Something mods like better than wolves and modpacks like better than creepers are missing is mental damage. No amount of damage can stop you from creating another world. There is an amount of mental damage that can cause you to stop being able to create another world Also add create:estrogen and buff skeletons. Skeletons are the only mob that is actually difficult to deal with Have you checked if endermen cant sit in minecarts and dont allow players to just pilar 3 blocks(they cant teleport more than 3 blocks above) Creepers are way too high in the tierlist. You can place a block to almost completly nullify the damage and half fuse time isnt that bad unless you need gunpowder and dont make a farm

@AdaTheWatcher It's one thing replacing it on your own system, and it's another thing getting the modpack owner to replace it with a better alternative so _everyone_ getting the modpack can immediately get the better alternative from then on.
Give all creepers the silent property so that you can't hear them behind you, also, make it so that when a creeper spawns, it has a moderate (~20%) chance to be charged, and a small (~5%) chance to be riding a vex. This will make sure that the player NEVER feels safe, even inside their house.
I have a plethora of suggestions for this mod. These include buffs to the early game (because you said yourself in another comment that the early game of Better Than Creepers is easier than the early game of Better Than Wolves), buffs to mobs you didn't mention (mostly Nether mobs), buffs to mobs you DID mention, and more mods to add to your mod pack. Wolves: The Wolves are mad about there being a mod pack harder than Better Than Wolves, and now they're out for blood! This means they are always hostile to the player. They've also stopped being hostile towards Skeletons so you can't manipulate them fighting to your favor. Skeletons: As mentioned, they are no longer attacked by Wolves. But that's not all. They're also guaranteed to spawn with an enchanted bow but will never drop their bow on death. They can have normal enchantments, but they're also guaranteed to have a certain enchantment that bows normally don't have. Multishot. Creepers: Someone stated that Creepers are undeserving of S-Tier. Let's make them deserve that position. Afterall, they are the namesake of the mod. Firstly, I believe I remember a mod that makes Creepers spawn smaller versions of themselves upon exploding but removes the block-destroying part of the explosion. I'm pretty sure the mod was primarily an Illager-based mod, and they made an Illager type that threw Creeper Spores that did the same thing, so they used that as an excuse to change how Creepers work. Add that but then add back the block-destroying part and then make it so that the little creepers can also destroy blocks. Then, make it so that Creepers are immune to ALL negative status effects. This not only makes it slightly harder for them to be killed, but it also makes it so they can spawn with those negative status effects. And if a Creeper dies while it has an effect, it will make a cloud of that effect that can spread to nearby players. The effects that these new Creeper Clouds can provide include Slowness, Blindness, Weakness, Poison, Infested, and, of course, Infected. There are probably several other things can provide to Creepers, and it would make sense for us to provide them due to the fact that Creepers are meant to be the main antagonist of the mod (I think). However, there are only so many things we can provide to a single mob. As such, what if it was more than one mob? Simply download a mod that adds bunch of variants of Creepers (Like Elemental Creepers: Refabricated or something), make it so those creeper variants spawn everywhere in the world rather than just their designated biomes if needed, and apply all the previously mentioned effects to those Creeper variants, as well as the affects you mentioned in your video, and if you're feeling extra creative, maybe come up with some new effects exclusive to each variant. Enjoy having at least two new mods just from the Creeper segment of this comment alone, since I'm sure you can take the items from those mods and find some way to integrate them into the progression. Early Game Expansion: As mentioned at the top, you stated the early game was too easy. Here's some ways to make it harder. Firstly, it makes no sense that you'd be able to extract the flint from the gravel with your bare hands. You'll now have to make a Crude Sifter with a stone loose rock and a stick. You still only need 1 grass twine. Then, get and smelt the iron as usual, and you are now out of the early game. Husk: