate!! Anyways I’ll end my long response lol

I grew up with American Girls in the 90's-2000's so I'm biased towards that era of AG because of the obvious nostalgia. Molly and Samantha were my sister and my first dolls. But I absolutely love Kaya, OG Felicity, Josefina, Kirsten, Addy, Samantha, Kit, and Molly. I have a fondness for other AG lines like Today (or just like you i think they're called now. showing how behind i am now i guess) Bitty Babies, etc. But I dont have any emotional connection to or any opinions on anyone released after Julie and Ivy. Like I got Julie but I dont have the nostalgia and emotional connection that I have with the other dolls. I also lowkey resented Rebecca when I heard she came out because it was seemingly right after they discontinued Samantha and I viewed her as "Samantha's replacement" because of the similarities.
Me too but now I’m reading Rebecca’s books. Where the dolls live is a big thing for me too. I grew up near NYC like Samantha and Rebecca. Kirsten, Kit and Molly are from the Midwest which I also love
I love the 70s but care more about NYC and Chicago during that time. I don’t care for Julie either really. Josefina has always been boring to me. Felicity is too, I was never interested in Colonial Williamsburg or the American Revolution. Felicity was my 3rd doll. Felicity is a pretty doll but I don’t usually like red hair. The Felicity movie was boring to me as a kid and adult. I think I would be more interested in Melody’s books than Julie. I don’t care for Molly much as an adult. Also out of most of the dolls she was never too cute to me. The same with Molly’s bed and pajamas
I think Kirsten gets hated on by both AG and by collectors. I have always loved her so much. I have heard critique of her stories, her wardrobe, herself (colour hair/eyes/mold) and so on. It is ironic how many newer collectors have forgotten or stopped appreciating the historical aspect of all the early historical dolls, tbh. Maybe it is the desire to get the latest and greatest, and that newer is by definition better. It kind of baffles me. I do love a lot of the new dolls but not better than the old. Oh dear, maybe i am just old 😂.
I love Felicity I have Felicity and I have a horse from American girl and I named her horse Penny. Just like her story. I love Felicity so much and I hope other people do too.

As a Samantha LOVER I will never understand why people dislike her. She is my personal favorite ever American Girl Doll, Nellie is a close second and Marie-Grace is third.
Felicity's eyes truly are the only thing anyone ever talks about with her. No joke, I was at a flea market last year. Lady has Felicity with no clothes, loose limbs, and what I can only assume to be a redo of her meet hair and she wanted 50 bucks for her. Not that I found that unreasonable (especially since it was Felicity), but when I tried to see if she'd negotiate the price down, the first thing she brought up was that this Felicity had THE eyes that everyone was looking for. As a collector who mainly specializes in Samantha, Nellie, and their collections, I wasn't sure what she meant. But now, after doing more research, it seems like THE eyes are the only meaningful selling point Felicity dolls have nowadays.
Molly was in my group of favorites growing up. I hated how her 6th book in her series ended. In realizing I don’t care for her so much as a character now

