Thanks for the video man. I'll be trying this next week with Meyle parts, not your expensive lemforders unfortunately, and your video will be my Bible 🎉
Makes all of the difference :) My front end was way worse and had to be done before I could really start driving it. Have you done the shocks/springs too?
Thanks for making the video, I've got a box full of Lemforder bits to refurbish my E61 535d rear suspension. Not only will I be replacing these two control arms but I'll also be replacing the bushes on the lower arm and the integral link with its balljoint. I've already replaced the rear shock absorbers and air springs so this should make it pretty much feel like a new car! I also have a pair of front track rods and track rod ends to fit and I'm a bit worried that I'll need to refurbish the front suspension again because I went with Meyle HD components rather than Lemforder. I have since read reports that the Meyle HD is not great and tends to wear out in 18-24 months. Very disappointing if true.
Thanks for watching. That’s fantastic, 3.0 Twin turbo N54? Unfortunately I haven’t found any track rod ends that last! The biggest pain is the threads and the locknuts steering rack side :(
Aren't you supposed to have the suspension at ride height before you torque down the rubber bushing side of the arm? If you don't those bushings are going to fail pretty quickly. Thanks for the video. Looking to do this job on mine.
Yes! Sorry I likely cut out that bit. I took it from the workshop to be aligned a couple of days later and got them to loosen and retighten the arms then. Just a little easier than me doing it at the shop. Thank you for mentioning that.
I tightened mine at ride height and still failed after a year and a half. Im about to change this week. Its some BS. I went to get a front alignment and found out the rear control arm some how is bad and i did all rear parts at the same time when i did it

Let us know how it goes!
Recently did this job as well, decided I should just go all out and replace everything up front as well for piece of mind.

@@FindingSeconds Ended up replacing the front for now, as for the rear I plan on making them a project for sometime this winter.
Awesome! I know I need to do the shocks and springs but am waiting until I have solved my electrical gremlins.
Very informative! Thank you for posting!
Glad it was helpful!

Were these lemforder replacements?
Yes! The only way to go in my humble opinion :)
