Sifu is an action-adventure video game developed and published by French studio Sloclap. The game is set to be released for Windows, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on 8 February 2022.
A kung fu student sets out to fulfil a life-long vendetta: hunt down and defeat the five assassins who brutally murdered their family. The game is set in a modern Chinese city and is mostly grounded in reality, though magic exists in the world as the protagonist possesses a magical talisman that revives them whenever they suffer a fatal injury in combat, with the downside being that they age a specific number of years with each resurrection and will eventually die once the talisman's magic is used up.
Sifu is an action-adventure game played from a third-person perspective. The game, which is inspired by Pak Mei kung fu, includes over 150 unique attacks. Basic attack moves can be chained together, though some combos may grant players additional tactical opportunities, such as being able to knock down enemies or stun them. The protagonist and all hostile enemy characters have a "structural gauge". When the gauge is completely filled, the guard of these characters will break and they will become vulnerable to finishing attacks. Players can also block strikes, though this will gradually fill their gauge. Alternatively, players can also evade attacks or parry when an enemy is about to land a blow. A successful parry allows the player to stun the enemy or throw them towards a particular direction. The game allows players to take advantage of the environment and improvise new attacks or alter their strategy when facing a stronger opponent. For instance, the player may kick an enemy off a ledge, or utilize various objects as makeshift weapons. The last enemy in a combat section may sometimes enter a state of uncontrolled frenzy, essentially becoming a miniboss. Occasionally, the player may be presented with dialogue options, which can enable them to potentially avoid combat altogether depending on their choice of words. - Ігри

That corridor fight scene with the poles was deffo paying homage to old boy. That film has a scene where he takes on an entire corridor of enemies from the same camera angle and it’s all filmed in one shot. Awesome !

It's crazy to realize I've been watching your videos since 2010 starting with Dead Rising 2. My most memorable walkthrough of yours was The Last of Us - the first time a video game made me emotional. At the time, I didn't have a PS3 and I remember how amazing it was to be able to experience a masterpiece of a video game like that through someone else's playthrough. Dont forget to use avoid(hold L1+back or forward left analog stick), great way to avoid armed enemies and structure build up. Great vid and hope to see more!

Keep an eye on your "stance meter" that is located at the bottom of your screen in the middle. As that bar gets full it will turn red. Once it is red them you will become vulnerable to strikes as they would break through your guard and you are easily staggered. So think if the stance meter as a stamina meter, so once you lose that you do not have enough strength to block incoming hits.
You will need to break contact and not attack unless that bar is low and out of the red or is not about to go from yellow to red. So use dodge to evade hits until your stance bar is low. Then start you attack again. Also mix up your combination strikes with high and lows attack. When your opponent is coming at you in a run as some fights will pull their hands back and rush you That is the time to use the leg sweep. If he is standing on both feet it is harder to land that move however, it he is running he stance is weaker.

Since Brad's already spamming parries in the first few seconds of the video, it's worth mentioning that parries don't increase the meter - BUT parrying an opponent mid-combo doesn't always interrupt. Most combo attacks let the opponent keep hitting even when you parry correctly, so you sometimes have to parry multiple hits in a row to avoid the big chunk of structure damage. Also worth mentioning that "dodge" is different from "evade" (R2 is the dodge button, holding L1 and using the left stick lets you evade). Dodging is pretty weak in defensive terms, but lets you maintain distance and control position. Evade is your strongest defensive option, because it doesn't just negate structure damage like a parry, it removes it for you.
If you want to really dive deep into the mechanics, some attacks are better to parry and others to evade, because each gives you different potential openings.
High dodge low dogde that's what you gotta do with the weapon guys especially. You can't block or deflect everything. Dodge and timing with counter attack is key. Not blocking or deflecting.

The way he played it was frustrating though. Not dodging, picking updrades too far in the future/using xp and then updgrading, skipping rooms and other stuff by not paying attention.

The first time I found your channel was a fps game called "Syndicate" back in 2012. My uncle actually recommended that game for me when I had my Xbox 360. The first category in the shrine upgrades is the max age you can be to acquire that upgrade, not what age it takes effect. So that's why the weapon durability and health recovery greyed out after you past age 25 and 40 respectively.

I absolutely love anything related to martial arts. I was in Karate when I was younger and this game looks crisp as hell combat wise. I've been waiting to see a good chunk of gameplay to determine whether or not it was going to be as good as expected.

People who are expecting part2...It is quite a difficult game.I believe there will be 5 levels in total and at the end of each level you will have to fight the boss.
I cleared level1 at age 32.
Level2 is way tougher than level1, by the time I reached to face the boss of level2, I became 70 years old and the main catch is once you become 70 yrs old and died. Your game is over and it cant be resumed from the point where you died last. Therefore, You will have to replay that entire level.
This just happened to me 🤦🏽♂️

I really like this game. The first few times you go through level 1 it's tough but eventually you're stomping on basically every enemy and have little difficulty getting up to the botanist at age 20. I read online that you should try to get to Sean before age 30 and to harvest exp from the early stages
Or you can do multiple runs getting as far as you can every time and permanently unlocking skills then every next time gets better and better

I love your youtube channal and I the fact is that I found your youtube channal when I was just 11 so about 6 years ago its amazing to see you do games that I could'nt play.
This game is incredibly fun and once you get a grasp for the focus mechanics you fly through enemies. Finally made it to the club at 25 years old. Once i find an easier way to beat the botanist I’ll get there at 21. You just have to take it level by level and practice patience, getting antsy you’ll gain negative momentum and lose years in a matter of seconds.
I just killed the botanist, I left my Dojo at 20 came back 29 😭😭😭😭! Club is my next one

Update: I got annihilated in the club and the boss fight, got to 75 and died , my parrying is so shit ffs, started again and now I’m about to enter the club aged 26 ! This game is fucking frustrating but boy do I love it 😍

Game looks amazing, from what I seen the death mechanics are super well done. Also from what I’ve seen the detective board and finding clues are super rewarding. I definitely want to try to play this one
