Will the 51-year-old VW 1303 SuperBeetle drive 2000+ km to Eliye Springs Lake Turkana in Lodwar?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 сер 2024
- In this video, I drove my old VW Beetle for over 2000 km Roadtrip to Eliye Springs in Lodwar and back to Nairobi through Western Kenya(Kakamega-Kisumu) with no seat belts and brakes on 3 wheels. Everyone I met around never believed that the car could go far without overheating or breaking down. So I used it to prove that it is a car like any other and in the process got to explore beautiful Kenyan landscapes in as much as the security in West Pokot was and is still compromised by cattle rustlers/bandits that have been killing people mercilessly. Yes, I made it back in one piece by God's grace. Sit back and enjoy as I embarrass myself..

Eliye Springs and Lake Turkana really sums it up, it's a trip worth making especially with a Beetle.... Amazing Video, the bug remains a gem, very strong engine. Good Stuff
Felt like I was part of this journey.. Awesome content and inspiration
Thanks Man
Point of correction bro about Sachang'wan. The cause of fire was not battery disconnection but rather a drunk guy who was arrested by GSU officers and handcuffed on the trailer so the guy decided to have some smoke and immediately he lit the matchstick it was a blaze like something from a movie scene. I had a friend there who was so close to the scene, was saved by a whisk. An unforgettable scene that plays in his mind wheneva I pass by the place because it took long before even grass could grow by the roadside and the trees one would mistake for black paint.
@@jacksonmdemi4340 interesting, so i had wrong information all this time. Yeah i remember it really took a loongtime for grass to grow back.Very Sad
This is quite an inspiration to dare and travel anywhere any time with any engine.

You are welcome.I have subscribed to your channel.
I enjoyed watching the road trip.
I really love Volkswagen beetles
I have two of them,a 1970s model like yours and a 1964 model.
There is something magical about getting an old Beetle and heading out on an adventure. I loved the fact that you just went and found fixes and solutions to the problems you had along the way. This is my favorite UA-cam video of 2024!
I'm glad you enjoyed this trip. I have much more content coming up. Kindly subscribe for more, cheers...

Awesome video! Lovely demonstration of the ups and downs of owning a jalopy. I'm only 15 min in but I already feel your pain, ati umetoka kutengeneza carb alafu watchie anasema mguu imeenda chini 🤣 na safari bado haijaanza! Bought a beat up toyota as my 1st na sikuwa naona amani. Kwanza 1 week after I bought it nikatoka job nayo msa road. Kufika nyayo ishaanza kuchemka na ni jam ya 5pm, gari ilizimia roundabout ya GPO bana rush hour, makarao walikuwa wamejam mbaya 🤣🤣
I can imagine, good thing I had already overhauled the engine properly.... Had so much fun with the jalopy.

What an epic trip....well done bro 👏👏👏. Taking a 50 year old VW to cover distances and terrain best suited for modern 4 X 4's and making it all the way is a great achievement. This clearly shows that where there is a will, there is a way. Eagerly waiting to see another trip with the VW.

I remember when the combi vans were doing transafrican trips with those aircooled engines.

I hope the get to do something about it buddy. i hope you liked it, thanks for the support
Quite inspiring. I will drive my 2012, VW Golf to Samburu. It's a modern car, but am always scared while driving long distances. Can breakdown for no good reason, yet regularly serviced
Sure thing, test it around then once u are confident just fuel it and go.. and kindly note when going for very long trips you are better off being gentle with it...keeps the revs below 4k but depends with your engine.
hi sir; youv really motivated me' i have a small suzuki lj 80 ''i av done kila kitu;;so now i know also mine can also do a road trip''sure bet''i really love cars'''especially old ones
thats a nice car, what a better time than this. but take it for some easy runs around then from there u can easily take it to a proper drive

@@safirioverland You have a samurai?
@@ngangakevin8296 Yes I do, a locally assembled 1996 one. It's officially called the Sierra as mine was locally assembled. But it still has the F10A engine and the SJ410 Chassis. I think they were only called Samurai in Japan.
