- Kat didn’t face an easy road while trying out and training for DCC: her living situation was unstable, she was slow to pick up choreo, and - never forget - she performed her solo with a prop cane. After all that, though, she made the team, winning over Kelli, Judy, and all her teammates in the process.

This so much...you can watch this on Pluto (great background study noise oddly enough 🤔) and during a commercial I clicked down to an old episode of "true life" where a young couple were having their amazing young dog PUT DOWN because they couldn't afford it...they had been in the situation since getting the dog and still got it... shows how selfish and irresponsible some people are seeing animals as disposable...there is nothing I wouldn't do to keep my pups happy and healthy even if it meant letting someone else "have" them if I knew they had the resources, etc. while I only get to visit, etc.

That's because you've never been in the situation to have to make that desperate choice. Her situation wasn't that bad if she had that choice to make. I knew people who had to choose between their animals or kids, so obviously, the animals had to go...
@@beyourself2444 I do work in underserved communities and have been desperate (homeless) before. Just because someone is financially desperate doesn't mean they think of animals as disposable. Just like with adoption, they realize there are better homes for them and give them an opportunity to be in a better place.
That is not always the case. Many not desperate people treat animals as disposable. I had a neighbor who would buy dogs as puppies and then as soon as they were adults, give them to a shelter. She saw animals as accessories. I knew another woman who gave away her cat because the luxury condo in ATL didn't accept pets.
We are talking about different groups of people.
I could not care less about the criticism regarding this girl.. I love her!! She is spunky, talkative and quirky! Some people may be annoyed by that and think she is extra but I find her to be very charming. She's also gorgeous and a powerful dancer. She may have struggled last year but I admire her perseverance and from the few performances they were able to have before Covid, she truly appeared to be doing a great job on the team. So glad to hear that she made the squad again!

I wasn't sure about Kat at first, but she sold me with her confidence. She told herself and everyone that she would make the team and never gave herself another option. That kind of manifestation is magical. And talk about never giving up! Anything worth having is worth working your ass off for, and she showed that.

Do white women share in her experience of getting called the N word while playing tennis? I think not. (While you're busy complaining, you may to watch her clip again and actually listen to her experiences as a black woman that she already mentioned.) You don't share in black representation, whether positive, negative or how little we have. Not you're place to correct black people for lifting her up at all. I was so mad that they were making it impossible for Kat versus Meredith and Lily that season. Of all the girls, Kat had the DCC package. Her personality and talent were spot on and she is so down to earth. I am so happy she continues to be a part of DCC.
They wanted Kat soooooooooo bad from the start! She manifested it and wanted to make at all costs! I love how they really worked with her and she really took their critiques as motivation to go harder every time! Kat put in so much work after and deserved becoming a DCC! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Like how Kat remains upbeat and positive through her mistakes and how she keeps the office discussions light and flowing with straight talk about being more of a practice makes perfect person than a one time perfect person. She's more real and relatable.

I have to say, that I wasn't a Kat fan initially. But, after seeing this video I realize what an inspiration she is for girls who have not had it easy.

i get why despite not being an extraordinary dancer and constantly making mistakes they let her make the team, she’s so fun and spunky and like they said she rlly is one of the prettiest girls on the team, plus she seems really genuine with her efforts
There's something so special about her, she's got that spark and you just want to watch her
One of the rare instances when we're shown a candidate being told where there are issues and what she needs to work on. Obviously it's edited and they put the most dramatic conversations into the show, but so often it appears that a candidate has never been spoken to or given any advice, then they're called into the office and just cut.
Kat is such a bright spark. You know if you’re down she’ll pull you up.
Kat used to be a Charlotte honeybee Dancer and also appeared in the honey bees swimsuit calendar!!! 4 years Also was actually a Charlotte 49ers goldusters dance team!!

there were people who asked for cassie's, including me at one point before finding out that she was a mean girl who only made it so far because of her mother (my bad)

I don’t know how to put this where it doesn’t sound patronizing, but that’s not the intent. The point is I’m so proud Kat made it through, faced and conquered every obstacle put in front of her. All of which she did while staying true to herself!
I can empathize greatly with what she went through growing up. Both of my daughters went through very similar situations. Growing up in an area where it’s 98% white and you’re not, it either makes a person or it breaks a person!
I’m glad to see a young woman who is so sweet, beautiful and talented bust her ass to make her dreams come true! It’s a real inspiration for future little girls chasing their dreams! I wish her the very best in her future!

I love Kat's personality, she improved to the point she is amazing. She is a great role model for young girls.
I was never all that fond of her until I rewatched her rookie season where she was always bubbly and trying to find a place to live and she said she would rather be homeless with her cat (I have 4 with a 10 year old black cat and triplet 6 year old Russian Blues and all are rescues). When Kelly brought her in and she started to cry because her mom didn’t know she was homeless broke my heart. She struggled and she completed 4 years and even became group leader. Way to go Kat!
