hehe they are both great camera but like I said in the end they almost do the same quality of quality. the accessories and how to make it light is what matters the most. Sony, panasonicu are all amazing camera that makes your job easier
I think the autofocus argument is a bit misleading in your context, pulling manual focus is a learned skill and not a downside. The manual focus being the norm for filmmaking isn't an arbitrary rule but a form of quality assurance because at the end of the day autofocus will never beat a trained focus puller in consistency and the ability to have artistic direction with focus. All that's not to say using autofocus is bad, and it has its pros in run and gun videography applications. But bringing it up in the context of a "cinema camera" in talking about making feature films is a non issue in my opinion when the goal is artistic direction.
@@joshuabaldassarre sure but for my style where I do feature film alone , witch is the concept of this channel and my way of doing this , autiofocus changed my life and when use right you won’t see a different between manual and auto.. there not a good or bad method . @@stateofability I would say any 5 or 7 inch hdmi monitor will do the trick no need to spend that much on that . Go on Amazon and pick any they will all do kinda of the same
I love my Blackmagic Pocket, but you're absolutely right-it sucks with run-and-gun shooting. Many shots in my solo projects ended up being unusable due to poor focus. I'm considering investing in the Dji lidar, or simply changing camera. However, one thing the camera excels at is the user interface. Navigating the menus is so much simpler than any other camera I've used.
The feature that you’re referring to at 10:20 is DMF (Direct Manual Focus). It’s been on pretty much all Sony mirrorless models.
Shit. I want a Black Magic so badly because I love the color science but you're making me lean towards a Sony now!

What do you back up your footage on when you travel? SSDs or HDDs?
@@footage5341 I edit on ssd and backup on hdd using backblaze

Just curious. At what aperture range have you ended up shooting your films overall?
@@footage3914 i mostly shoot 2.8 for all interior scenes and around 4-5 for outside
Loving the new channel so far,
especially on the Blackmagic vs Sony showdown.