The reason I didn't put these guys before the Early Game Expansion segment is because you're not going to be able to survive in the areas they live in during the Early Game. Same goes with the Stray. Anyway, I'm assuming that the Husk already has the same changes as regular Zombies, but you didn't explicitly say they did so I'm reminding you to do that in case you didn't. Also, since Husks are immune to the Sun, it should also reason that they'd be immune to other Fire Damage, since the Sun is the most powerful form of heat. Stray: Same changes as the Skeletons. This is basically just a reminder to apply the same changes to Strays as you did to Skeletons in case you hadn't already. Hammer: The Hammer can no longer be crafted with grass twine. It needs actual string to be made. Brown Flint: Again, Colored Flint will no longer do. We need Colored Gunpowder. To be more specific, Brown Gunpowder, requiring Brown Dye, Gunpowder, and Flint. Crafting Table: I know the recipe for the Crafting Table is complicated enough, but I can make it more complicated. You know how the Crafting Table has tools on the sides of it? Well, since those tools aren't in the crafting recipe, it's as if the tools appeared out of thin air. That doesn't make sense, so we're adding them to the crafting recipe. The tools include a hammer, a saw, and a pair of pliers. For the pliers, just use shears. Just add those to the crafting recipe. Piglin: All Piglins are replaced by Piglin Brutes. Zombified Piglin: It doesn't just have the same effects as Zombies, but it does still have that. They are also guaranteed to have at least one piece of armor, they spawn in groups, and these groups will have one or two Zombified Piglins with Crossbows. Piglin Brutes: Piglin Brutes now inflict Nausea and Weakness due to how strong their hits are. They now have a leaping ability, and they are immune to fall damage and fire damage to prevent you from using this ability to your advantage. Ghast: The fireballs Ghasts normally shoot can no longer be parried. During the downtime between shooting the main fireballs, the Ghast will also shoot smaller fireballs. Wither Skeleton: They can now shoot Wither Skulls that don't destroy blocks but are otherwise the same as the skulls the Wither shoots. Blaze: Blazes now shoot shotgun bursts of 3 fireballs every time they fire, which, since they fire multiple times in a row, means they'll be shooting a LOT. Additionally, they will have 4 rods that are a bit farther than the rest of them and can whack you if you get too close. They don't do much damage, but they do heavy knockback, set you on fire, and inflicts Weakness. Wither: ...As someone who actually plays Bedrock Edition, I know fully well that the mod that converts the Wither to its Bedrock Version isn't fully accurate. Bedrock Wither has *600* HP, and judging from your video, the Wither still has 300 HP in that mod. Increase the Wither's HP to 600 if you want it to be a REAL challenge. Also, it makes no sense that the Wither wouldn't be able to inflict Wither Sickness when the Wither Skeleton can. Add that too but make the chance lower. I can't think of anything else at the moment, but I did plan to write more so I'll probably add more in a reply to this comment.
There's a datapack called realistic damage( not sure about the name) where if youre on low health, you get nausea, weakness, slowness and other effects.
Uh, locational health? RLCraft? Broken hands - mining fatigue/weakness, broken legs - slowness. Skeletons will oneshot you 90% od the time because headshots.
I expected the creepers to prime themselves quietly behind your back, follow you around holding in their explosion, then immediately explode once you turn around. After all, if it got that close to begin with..
Better than wolves was given its name/made out of spite due to notch taking his time adding wolves rather than other cool stuff which led to a forum post being made where people came up with ideas that are better than wolves and then the mod was made starting out as a tech mod until after awhile it got reworked to being the hardcore mod we know
my personal ideas feel free to steal: - let wither skeletons with bows spawn in overworld - add dash ability for zombies - make bats hostile (fuck caving) - piglin brutes now spawn outside of bastions (fuck nether) - make wither roses spawn naturally as a flower in the nether (don't drop after broken, including breaking the block below) - zombies have a chance to turn into skeleton after death - make thunderstorm more common (more skeleton horse ambush >:)) - give all skeleton tipped arrows with negative effects - increase skeleton firing speed

