When the moist and balmy gale Round the verdant meadow sights, Odours sweet in misty veil At the twilight-hour arise Murmurings soft of calm repose Rock the heart to child-like rest, And the day's bright portals close On the eyes with toil oppressed Night already reigns over all Strangely star linked to star Planets, mighty sparkling small Glitter near and gleam afar Gleam above in clearer night Glitter in the glassy sea Pledging pure and calm delight Rules the moon in majesty Now each well known hour is over Trust the newborn eye of day Vales grow verdant, hillocks teem Shady nooks the bushes yield and with waving silvery gleam Wouldst thou wish for wish obtain Cast the shell of sleep away Tarry not, but be thou bold When the many loiter still All with ease may be controlled
+H Scott Gotta agree with you there and Chuck/Death has always been my favorite. In my opinion Death will always be better. It has more... feeling behind it. If that makes any sense.
+H Scott Can you name me one of those gems? I keep trying to find good technical and progressive metal bands but most of them just don't the feel and emotion that Death or Cynic and all those other old school bands had.
+H Scott thx for taking the time to write this list. ive heard some albums you listed and i liked all of them. im gonna check out some others from this list for sure!
Oh, then sorry for accusing you of torrenting, but it clearly says in the booklet: "Tracks 5-7 recorded, mixed & mastered by Victor Bullock at Studio Bullock, October 2006" and in the lineup it says, Jonas Fischer played the bass, not Thesseling.
Knowing nothing about Illegimitation, you must have torrented it... It's a complication of Obscura's first demo, recorded in 2003 (the first 4 songs), older versions of songs and unreleased ones, recorded in 2006 (5-7, including Incarnated) and three cover thongs with Linus as new bassist, recorded in 2011.
this track is good, but isn't as strong as the first 3. im still trying to digest this album.. the first 3 tracks are so good, by the time I finish this one I have to take a break. I find myself only listening to the first 3 due to pacing

that bass
3:39 VEIL OF MAYAAAAAAAAAA
huge Death vibes on this one!
When the moist and balmy gale
Round the verdant meadow sights,
Odours sweet in misty veil
At the twilight-hour arise
Murmurings soft of calm repose
Rock the heart to child-like rest,
And the day's bright portals close
On the eyes with toil oppressed
Night already reigns over all
Strangely star linked to star
Planets, mighty sparkling small
Glitter near and gleam afar
Gleam above in clearer night
Glitter in the glassy sea
Pledging pure and calm delight
Rules the moon in majesty
Now each well known hour is over
Trust the newborn eye of day
Vales grow verdant, hillocks teem
Shady nooks the bushes yield and with waving silvery gleam
Wouldst thou wish for wish obtain
Cast the shell of sleep away
Tarry not, but be thou bold
When the many loiter still
All with ease may be controlled
master of the bass
Best Obscura song so far!
Still the case with septuagint and akroasis
it was always my fave
Obscura's best song. Love this one
Loving the Death sound

2024 and still jammin this shit loud ass possible. And I will till I die.
Wow this song is really fucking awesome. Just when I thought modern tech-death couldn't create a truly memorable and compelling song.
Still their best song out of all their albums . In my opinion . There is so much melody and seem less transitions it's unreal !
Their best release and lineup
Illegimitation is a bunch of old songs/recordings and 3 covers. and Cosmogenesis is from '09. Like it said in the title.
Actually, the version in Illegimitation was the previous version, this is the redone one.
Oh, I see... I was wrong, thanks for the aclaration! :)

Oh yes, excelent song, lower quality than the version in Illegimitation, but this is the original!

Oh, yes, I know that, but I thought Illegimitation version was the newest. I don't know, Probably you're right!
-.- stole? you can't see it like that, see it as a tribute to a great band that they admire
Is that Chuck Snieder reincarnated?
Schuldiner
@bend2690 i don’t know how to spell his last name the lead singer of Death
But Illegimitation's is from 2012, Cosmogenesis is from 2006...
FAUST
sounds like Death,Cynic, and Atheist thrown into a blender : )
AH OK xD
OMG I know what u mean they stole that riff from Cynic >=(

stop complaining. This is the only song in the album I can do in the guitar. lol
