"Deep sea dragon fish!"
Aagh!
"... is only 10 centimeters"
Aaaw
At least of what they could get. I imagine there are bigger versions of that terrifying fish out there. But I also want you to think about this, if sea creatures are remotely ugly, have you ever thought, what could also be living in the underground as we speak? could there be terrestrial type species with intelligence? would there be any terrestrial dragons?

Exactly! Alien could be leaving in the deep waters for all we know & we don't even bother.
Well we know there is life on earth and it's ocean, yea!?
So the point of searching for alien life is ??
Well I guess you know the answer, right?
*This glowing fish is still infinitely less interesting than extra terrestrial life, and knowing everything about it probably won't yield a lot of useful knowledge for humanity.*
We know there's life in ocean as the explorations are on and so are the results. But we have no idea about alien life. How sensible was it compare both..... I have no clue.
@Joseph Elijah Bruh idc what kind of mating display it has it's still a fish. Science would be advanced forever if we found a life form that didn't evolve the exact same way all the life forms here on earth did.

The world you mean..
Who?
I can’t understand how a fish that can withstand thousands of pounds psi can survive in a bowl.
Was thinking exactly the same thing. Sounds crazy...but decompression?
I was thinking it was dying, had that same thought though..
So long as the pressure inside the fish is the same as outside the fish - which it is, whether in a bowl or at the very bottom of the sea - the fish doesn't care at all. What is hard to understand about that?
@@craigcorson3036 I dont think you get the concept of pressure and bringing something up to a lesser pressure surface.. that bowl is not nowhere near the same pressure as the deep sea.. if a human swims deep and comes up to fast it can cause harm internally.. same goes for fish, no bowl is gonna give that much pressure 🤦♂️
@@eyesto_the_sky Yeah, no shit. As long as the pressure is lowered slowly enough - and marine biologists know _exactly_ how to do that - then there is no problem. The fish doesn't care if it's at atmospheric pressure, or at 1,000 atmospheres. I think it's clearly YOU who doesn't understand.

How is it surviving at the lower pressure?
By
Bug in matrix ???
I had the same question! I hope they answer you ^_^
Many deep sea creatures can survive pressure change (shallow water fish rarely survive the deep though). In fact it's usually the temperature that kills them rather than the pressure, Oarfish travel thousands of vertical meters to feed.
In short, with some care, a biologist can keep deep sea fish alive for several weeks.
They also swim to the surface at night.

Small fins indicate that it's not a fast swimmer, so it seems like it's a defense mechanism.
Animals having bright colours is considered a give-away for poison but i doubt you can see a whole lot that deep under water so maybe lighting up like a Christmas tree is a necessary for the fish to repel predators.
(Just a theory)
Or to attract mates or as another display.
@@Mr.Santoyo American politics deserve to be mocked ;)
I know that the red light is for hunting, because more things in the deep sea than not aren't able to see the red. But there's plenty of fish with similar tactics to evade predators by using blue bioluminescent light. So I'm also going to assume that's the purpose it serves.
Excuse me, these guys didn't jump to conclusions for a reason. Unless you have a ten year degree in Biology and a lifetime of experience as well.
Some things down there light up when attacked and it is to attract another predator to hopefully attack the one currently eating it. Who knows with this thing though.

the aaahh they did when it lit up , scared the hell out of mee
I need some answers here. From what I've learned, the bodies of the deep sea creatures are made to withstand enormous pressure deep in the ocean whereas their bodies couldn't handle the pressure from above i.e. the blobfish for example who looks cute underwater but when fished out, it looks like a monster from MIB.
So how come this little monster is still intact above the ocean swimming very energetically on a Tupperware container?
I was wondering about the pressure difference. It might be dying and the light emission might be a physiological response to it.