This needs more mental damage, it’s too straight forward. Here are few suggestions I have: - Zombies can spawn in any light level - Creeper fuse time is now 1/20th of the original value instead of 1/2 - Finding several structures throughout the world including ocean monuments are now required steps of progression as they are the only source of villager job blocks (they are now uncraftable otherwise) - Mobs have a 1/20 chance to spawn as supercharged versions, they are twice as fast as their normal versions and deal four times the damage. - Thunderstorms happen every time it rains, and during thunderstorms charged creepers are the only mobs that can spawn naturally - Charged Creepers now have permanent speed two And if that’s not enough: - The player begins the game with one heart, they must find find a rare resource of some kind to improve this stat up to a maximum of the original value (10 hearts) - Taking damage has a 1/10 chance of breaking one of your bones, this causes you to be permanently afflicted with either the slowness or weakness effect, this can only be cured with a potion of regeneration or a potion of instant health. - When an enemy dies, there is a 1/50 chance that it spawns a vex with a singular hit point that dies after two minutes (this makes it impossible to afk mob farms) - Zombies can break blocks - The sun has a 1/4 chance of not rising every morning, leading to an additional night occurring instead of the expected daytime. - Any tamed animal will be targeted by creepers, on a side note, cats no longer scare away creepers.

Make creeper jump at you when they prime. Make Zombies aggressively try to bite you by mining every block to get to you Make skelletons randomly be able to snipe your ass from a mountain 200 blocks away and their arrows never miss. Make endermen pick you up and randomly teleport you near a creeper. Make all animals with netherite prot5 unbreaking 999 armor and make them attack you if you dont instant kill them. Make nether randomly have lava explosions that cover an area with lava always blows up near you.
Now, i wonder why use new age instead of TFMG. Like, tfmg just adds a lot of harder, grindier recipes, not to mention that electricity it provides actually is based on voltage, so you can easily blow up all your lights in the house if you try to up the power generation by adding few rpm to the rotor. Not to mention the road to electric age from oil-based one is also long, and so is steel and coke making.
Make it betterby adding pitch black at night or dark areas, and creeper instantly explode, zombie piglins are always agro, squid will pull you down and blind you, passive mobs when hit attacks you (the entire group), the dragons ability is faster, crafting is harder like 5x, make you have hypothermia when near 2 block of lava, make everyblock have physics, and have limited inventory space, plus food expires and raw food can have parasites in it plus, add water hydration, add animal genders so t way harder to breed, and lastly man torches, furnace, smoker or any types of fuel consuming equipment would give a smoke effect that can hard you and other.

How do you get wither skulls if they can’t drop from wither skeletons? Wither roses need something to be killed by a wither boss but how are you gonna get a wither boss if you don’t have wither skulls
This still doesnt seem nearly as hard as better than wolves, at best, its almost as hard as base better than wolves on relaxed mode, but still, this is an amazing mod, its like a harder, quicker version of gregtech. But still, zombies being able to end your run in one hit is horrifying

Yet another suggestion comment: I think the creepers should do as much damage as a 3x3 tnt explosion. Truely cement their fear factory. Hell, there's plenty of mods that help creepers blend in or do funny stuff. If you want PURE EVIL mode, how about the wither storm spawns in at the start of the world. Thus making it feel like a race to even survive. Maybe throw the player a bone with valkerian skies mod so they can HOPE to keep their base.
y'know what actually, i take it back, my idea had some important differences such as, y'know, having to beat a literal god in order to actually win, and like, having to figure out a complex magic system (good luck getting enchantments), and a realistic crafting system (imagine getting iron the normal way) and rng, lots of it, you could break your only furnace after the very first use and be absolutely screwed, having to repair it and so much more!
Making the advancement dependent on summoning the wither storm (for the command block book) is really a disadvantage. Once you spawn that storm it starts eating the world (literally). I may consider making it the final boss of the pack since sucking the world will completely reset the run by loosing your base and create setup.
Oh wow how amusing another modpack that is just a collection of mods meant to slug you throughout progression of the game what a fun and innovative experience there sure aren't a lot of experiences like that
Better than Wolves was a slap in the face to Notch. It was because he added wolves to the game in one update that took two weeks. The mod dev said "I can do better", and he did add an entire new update in 2 weeks.
This doesn't feel like a carefully put together and well designed mod pack. Just seems like half of the mods are just mods people often play with, and the other being "haha the game is either hard AF or there's Breaking Bad and guns ooh so edgy"
You should change the diamond ingot crafting recipe to match the Better Than Wolves diamond ingot recipe. In Better Than Wolves it requires creeper balls. Better Than Wolves did it better because it required creeper balls which dropped from creepers. I think it would be perfect for this mod because being forced to kill creepers was already dangerous before but now creepers are deadlier lol

