Great video. Love your setup. Well thought out and man it puts out the shot for sure. When It stopped up the first thing i said was why wouldn't he just hit it with the torch...LOL Dramatic pause just to keep us in suspense. Thanks for sharing and great content....keep it coming.
Yes sometimes it takes that front part a little extra time to get hot enough to release the lead and I was getting a little too much build up of lead which would make the head pressure too high so I had to get it going
Have you done #8 shot? Or only 7 1/2? Im so glad i found your videos... i have a few sources of lead (gun clubs) and am thinking of making my own shot...my wife and i shoot trap and we go thru the lead...
@droberts6579 i am in southeastern Indiana 10 min from ky or ohio where abouts in Ky are you very interested in getting to make my own shot.. I got a great lead source.. As i already make some sinker and round balls and other stuff.. Please get with me if you have a few mins to spare.. Thanks Justin
Hey Justin, I'm in Monticello KY . Just any lead won't do. Soft lead won't work unless you add the correct amount of antimony and tin. I use old style wheel weights before they started making them out of zink .
Good stuff Sir, casting shot is next on my list. Thanks, Mike.
Thanks

It's a fun project.
Yes sir, thank you very much. I need to find me a tank and more lead, then I'll be ready to buy! 🏃♂👍

Yes you can run #8. Drill .024 drill size
Do you have to use aluminum for your lead pot or can you use any metal? Thanks
Aluminum is used because of it's superior heat transfer but I'm sure 1/8 thick steel would work to some degree. Give it a try and report back.
What water soluble oil do you use
It's called type B, it's the same thing that machinists use to cool their cutting tools
How do you control the burner temp?
You don't have to control it, I run it wide open. It don't over heat because the ingots you add ever 30 seconds keeps it at the correct temp.
Have you tried #4 shot?
No, l sell a lot of shot to trap shooters and most people want # 6
@@droberts6579 cannot find turkey shells, so I figured I would load .y own.