And this is just my opinion but I feel like Samantha's birthday outfit is identical to Kirsten's birthday outfit and I also think that her pajamas are identical to Rebecca's pajamas and her bed is identical to Rebecca's bed
What people don't understand about her is she is an orphan her parents were missionary people were a very poor family and she gets adopted by her grand Mary and her favorite uncle in the whole world but she goes to school and she speaks out about how the workers and warehouses treat their employees and how kids are having to work she even raises awareness about Nelly O'Malley and her whole family who are all Irish immigrants who came to America and they work for the ryland family she does not like Eddie ryland she takes it upon herself to get that family out of that situation but the parents die in Nellie's family and they are sent to New York to an orphanage she talks about in her school speech how these workers and the labor family struggle for nice things and that she thinks is not fair of how they're treated she teaches Nelly and her sisters how to read and she does everything she can't by visiting the orphanage and bringing items to them with her uncle's new wife that she has to learn to get used to and she wants her uncle to eventually adopt Nelly and her two sisters she also comes across the orphanage keeper taking the donations from the orphanage and putting it in her own personal pocket right then spend it to help get these orphans adopted or clean food clean clothes and things like that she eventually gets Nelly and her sisters out of the orphanage and brought to her uncle's home and she takes care of Nelly sick sisters while Nelly goes out and looks for a job to help take care of her sisters and her biggest Christmas present is that her uncle decides to take in Nelly and her sisters Nelly is determined to work as a laundry girl as a maid if she had to but her uncle says no we already have a maid we want the three of you to be Samantha's sisters our children
Ok I agree on Kristan, people not likeing her, but I disagree with Molly getting hate. I think she gets talked allot and she is on every girl's wish list including mine.
I don't hate any of the dolls, they are who they are. I do have favorites. Addy was my number one favorite, now I have her, my favorite is Carolyn. When/if I find her, I will then get another favorite. LOL. I would love to find Cecile and Marie Grace. I bought a Felicity and tied her hair back and turned her into George Washington.
I really wish there was a way their eyes sockets that hold the eyes and saw the doll was not made of metal and made of a different material and I really wish there was a way for the dolls not to be so melted and where you can get their hair wet in the pool and they can still be water resistant or heat resistant or even able to not get so damaged so much and not look so oily and I've said this before I think it would be super awesome if each brand of American girl doll or American girl company as a whole finds a recipe so that the dolls can have their own shampoo conditioner and hairspray
The only dolls i really dont like are the new twin dolls their eyes scare ne , i dont find felicitys eyes scary at all though? Ok, I'm a bit late to this video but.....First of all, the only doll on this list I agree with is Josephina and Kirsten with some ppl. I personally love Kirsten, I am drawn to her because she is a pioneer that migrated to Minnesota, which makes her the perfect companion to my custom AG Laura Ingalls. I find it quite silly to not like a doll or character based on hair/eye color. Of course, there are certain looks you are more esthetically drawn to, but to actually dislike or not purchase because of these things is quite ridiculous IMO. Also, calling a child character immature is inane....it's fruit logic.... she is a CHILD. I don't find Samantha or Molly boring. I have and enjoy both. Molly dolls and accessories can be quite pricey. I've never noticed Samantha getting any hate. Cecile and Grace Marie are 2 of my favorites.....I love Louisiana, we have a second home there and it's where my heart lies. So, I am naturally drawn to them and their stories.I already had Grace and Cecile was my HG and I finally got her recently. I don't really feel like many dolls get hate or lack of love....ppl just have their faves and that's different for everyone. I will say that in my experience Josephina and Kaya are the most underappreciated. I think that may be because ppl find there looks the most bland or uninspiring.
I only have one doll right now from the be forever historical collection and that is Samantha parkington when I was a child me and my little sister saved up our allowance and she got the pleasant company Felicity and I got molly because I was in 6th grade I was learning about world war II and the Holocaust and we had to move back to Michigan from Colorado so I had to wait till Christmas when we moved into our new house in Michigan to get Molly

I probably would have impulsively painted the door red when I was 8 years old. I love Julie. I just don’t like her collection as much. Because, her things are more like the the last ‘60’s. Not the mid ‘70’s, when I grew up. Also, I hated playing baseball. By the mid ‘70’ Phys Ed was co-Ed. If Julie was a late’60’s doll, I would buy her, because I like the hippyish vibes.

I was embarrassed to walk into Hobby Lobby with my Kit doll because I wanted to make sure the doll stand would work with Kit.

I grew up with American Girls in the 90's-2000's so I'm biased towards that era of AG because of the obvious nostalgia. Molly and Samantha were my sister and my first dolls. But I absolutely love Kaya, OG Felicity, Josefina, Kirsten, Addy, Samantha, Kit, and Molly. I have a fondness for other AG lines like Today (or just like you i think they're called now. showing how behind i am now i guess) Bitty Babies, etc. But I dont have any emotional connection to or any opinions on anyone released after Julie and Ivy. Like I got Julie but I dont have the nostalgia and emotional connection that I have with the other dolls. I also lowkey resented Rebecca when I heard she came out because it was seemingly right after they discontinued Samantha and I viewed her as "Samantha's replacement" because of the similarities.
Me too but now I’m reading Rebecca’s books. Where the dolls live is a big thing for me too. I grew up near NYC like Samantha and Rebecca. Kirsten, Kit and Molly are from the Midwest which I also love
I love the 70s but care more about NYC and Chicago during that time. I don’t care for Julie either really. Josefina has always been boring to me. Felicity is too, I was never interested in Colonial Williamsburg or the American Revolution. Felicity was my 3rd doll. Felicity is a pretty doll but I don’t usually like red hair. The Felicity movie was boring to me as a kid and adult. I think I would be more interested in Melody’s books than Julie. I don’t care for Molly much as an adult. Also out of most of the dolls she was never too cute to me. The same with Molly’s bed and pajamas
I think Kirsten gets hated on by both AG and by collectors. I have always loved her so much. I have heard critique of her stories, her wardrobe, herself (colour hair/eyes/mold) and so on.
It is ironic how many newer collectors have forgotten or stopped appreciating the historical aspect of all the early historical dolls, tbh. Maybe it is the desire to get the latest and greatest, and that newer is by definition better. It kind of baffles me. I do love a lot of the new dolls but not better than the old. Oh dear, maybe i am just old 😂.
I love Felicity I have Felicity and I have a horse from American girl and I named her horse Penny. Just like her story. I love Felicity so much and I hope other people do too.

As a Samantha LOVER I will never understand why people dislike her. She is my personal favorite ever American Girl Doll, Nellie is a close second and Marie-Grace is third.

