      I would be ASHAMED to be kin to anyone that works with our corrupt system. It's all about means of revenue generation by incarceration for small drug crimes, so they can get a horrible plea deal, so the state can get a conviction. The war on drugs is a war on people. It's just sick. Drug dealers get 20 years, whilst pedophiles get 3-5. Fucked up world we're in. To see all these people "cheering" these cops sharing these little busts on Facebook of their 14 grams of fent/meth they got off the street, like they're doing any damn thing.....what a bad fucking joke.

    • @Mounty621
      @Mounty621 Рік тому +1

      @@NotOnDrugs So you prefer absolute anarchy in the streets? You're going to get that more and more and already see it in cities where district attorneys are soft on prosecution and sentencing. I agree the sentencing of certain crimes vs drug sentencing is horrific. Having worked narcotics enforcement for 6 years, I know what a losing battle it is because the demand is too high. However, if we don't attack it from several angles, including the street level user, we will have tent cities filled with drug addicted people everywhere akin to Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, etc. How do you feel when your car or house gets burglarized and your property is stolen just to keep your addicts in dope? It's not an easy fix or answer. I will NEVER be ashamed of my career as I and all my partners were doing the best we could with the cards we had/have within the system, which the US system is the best system in all the world regardless of its flaws . . . but this podcast isn't about the system. It's about Kevin Owens and the great work he did within the system. Let's celebrate him and his accomplishments.

      another fella had been in the Irish ☘️ Army..Both good Lads&we got along well (i think they liked the fact of my Roots&,we just clicked!)
      And a lot of them had stayed in San Francisco.. so listening to this 'Dude' def made my ears prick up&
      i.will say this what u have have seen,read or watched on the News just doesn't explain or give any real insight about this Country..it's like another Planet&u either like it&can adapt or u can't!.
      .If u can't,u should leave&back up ur criticisms..but if u stay u just live ur life .Just like this fella(Kevin)he decided to commit himself full hog!.👍

      Same. I remember him as an E-5 taking me aside once and trying to give me career advice which my young, dumb ass wasn't interested in. If I had known how bad-ass he was already at the time maybe I would have listened. He was so unassuming.

    16:00 that was me. I enlisted in the army, got through Basic, went to airborne and was going to be immediately going to RIP to head for the Ranger Battalion, and I blow out my knee at Airborne school, had to go rehab it and take a job in air defense at POS FT BLISS, then to Korea. Nothing at all happened in Korea except clubs, drinking, Russian drink girls playing US soldiers for a bar tab, and STDs left and right.
    I got out as soon as I could. It wasn't what I wanted anymore. I wasnt doing anything worth a damn, I was just an NPC.
    For every guy that gets broke in training, I hope there is a soldier that gets through and makes a difference saving lives. Thanks for the job to the little guys lol.

    Great interview but goes so fast over so much content. Norman Tebbit was maimed for life in the Brighton hotel bombing, the bomb was planted during renovation work, I forget how many were killed. Gibraltar was an SAS operation, planned and executed, if I remember right a car bomb was the impetus for the fire fight. The Mountbatten bombing occurred around the same time so tensions were high...? I was there in the late seventies, early eighties, and your only mode of travel was on foot, chopper, or covert van. Bessbrook, Aughnacloy, crossmaglenn, foxhill, south Armagh...fun times

    I don't think I have been this fascinated by a podcast in a long time. Absolutely riveting stuff. Is there a book anyone recommends on the subject of "the troubles"?

    I was in England in the late 80s when my dad was stationed there in the Air Force, we heard an explosion one day turned out the ira set off a bomb at the local police barracks
