I'm honestly glad that they aren't going with a basic slate leading up to a Justice League movie for Chapter One, it would've been cool, but it's nice getting a slate that isn't just Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and then a Justice League film.

I really like how this line up is focusing less on sequels and more on expansive stories that include both fan favorite characters and lesser-known ones.

Im glad that they finally have a clear plan for this reboot, and as a DC fan, while I may have some minor criticisms, I still am incredibly excited to hopefully see DC get the love and respect they deserve in live-action, animation and games. But I do totally understand your point since I love DC, and I just want to see the franchise get a well-structured cinematic universe with good films and stories told. However, we do have to remember James Gunn's plan seems to be less like the MCU which is a linear cinematic universe that started with Iron Man and had to change things from the comics to build up their universe from scratch at the detriment of following a somewhat repetitive formula, and only at times taking major risks that can either lead to great films or bad films, whereas James Gunn seems to be taking the Star Wars franchise plan where we get an established world with multiple stories coinciding with one another and at times can connect together, but also have the room to tell more multifaceted stories with different characters and tones, but James Gunn really seems to prioritise good storytelling and passion in these projects which is a good thing that some comic book movies today have forgotten about recently

There’s also an established timeline and lore for the DCU with a fleshed out history already in place. I’m glad that although this is a connected universe, it’s not one big story going forward. The film doesn’t lead into the next one. Yes Superman has multiple heroes in it but it is still a Superman film it isn’t setting up a big story like BVS and Josstice League. I like that it is spread out and Gunn is starting by using different characters for films and tv with the exception of Batman and Superman. Instead of just going the common route of the main heroes then a big team up film you have characters like John Stewart, Hal Jordan , Swamp Thing, Booster Gold, Supergirl, Clayface, The Authority ect, characters that haven’t had the spotlight in a while or who people aren’t familiar with. It’s just a breath of fresh air and it leaves room for the more well known heroes like Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman ect who have had recent films to take a back seat, that doesn’t mean we won’t see Gunn’s versions of them in the future though.
My theory is Alana is only dead for now and that she might appear again down the line in a live action cameo and I say this because she worked with Clayface who is a Batman villain and with that brave and bold movie coming he’s already connected to the league of shadows and maybe with the existence of Lazarus pits she could return because maybe her country has a secret pit and she is working with someone else behind the scene who can revive with it or This being the DC universe she could be brought back by a more magical means or scientific one considering the vision with Gorilla Grodd. So yeah that’s my theory let me know if this could be credible or just wishful thinking.
I'd say Dynamic Duo won't be part of the DCU, because no one ever said that. No one has ever refuted it on the other tran. But James Gunn has announced that it won't be part of the Bat-Verse, and this is where it would be really convenient to say it's a DCU fllm if that were the case.

Grant Gustin is the only Flash I like. He played him well. Gunn needs to hire him.

I am ok with that james gun wants to do smoething new but I think he should have went with the normal "mcu like" approche instead of trying to redifine the meaning of cinematic universe again but we'll see.
