Hello. Thank you for the tutorial. Can you tell me where to buy the slim midi keyboard the talked about during this lesson. I should be great for people with sausage fingers, like me.
May i know..how to put some extra pattern like if i make just a lead sheet but i want let drummer to know how the pattern is..or there is a note..but i want to put different break time above the stave or 0ut drum pattern above the stave.
Currently you need to add a word in verse 1 and then select it and in the properties panel click on the verse number. Press 'ok' in the dialog to add '1' to the verse number (so that it's '2'). Then you can continue adding lyrics to verse 2. If you have a qwerty keyboard attached you can press the down-arrow to change to verse 2 as you can in the desktop version.
@@flybyray I'm not sure I understand the question, sorry. You can select items/bars and press 'R' to repeat them. You can also use the Shift-R popover and type % for a bar repeat. Maybe join the Dorico group on Facebook as you can also post images there of what you need? facebook.com/groups/dorico
Hi - we're investigating. In the mean time you can start a project and then click on the menu in the top right corner and use the Project Info option to add your title.
You can use the Shift-B bars popover if you have a keyboard, or use the system track, or use the panel on the right hand side - press the button on the right that shows a final barline. steinberg.help/dorico_ipad/v1/en/dorico/topics/notation_reference/notation_reference_bars/notation_reference_bars_deleting_t.html
Hallo, have a question. I am playing Tyros 5 from Yamaha and it is posible to read the score in color notes. Do=Red Re= yellow Mi=green Fa=orange Sol=blue La= Purper Si=grey if homebody could help me in this way it would be great. The reason is that I want to play on a pc, and reading the score, because I always read the notes I don't play Dany other way. Thanks if someone can help me finding this way of reading scores.
You can switch to the FigureNotes colours on the desktop version of Dorico or use this Boomwhackers file: facebook.com/groups/dorico/permalink/3726205067657218
Yes. Select a bar and press R to repeat it (or the repeat button in the top toolbar under the play button) or use the system track to select that bar in all instruments first.
I find the location of the rhythm values awkward. I’d like to be able to enter the pitches with my right hand and the rhythm values with my left hand, but my hands will be tied up where the rhythm values are currently.
I'm not sure if you mean with the on-screen controls and piano keyboard on the iPad or with a qwerty keyboard but there are lots of options, you can mix and match, also attach a midi keyboard or change shortcuts if that suits you better.
@@dorico I’d like to use Dorico on my iPad without a keyboard or a MIDI controller. Once I have a keyboard and a MIDI controller attached, I might as well use a laptop. The rhythm values sit just above the key editor or onscreen piano keyboard. Right now I can change rhythm values by using my finger/pencil, but then I have no use for my left hand and it feels awkward to move my pencil back and forth from the key editor to the rhythm values. If I use my left hand to speed things up, then it currently crosses over the score area and often over where I my right hand is. If the rhythm values were available on the left hand side of the screen, then I could see the score, enter notes with the right hand and change the values with the left hand.
@@jolondixon2311 you can slide the piano keyboard more to the right? It's similar to using the numbers on the qwerty keyboard and letters for pitches. If we enabled opening the left and lower panels at the same time there's not much space left on the iPad screen. If we move the buttons permanently in the lower zone more to the left then other people might prefer them on the other side. Unless we make it somehow completely customisable (a lot to work) then it's difficult to please everybody. I personally recommend attaching a qwerty keyboard for speed generally.
I’d like to just use my Apple pencil when I want to work on the iPad. As mentioned, once I add a qwerty keyboard, then I might as well use my laptop with a fully-featured Dorico Pro. To be cheeky, something like the numberpad in Sibelius or another floating palette might help with the rhythm values and the grid changer on it. I want to mainly use the key editor rather than the piano keyboard. Regards screen space, there can be ways to fold away or reveal elements with long-presses and in general, I’d like to have more gestures I could learn rather than taking up space with buttons. And if people work differently to one another, the interface could be customisable. Left handed people might like it different to me, naturally.
Why is Dorico not available on Android phones yet? It shouldn't be this hard. It's been more than 3 years but we can't use it on Android tablets. This is very sad. It's the final. You are now a big company in the market. Come on, you should also release an Android version. It's unfair to Android users. Please solve this as soon as possible.
@@mk-musicproduction Is fine in the start of the phrases, but then goes to a super pianisimo at the end…Ís not a critic, is that I'm interested to get the most of your class. And I love the explanation. And is not my end. Maybe is yours.
I agree. Sentence fade at end. I turned on captions - much better. I know we're getting this free, but the program interface is super-packed and this effort to explain things is not the best. Sorry.
Being an educator, I find teaching (demonstrating?) unprepared like this and apparently on the fly a waste. Let me know if/when Dorico will publish a straight forward well organized tutorial - I know it's free, but still disappointing. Dorico's interface has a bit of a learning curve. This video added to the frustration. Sorry.
Hi. We have a number of Resources to teach you how things work and where to find them on blog.dorico.com/resources/ Maybe start with the short 'getting started PDF' or the 'first steps guide'?
Thank you John. This was very helpful, from Alan in Yorkshire.
I just installed Dorico on this iPad and this seems like it will really get me off and running! Thanks!
Thank you John for a very clear and helpful video! I love Dorico!
You are welcome!

Hey, how to hide bars number above staff that are 1 2 3 above tempo in video?
I have the free version of Dorico for I pad…My symbol for inputting a second voice won’t light up. Do I need the paid version please?
Hi, what are modes of play? Is there are different? Chords can be played too?

Can we use the apple pencil for write notes?
Not currently. There are many more accurate ways of writing notes though.