Anyway, I'm assuming that the Husk already has the same changes as regular Zombies, but you didn't explicitly say they did so I'm reminding you to do that in case you didn't. Also, since Husks are immune to the Sun, it should also reason that they'd be immune to other Fire Damage, since the Sun is the most powerful form of heat.
Stray: Same changes as the Skeletons. This is basically just a reminder to apply the same changes to Strays as you did to Skeletons in case you hadn't already.
Hammer: The Hammer can no longer be crafted with grass twine. It needs actual string to be made.
Brown Flint: Again, Colored Flint will no longer do. We need Colored Gunpowder. To be more specific, Brown Gunpowder, requiring Brown Dye, Gunpowder, and Flint.
Crafting Table: I know the recipe for the Crafting Table is complicated enough, but I can make it more complicated. You know how the Crafting Table has tools on the sides of it? Well, since those tools aren't in the crafting recipe, it's as if the tools appeared out of thin air. That doesn't make sense, so we're adding them to the crafting recipe. The tools include a hammer, a saw, and a pair of pliers. For the pliers, just use shears. Just add those to the crafting recipe.
Piglin: All Piglins are replaced by Piglin Brutes.
Zombified Piglin: It doesn't just have the same effects as Zombies, but it does still have that. They are also guaranteed to have at least one piece of armor, they spawn in groups, and these groups will have one or two Zombified Piglins with Crossbows.
Piglin Brutes: Piglin Brutes now inflict Nausea and Weakness due to how strong their hits are. They now have a leaping ability, and they are immune to fall damage and fire damage to prevent you from using this ability to your advantage.
Ghast: The fireballs Ghasts normally shoot can no longer be parried. During the downtime between shooting the main fireballs, the Ghast will also shoot smaller fireballs.
Wither Skeleton: They can now shoot Wither Skulls that don't destroy blocks but are otherwise the same as the skulls the Wither shoots.
Blaze: Blazes now shoot shotgun bursts of 3 fireballs every time they fire, which, since they fire multiple times in a row, means they'll be shooting a LOT. Additionally, they will have 4 rods that are a bit farther than the rest of them and can whack you if you get too close. They don't do much damage, but they do heavy knockback, set you on fire, and inflicts Weakness.
Wither: ...As someone who actually plays Bedrock Edition, I know fully well that the mod that converts the Wither to its Bedrock Version isn't fully accurate. Bedrock Wither has *600* HP, and judging from your video, the Wither still has 300 HP in that mod. Increase the Wither's HP to 600 if you want it to be a REAL challenge. Also, it makes no sense that the Wither wouldn't be able to inflict Wither Sickness when the Wither Skeleton can. Add that too but make the chance lower.
I can't think of anything else at the moment, but I did plan to write more so I'll probably add more in a reply to this comment.

There's a datapack called realistic damage( not sure about the name) where if youre on low health, you get nausea, weakness, slowness and other effects.
It is possible using KubeJS, but i am sure it will reduse performance on lower end PCs :(
Uh, locational health? RLCraft? Broken hands - mining fatigue/weakness, broken legs - slowness. Skeletons will oneshot you 90% od the time because headshots.

