Can’t thank you enough for this video, it took a long time to find it.
That looks awesome. I'm definitely taking notes for my next upgrade to my setup.
Keep it up Joe.
Thank you for posting this, very helpful and detailed. I finished mine and it works really good! I put a video on my channel with it done. Cheers! Pete
Amazing setup Joe!!! I’ve recently decided to switch over to electric and this video will be very helpful as a starting point.
Can you put out a wiring guide schematic.. that would be a huge help in understanding what you did here.
Ha Ha Ha ! Your Nuts ! Congratulations, looking forward to seeing the first brew video on the new brewery. Cheers !
if not already mentioned, anything that running from the "wall" bridge directly should be 10g or larger, and it should be fused (as you have on some things), the lower amperage side is fine for 12 up depending on your fuse.
I just re-watched this video and I felt compelled to thank you for putting this together, Joe and Erik. Nice job! You've inspired me to finally go electric with my HERMS brew rig 'Frankie'...
Question about the Box:
@Erik:
Would it be possible to use aluminum diamond plate for a box? Penny for your thoughts.
Cheers for beers!
also, it looks good 👍 :-) there should be a mechanical contactor for a failed normally opened before or after the ssr L1
wish you guys would have went over how you wired the LEDs and how you stepped down the voltage...😞
Thanks for sharing! I would love a parts list and estimated cost to do the electrical conversion.
All that is up on BIY's website! www.biyhomebrewsupply.com/blogs/biy-blog/terpsichoreankids-electric-brewery-parts-list
Joe, Erik, could you guys share a quick part list for this setup? I found most of what I need except for the BUS' and box. Thanks.

What is the actual dimensions of the outer box? The site doesn't make mention of it.
From the video, it appears that the small gauge wire that feeds the PID and SSR comes directly from the main buss. That would mean the wire would probably burn up or catch fire before a breaker would blow. Should it have fuses or other protection for what appears to be #18 or smaller wire? You never showed the wiring for the rest of your setup.
Nice Joe. Your PID should have the ability to switch to manual mode, allowing you to specify a percentage output, instead of trying to find the right boiling temp. Manual mode gives superior control over the boil rate. Other that, looking good. Cheers! P.s. I don't recommend dancing like an evil scientist with beer in you hands over hot electronics.
Hey Joe! New subscriber. Love your build videos. Was looking into these spike brewing kettles and saw they are induction compatible. Was wondering if you or BYIhomebrewsupply.com will have any suggestions for people less electrically savvy, and can't wire their own heating element. Thanks
Hey Adam, thanks for subscribing! Yeah, Spike's kettles are amazing. We don't have any plans currently to offer any DIY wiring setups, since people can literally be killed by a mistake, so we instead sell Blichmann's Tower of Power system and modules and heating elements. They are literally plug and play! Let me know if you'd like to chat about them!
Well this looks like a much simpler way of doing things then the $1000 panels. What size is that box you used? looks to be what I need.
All the parts are up on BIY's website, but the box was a spare Erik had on hand! www.biyhomebrewsupply.com/blogs/biy-blog/terpsichoreankids-electric-brewery-parts-list
So you have 220 2 phaze? I'd have run the pid off 110 and the 220 only to the mains side of the SSR since low amp cables are much easier to work with. I will actually use all 12v for the signal path in my future projects since it's safer. (Especially if using cheap chinese PIDs like I am now,)
Awesome! Do you plans drawn up for this?
Thanks! I don't, since Erik handled all that side of it. Plus, everyone's setup will be different...
What was the model number of the PID controller you used?

Wow that is a ton of negative space
I can't believe they locked you up. I'm guessing jealousy.
Nice video!! reminds me of doing the couple panels I've wired. Check out our channel if you get a chance!!
Cheers - Brian
can u build me one ill pay for everything
Wiring and general electric work isn't that hard, if it wasn't for the current it wouldn't be all that thrilling. Serious note though, please don't screw around with electronics if you don't know what you are doing.there is a serious chance for death with each screw up.
Well, I learned a few things about the SSR and things. As soon as I get my Brew Buddy II from Auber in a few weeks, I'll be attempting to assemble it. I've never done this before, but your vid helped me understand a few things. Thanks.