Felicity's eyes truly are the only thing anyone ever talks about with her. No joke, I was at a flea market last year. Lady has Felicity with no clothes, loose limbs, and what I can only assume to be a redo of her meet hair and she wanted 50 bucks for her. Not that I found that unreasonable (especially since it was Felicity), but when I tried to see if she'd negotiate the price down, the first thing she brought up was that this Felicity had THE eyes that everyone was looking for. As a collector who mainly specializes in Samantha, Nellie, and their collections, I wasn't sure what she meant. But now, after doing more research, it seems like THE eyes are the only meaningful selling point Felicity dolls have nowadays.
I have Maryellen, she plays the second youngest child and she is super silly and immature lol 😂
I have two Julie dolls and the only thing I don’t like is her hair gets tangled a lot. I have other long hair doll and Julies hair is the worst.

And this is just my opinion but I feel like Samantha's birthday outfit is identical to Kirsten's birthday outfit and I also think that her pajamas are identical to Rebecca's pajamas and her bed is identical to Rebecca's bed
What people don't understand about her is she is an orphan her parents were missionary people were a very poor family and she gets adopted by her grand Mary and her favorite uncle in the whole world but she goes to school and she speaks out about how the workers and warehouses treat their employees and how kids are having to work she even raises awareness about Nelly O'Malley and her whole family who are all Irish immigrants who came to America and they work for the ryland family she does not like Eddie ryland she takes it upon herself to get that family out of that situation but the parents die in Nellie's family and they are sent to New York to an orphanage she talks about in her school speech how these workers and the labor family struggle for nice things and that she thinks is not fair of how they're treated she teaches Nelly and her sisters how to read and she does everything she can't by visiting the orphanage and bringing items to them with her uncle's new wife that she has to learn to get used to and she wants her uncle to eventually adopt Nelly and her two sisters she also comes across the orphanage keeper taking the donations from the orphanage and putting it in her own personal pocket right then spend it to help get these orphans adopted or clean food clean clothes and things like that she eventually gets Nelly and her sisters out of the orphanage and brought to her uncle's home and she takes care of Nelly sick sisters while Nelly goes out and looks for a job to help take care of her sisters and her biggest Christmas present is that her uncle decides to take in Nelly and her sisters Nelly is determined to work as a laundry girl as a maid if she had to but her uncle says no we already have a maid we want the three of you to be Samantha's sisters our children
Ok I agree on Kristan, people not likeing her, but I disagree with Molly getting hate. I think she gets talked allot and she is on every girl's wish list including mine.
I don't hate any of the dolls, they are who they are. I do have favorites. Addy was my number one favorite, now I have her, my favorite is Carolyn. When/if I find her, I will then get another favorite. LOL. I would love to find Cecile and Marie Grace. I bought a Felicity and tied her hair back and turned her into George Washington.
I really wish there was a way their eyes sockets that hold the eyes and saw the doll was not made of metal and made of a different material and I really wish there was a way for the dolls not to be so melted and where you can get their hair wet in the pool and they can still be water resistant or heat resistant or even able to not get so damaged so much and not look so oily and I've said this before I think it would be super awesome if each brand of American girl doll or American girl company as a whole finds a recipe so that the dolls can have their own shampoo conditioner and hairspray
The only dolls i really dont like are the new twin dolls their eyes scare ne , i dont find felicitys eyes scary at all though? Ok, I'm a bit late to this video but.....First of all, the only doll on this list I agree with is Josephina and Kirsten with some ppl. I personally love Kirsten, I am drawn to her because she is a pioneer that migrated to Minnesota, which makes her the perfect companion to my custom AG Laura Ingalls. I find it quite silly to not like a doll or character based on hair/eye color. Of course, there are certain looks you are more esthetically drawn to, but to actually dislike or not purchase because of these things is quite ridiculous IMO. Also, calling a child character immature is inane....it's fruit logic.... she is a CHILD.
I don't find Samantha or Molly boring. I have and enjoy both. Molly dolls and accessories can be quite pricey. I've never noticed Samantha getting any hate.
Cecile and Grace Marie are 2 of my favorites.....I love Louisiana, we have a second home there and it's where my heart lies. So, I am naturally drawn to them and their stories.I already had Grace and Cecile was my HG and I finally got her recently.
I don't really feel like many dolls get hate or lack of love....ppl just have their faves and that's different for everyone. I will say that in my experience Josephina and Kaya are the most underappreciated. I think that may be because ppl find there looks the most bland or uninspiring.
I only have one doll right now from the be forever historical collection and that is Samantha parkington when I was a child me and my little sister saved up our allowance and she got the pleasant company Felicity and I got molly because I was in 6th grade I was learning about world war II and the Holocaust and we had to move back to Michigan from Colorado so I had to wait till Christmas when we moved into our new house in Michigan to get Molly

Ahhh I really wanna get the new felicity for American girls 35th anniversary, but I also really want Kira and ahhhh I can’t chooseeeee. Also, my cousin had Marie-grace and her mom made her give it away for free. I feel really bad for my cousin since she’s had to get rid of so many dolls and now she only has two.
