I'd like to make a correction, when the narrator said the weld would be as strong as the material being joined, usually the weld is stronger then the material itself
Why would we need mechanical ventilation when welding / cutting stainless steel ? Is it because of the chrome or the nickel on the alloy ?
Hexavalent Chromium in the metal itself is toxic when heated. Respirators should be worn by the welder and personnel working with the welder.
