Ronaldo's my favourite player and will always be. In his prime at Madrid and during his early Man Utd years, he was really, really special. Almost like watching ballet. But Messi's just different. Nowadays people like to shit on CR7 because of the recency bias, although the fact that there even was a debate in the first place-and that it was so close, especially from the 2013-2017 period-is already amazing.
When Ronaldo started in Premier League it was not a tougher league than La Liga, also today English teams have problems against Spanish teams. Premier League it is played at a higher pace, but because majority of the pitches are smaller in England than in Spain. An other aspect is that Messi is the 5th best scorer against PL teams and he never played in England.

Cristiano is not top 2 in assists he is in the top 5 or 6 behind muller

Isn't that 1283 number widely disputed since many of those goals came in friendlies and against amateur teams. His official match goals are way less closer to 800. Still incredible but I'm not sure exhibition goals should be counted in official records. 🤔 I'm no expert curious what everyone else thinks.

I was just asking a question.. I wasn't claiming personal knowledge but a simple google search for pele goals brings up hundreds of articles from main news sites around the world that say his numbers are disputed breaking down his official goals with Santos and the world cup team from the more nebulous friendlies and exhibition games. For example, it seems like that would be like a pro baseball player counting their minor league stats in with their major league stats and saying those new numbers should be used when talking about their career stats. It's just not accepted because those two offer vastly different levels of play. Next you'd have players counting their college, high school and little league stats in their overall totals. Why have official match stats if unofficial matches count towards your stats also. 🤔
