I had the twin to yours, best bike I’ve ever owned ,my wife and I rode thousands of miles up and down the east coast.great memories, thanks for the post.
@@sandy5548 I actually traded a standard Valkyrie for it. I have another standard Valkyrie with a tourer windshield and interstate seat. I like that bike pretty good. I imagine the interstate will make long trips much more enjoyable. The heat from the radiator is a little rough when it's already 90+ degrees out.
it took me a while to convert my Interstate Valkyrie into a Super Valk. it's really nice to have two vehicles in one. at one moment it's a touring cycle, in the next it's a big engine sport bike!
Nice video. Very nice bike. But you started with the fairing and bags on. Your "conversion" was changing the seat and adding a trunk. Not that I could do any better, but I've seen these bikes without fairing and trunk and they look bad ass.
Maybe it's not a sport bike but lately I had an occasion to ride Valk. I was really impresed with that bike and it's decided that I'm going to get one. Regards.
thanks George!! I ride by myself 95% of the time, and when I do have a passenger, or if I'm going to take my kids for a ride, it only takes a few minutes to turn a "cruiser" into a "touring" cycle.
Damn thing doesn't have REVERSE!!!! I haven't watched this video in YEARS, and I was just thinking about that same thing then saw your comment!!! Funny!
“Are we there yet” ? Sorry, I might have dozed off for a few minutes. Did I miss anything? Did he say something interesting? Anyway - nice bike, thumbs up.
thanks, it's not my idea, I just posted the end results of my conversion. go to; www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/board,4.0.html and you can search their archives to get information on doing it. I spent a good year getting stuff together and researching how it's done.
I am wondering if you can share how you relocated your radio antenna? I just did mods to make my 1999 Interstate a convertible Super Valk like yours same color even, but have not moved the antenna yet as I want to make sure it will be solid enough and the cord will reach first. Thank You for any information you can share.
I got a 1 inch wide piece of aluminum, drilled a hole to accept the antenna base, then mounted it under my saddle bag. I didn't like the huge factory antenna, so I swapped it out for a shorter one off a truck.
Great exhibition of the transition! A question, if you might help me out. As you arrive in the driveway, at 0:14 seconds, under the front of the frame, there's a small DANGLING Item. It's easily visible through 3:45. What is that please? Again, excellent video!
It is a bell or more specificially a Gremlin Bell. It gives you good and keeps you safe. The rule is you can not purchase it for yourself. Someone has to give it to you.
no kit, just the benefits of owning a Honda Valkyrie! I'm sure that this sort of thing can be done with any touring cycle. well, maybe not the Goldwing, but it might be interesting if the Honda Goldwing F6B had a removable trunk, then you could do the same thing (maybe). thanks for the comments.
Do you have a photo / explanation of what you did to the brackets?? I find they're too tight together and need a lot of force to "spread" in order to get onto the bike.
Hey Justin, I took the bracket apart and used some double sided tape to mount the brackets side by side, then milled the slots. I put the brackets back on the cycle then finger tightened all hardware, then remounted the trunk on the brackets before tightening it all together. Hope that helps.
@@jadoiron no. It's the same footprint. I think what you've got going wrong is your trunk brackets aren't square to the cycle. I honestly don't have a problem putting my trunk back on. Loosen the mounting bolts, put the trunk on the cycle then wiggle it a little to get it to settle, then tighten up the trunk bolts.
@@albertlavorata9359 no worries at all! But no they're exactly how they were (at least when I removed them. Perhaps they were reversed when I got the bike). Either way, I feel that of they WERE reversed, it still doesn't make up for the force needed to spread them. I'll reevaluate!
Hello alph! Great motorcycle! i would buy it but i'm very little man, about 165 cm (5'5''). Do you think i can touch with foot? what is seat height? Thank you from Italy
i am 5' 9" (177cm). you can get different rear shocks to lower the seat height. also, a different seat will work as well. chow. mia madre da Cellamare e mio padre da Piane Crati

Even if you weren't rushing a little, still impressive and easy to convert. Well done.
Hi there Mr. You are wonderful and what a cool looking Valkyrie! I'm impressed. Thanx for sharing J/Sweden
Wow thanks for showing me this. I have a Goldwing and wanted a bagger but wife wants tour pack... best of both worlds
I'm new to the Valkyrie World
Just got my 2003 Valkyrie, loosing my sleep with all the plans on my mind ;-)
I love that Valk, wish I had bought one rather than my Goldwing. Even though my wing is a damn good bike.
Thank you for this video... can you please show a more detailed video possibly of this process?? Thanks!

What makes a Valkyrie a "Super" Valk? I have googled the term but was unable to find an answer.

I've had my '99 GL-1500 model for 7 years, no issues with it but I would like to get me an old school v-max just to ride something different.
I love it without the trunk, actually. I saw a black beauty w no trunk and a shorty black windshield, it was gorgeous.
Me too! I love my standard Valkyrie but I think the interstate looks great...without that big bulbous trunk!
I find myself never riding with a trunk anymore. Kids have grown up, and if the wife wants to go for a ride, we take the convertible.

Does this require a Mod of any kind? I jsut bought an interstate same color scheme as yours! Thanks in advance for the response
Hey Brandon, you have to cut slots in the mounting holes, buy a center brake light, and run a wire for the center brake light. All not hard to do.
how did you mount your antenna i have the sister bike to this beauty
Sorry for the delay. I wish I could post pictures here, but it's a simple plate under the saddle bag.

here in america a good price for an interstate model is $5000 to $7000 depending on miles.