- add dash ability for zombies
- make bats hostile (fuck caving)
- piglin brutes now spawn outside of bastions (fuck nether)
- make wither roses spawn naturally as a flower in the nether (don't drop after broken, including breaking the block below)
- zombies have a chance to turn into skeleton after death
- make thunderstorm more common (more skeleton horse ambush >:))
- give all skeleton tipped arrows with negative effects
- increase skeleton firing speed
I want it to see how hard it can be and I am devil in suggesting in making games harder btw I full support for you in making this the new hardest mod as it is said "No risk, No reward".

This needs more mental damage, it’s too straight forward. Here are few suggestions I have:
- Zombies can spawn in any light level
- Creeper fuse time is now 1/20th of the original value instead of 1/2
- Finding several structures throughout the world including ocean monuments are now required steps of progression as they are the only source of villager job blocks (they are now uncraftable otherwise)
- Mobs have a 1/20 chance to spawn as supercharged versions, they are twice as fast as their normal versions and deal four times the damage.
- Thunderstorms happen every time it rains, and during thunderstorms charged creepers are the only mobs that can spawn naturally
- Charged Creepers now have permanent speed two
And if that’s not enough:
- The player begins the game with one heart, they must find find a rare resource of some kind to improve this stat up to a maximum of the original value (10 hearts)
- Taking damage has a 1/10 chance of breaking one of your bones, this causes you to be permanently afflicted with either the slowness or weakness effect, this can only be cured with a potion of regeneration or a potion of instant health.
- When an enemy dies, there is a 1/50 chance that it spawns a vex with a singular hit point that dies after two minutes (this makes it impossible to afk mob farms)
- Zombies can break blocks
- The sun has a 1/4 chance of not rising every morning, leading to an additional night occurring instead of the expected daytime.
- Any tamed animal will be targeted by creepers, on a side note, cats no longer scare away creepers.

Make Zombies aggressively try to bite you by mining every block to get to you
Make skelletons randomly be able to snipe your ass from a mountain 200 blocks away and their arrows never miss.

Make all animals with netherite prot5 unbreaking 999 armor and make them attack you if you dont instant kill them.
Make nether randomly have lava explosions that cover an area with lava always blows up near you.

Now, i wonder why use new age instead of TFMG. Like, tfmg just adds a lot of harder, grindier recipes, not to mention that electricity it provides actually is based on voltage, so you can easily blow up all your lights in the house if you try to up the power generation by adding few rpm to the rotor. Make it betterby adding pitch black at night or dark areas, and creeper instantly explode, zombie piglins are always agro, squid will pull you down and blind you, passive mobs when hit attacks you (the entire group), the dragons ability is faster, crafting is harder like 5x, make you have hypothermia when near 2 block of lava, make everyblock have physics, and have limited inventory space, plus food expires and raw food can have parasites in it plus, add water hydration, add animal genders so t way harder to breed, and lastly man torches, furnace, smoker or any types of fuel consuming equipment would give a smoke effect that can hard you and other.

Personally I'd recommend looking into e4mc instead of essential, essential is a bit sketchy and has a lot of unneeded fluff

Hell, there's plenty of mods that help creepers blend in or do funny stuff.
If you want PURE EVIL mode, how about the wither storm spawns in at the start of the world. Thus making it feel like a race to even survive. Maybe throw the player a bone with valkerian skies mod so they can HOPE to keep their base.

y'know what actually, i take it back, my idea had some important differences
such as, y'know, having to beat a literal god in order to actually win, and like, having to figure out a complex magic system (good luck getting enchantments), and a realistic crafting system (imagine getting iron the normal way)
and rng, lots of it, you could break your only furnace after the very first use and be absolutely screwed, having to repair it
and so much more!
Making the advancement dependent on summoning the wither storm (for the command block book) is really a disadvantage. Once you spawn that storm it starts eating the world (literally). I may consider making it the final boss of the pack since sucking the world will completely reset the run by loosing your base and create setup.

You should change the diamond ingot crafting recipe to match the Better Than Wolves diamond ingot recipe. In Better Than Wolves it requires creeper balls. Better Than Wolves did it better because it required creeper balls which dropped from creepers. I think it would be perfect for this mod because being forced to kill creepers was already dangerous before but now creepers are deadlier lol
