Do nursing courses follow the same grading system as the rest of Ryerson courses (4.33 scale)? Do they have pass/fail classes?

Yes, the undergraduate nursing programs (BScN) align with Ryerson's GPA scale up to 4.33. A passing grade in each required nursing course is 63% equal to a C (2.00 GPA). A passing grade in any of the other required courses for the degree (includes nursing related such as Anatomy and Physiology, liberal studies electives and professionally related electives such as Psychology & Sociology courses) is 50% equal to D- (0.67 GPA). The only Pass/ Fail graded courses are the nursing practice courses (clinical placement) that require a Pass in order to continue to the next semester/ year and take all the corresponding courses with that semester. Year 1 semester 1 which normally just had lab and classroom based learning focussed on professional communication, fundamental nursing skills and theory integration was part of the introduction to nursing practice course without any clinical placement/ rotation in any health care settings, although this component would need to be confirmed since their degree program just changed this past Sept.
