- In this video, we arrive into Heathrow (EGLL) from Phoenix (KPHX) as BAW38P. However, because technology is great my rudder pedals became unplugged in the flare and this resulted in me skidding off the runway. Sad times.
I wasn't going to upload the crash and replace it with a re-recorded landing but sometimes this stuff happens to us so it's worth showcasing.

Let me simply get some points with facts:
Our sim looks 1000 times better and we did not pay 300€ for add ons.
We have a free b737 700/800/900/max8 that’s almost PMDG level
And we have better flight dynamics.
Also we have an A320 that’s almost as good as yours. A beautiful b757/767 and an MD80 soon an MD11. Maybe a B777 as good as our A320 and many other planes with flight dynamics you can only dream of.
I agree that P3D has better Boeing aircraft. But it’s just a matter of time till Xplane will dominate the Flight sim world.
And we can all agree...
At least we don’t play FSX
@@phoenixfloof9799 But Lockheed Martin made Prepar3D. Real pilots said that flight dynamics aren't so realistic as you say. XPlane 11 is good, I don't say it's bad, but XPlane 11 is technically a video game, but Prepar3D is made for training. I don't think, Lockheed Martin would want to sell a simulator that has unrealistic flight dynamics.

Where did you get that? Could you sell me that crack you smoked cause it sounds like you’re high as fuck.
P3D and FSX use physics based on tables while Xplane simulates the actual dynamics. Lockheed Martin made the sim but still almost every company uses Xplane.
The intention was to make FSX a bit better but the Xplane rolled out.
Since then P3D is used as a Hobby sim platform but not as a simulation for real companies.
NASA, DLR and every professional simulator used for real pilots uses Xplane with aircraft that are developed to simulate the systems.
Show me a serious Company researching new systems for aviation using P3D or FSX although they have the money for Xplane but don’t do it because it’s more realistic.
And no pilot said that P3D is more realistic.
Maybe they said that before Xplane existed but it’s simply not true.
The aircraft in P3D struggle to react to wind. If you think that once you fly P3D you can fly a real GA aircraft in crosswind because you trained it in a realistic simulator then have fun dying.
BTW those pilots saying P3D is better were talking about systems NOT dynamics
With all respect to your videos which have inspired me since 2014. I gotta say I'm again reminded how happy I am switching sim platform to Xplane 11. Those stutters and texture loadings give me goose bumbs.

Awesome. Just watched watched the departure and arrival all at once. Nothing beats the good old 747-400. I loved that sunrise too - f-ing beautiful!!! Glad to see your back. Hopefully we see you back for longer this time, but I'll understand if that doesn't happen. Also, that thumbnail is stunning! And it was a shame that the rudders had to bring such a great flight to a bad end.

Love it vid Matt. The wind calculation is kind of a rule of thumb, if it's a direct xwind/tailwind is +5 knots. If it's a headwind or a slight xwind (but mainly a headwind) anything
The music that you can hear in the time lapse is called ‘Atmospheric Groove’ by Maxvic, you have to pay about £18 to listen to it fully ☺️ (for those of you wondering)

BA taxi to gate time has really come down. From runway to gate in a few seconds.
Just taking a wild guess but long haul flight of 9 hours, possibly your computer went into a power saving mode and disabled your USB port where your rudder is plugged-in. I had that happen to me before on long haul flights. Everything worked on departure, flight proceeded without difficulty and I canceled the autopilot only to realize my yoke had been disabled. No matter though still a beautiful approach! Nice work as usual.

BA parks flights from PHX on terminal 3 learned that the hard way when i was trying to check into that flight IRL :)

I have the same problem using the Beechcraft KingAir 350, that the pedals don't work after landing. I haven't solved the issue yet, but does anyone have a suggestion to solve it? It must have anything to do with the control of the nosewheel. I'm using P3DV4.3

hey matt about the AIRACS thing thanks i make all my flightplans in pfpx and convert to the PMDG 777 flightplans before i fly thanks and currently good vid!
Any tips on doing flights (long flights) like this because I've tried this before and I get seriously bored ?
What I usually do is, set up the aircraft at night and shoot for a flight time of 10-12 hrs, depart and get into cruise and pass out for the night! Wake up the next morning and by that time I am usually near my TOD, plan the arrival and land to my destination airport!
