Yes. I am back in time. A young man again. Where people had to manually do things. Math by hand. Go to the library to research. Read books. A time where people had to exercise their mind. Aw yes it has been so long. Reminds me of when I was a young man. Such great times. People were actually great to each other back then. I miss those times. Segregated food lines, workplaces, transit system, shopping centers, baseball leagues, football leagues, school systems, colleges. Back when my old car got 14 miles per gallon and women were treated right by men. As long as they stayed in the house and did not think too much. Nickel packs of gum, quarter for the matinee, white people only drink fountains, teach raps my knuckles in public school, I light a smoke in the library and puff it in the face of my friends. Miss those days
Dont agree. We are in a golden age of original shows. The Expanse on Prime Video is probably the best Sci Fi show ever made. Great production, action, acting, set design, writing. Its fantastic. Game of Thrones is a top 3 show ever. Sherlock is quite possibly the best series of any genre ever. Then just look at all the greats from the last 15 years. Derek, House, NCIS, CSI, The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Stranger Things. The Americans, Justified, Mad Men, Hannibal, Lucifer... And thats just off the top of my head. These are all great due to excellent writing. As for radio shows, there's not much out there so i stick to audiobooks.
Not true. We have the benefit of time as the best filter when listening to old shows. Only the best examples have survived, so you’re not hearing a proper representation of what was on offer at the time.
I don't agree. These stories are entertaining but some are very over top and don't go into detail or elaborate the whole story or use cheap writing / earlier cliches from earlier works of scifi. Not all the stories are bad but most are eh but there are a few really good ones.
Appreciate the library lol what a treasure trove! Listening to this one during today getting work done! Thanks for keeping everything posted! Cheers my friend! 💛✌🏼💫

I've always had a heart for this radio stuff and also for sporting events that are or were broadcast over the airwaves and when I had a child we would both lay on the 'big' bed in my room and listen to the hockey game on the radio and then his love for programes such as this one et al and sitting in a darkened room with the weather putting on its own show outside and the radio keeping one company and entertained for hours to come. I miss that.
I kind of like these old radio shows you have to use your imagination to fill in the blanks. At about 4 minutes and 30 some seconds did anybody see the grim reaper in the window he's there
I read "A Logic Named Joe" in a science fiction anthology of short stories in the early 1960s. It was a remarkably prescient description of the internet.
This is wonderful! Wisconsin Public Radio had a 3-hour Old Time Radio show each Saturday and Sunday for decades, and these Dimension X shows were some of my favorites. Thanks for compiling them here in one place. I'm curious as to whether you've ever posted any of the Mindwebs shows by Michael Hanson that were on Wisconsin Public Radio several decades ago? I'd love to hear them again. They were similar to these Dimension X shows, except they were all read by Michael Hanson. They had great production values and included many sci-fi stories from some of the greats, as well as good ones from lesser-known sci-fi authors.

I love how so many of these stories feature planets with a species that has no nation states, no borders, no division, just a single unified world power. Such simplistic writing. One sees no reason why, a planet with intelligent life would operate in unison as little more than mindless drones to a single world power. Indeed, can you name a single observable lifeform that we know of that acts in such a way globally? Life seeks to survive and outcompete. Social colonies are really to be viewed as a single organism competing against other colonies for survival. This seems to me then, likely then to apply in an extraplanetary capacity as well. As such one would imagine that members of an alien species would be as divided on their home world as we are on ours. So many stories to be told in that, and yet no one tells them
Spaceship blows up. “Why, why does it always have to be the best man? Always the best man.” Better question: Why does the spaceship always have to blow up?
Going on what they said about predictions, the predictions they made, then were fantastic. Were anyone to have been 85% accurate, the person making the predictions would have been laughed at and possibly locked in a padded cell.
