Great video! I remember attending a number of events that came to the Virginia area such as Richmond and Hampton. Always a great show and the racing and freestyle was always insane! I like how the Monster Nationals and the Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live are continuing this tradition.
I soo miss January's at Robert's Stadium in Evansville Indiana. In my opinion the Thunder Nationals from 1999 on back were the best. I attended every Thunder National in Evansville from January 1993 to January 2011. After that they tore down Robert's Stadium 😞 and moved the monster truck events over to the new Ford Center where it's now Monster Jam events. I remembered all the Thunder National headliners from each year: 93 Excalibur, 94 Excalibur, 95 Excalibur, 96 Bearfoot, 97 Boogey Van, 98 Excalibur, 99 Black Stallion, 00 Virginia Giant, 01 Rambo, 02 King Krunch, 03 Virginia Giant, 04 Black Stallion, 05 Virginia Giant, 06 Black Stallion, 07 Samson, 08 Rolling Thunder, 09 Avenger, 10 Black Stallion, 11 Max D.
Hopefully there is more to come. The Thunder Nationals was what blossomed my love for monster trucks. I went back in 1995 at the event at the U of I Assembly Hall (now known at State Farm Center) and was instantly hooked. I think that was around the time that George Eisenhart was doing his thing with the brand. Flash forward 6 years later I attended at Monster Nationals event at the same arena. Went 15 years in a row before I moved away
Yes, there’s a lot to unpack. This was just to get some material out to everyone so they knew this project was not dead. We just got held up by the shut downs.
Not to buy, just on here. Still a ton of work to do on it. Got shut down in 2020, picked back up in 2021, and by that time some of the people involved moved. It’s still being worked on. Slowly but surely.
This was just the teaser and it got set back again as many of our interviews had moved from the Midwest to central and north Florida. So it’s in the editing stages now, but it’s a lot of story to put together with many many interviews.
Still in production. Been working on it for five years. It got held up another year because of covid so we had to finish it this year. Still several interviews to complete.
@@BackChannelStudios I guess you’re right. I’m not too familiar with the series, and thought that Monster Jam used the name until the Triple Threat Series took over. Shows how much I know. Anyways, a concrete arena Monster Jam show was televised in Europe. Knoxville 2009. I’ve always thought of concrete floor events as TN-style, and Monster Jam partially bought them out, so I drew the wrong conclusion there.
I never understood why the utica aud in utica ny never had the thunder nationals they should of because the utica aud had independent indoor shows like the old amp tour and the tnt days but the utica aud sucks now because all they want is hockey it's a shame
@@BackChannelStudios that I didn't know because I didn't start goin to the shows till the late to early 90s the utica aud was the first show that I went to but it was the old tnt series at the time and I still have pictures from it
@@BackChannelStudios I'd love to see the footage from utica it definitely would bring back child hood memory's from the days utica had shows me and my dad went to alot of the shows that utica had plus they had alot of rare trucks to see
Really hoping this still comes out. Some amazing stories and footage here alone
Thunder Nationals every year in Wheeling WV. Such great childhood memories, I can't wait for the full documentary

Absolutely incredible footage! Great job putting this together.
Love the content. Super excited.
This is sooooo awesome! Never enough thunder national content around!

Plenty more. This is just a teaser for what we’re going to release hopefully in the spring
We need the Thunder Nationals to come back. The large venue shows are great but the racing was unmatched in comparison to the Thunder Nationals.
Awesome video can't wait to see the rest when it comes out...
Loved the thunder nationals went every year here in Rochester ny at war memorial.
So is there going to be a longer one coming out? Definitely liked what I saw just confused by the description. Thanks!
Yes, there’s a lot to unpack. This was just to get some material out to everyone so they knew this project was not dead. We just got held up by the shut downs.
So awesome. Can’t wait to see more.
Great stuff guys!
Yep, that was worth the wait. Looking forward to more.
Nice work, all I will say is we need more Excaliber!!!!!!
Still working on that. Covid kept those interviews from happening last year so we’re back in production on this series.
@@BackChannelStudios that’s awesome! Probably should get the original truck (aka the current ride truck) in there too for more nostalgia!
Can’t wait to see the full version!
Awesome video, just wish it was longer!
Just a teaser.
Anymore news on when this will be release to buy or on here?

grew up on the thunder nationals in the late 90s and early 2000s
I would pay mega bucks for this DVD (if that’s what it is); also I would LOVE to have this on sale at the International Monster Truck Museum
Not a DVD. We can’t sell it because it contains too many different donated properties. It’s just going to be available for free on UA-cam.
Cool video
Is the full doc still in the works?
Yes, just tons of people involved in that series over the years. Making sure we give everyone a chance to be a part of it
@@BackChannelStudios Thank you for the update! Keep up the excellent work!
Where was Fred Shaffer, Kirk Dabney, Diehl Wilson and Pam Vaters?
Don’t worry this isn’t the final product.
@@BackChannelStudios gotcha
Is this all of it or will they be a longer episode?

Yessssss
When will the full version be done?
Aiming for spring. It’ll be released in parts. It’s a ton to unpack.
@@BackChannelStudios can’t wait 😊
whens it releasing?
Still doing interviews. Got held up with due to some medical things, but it’s almost completely shot. Just can’t do it without all the guys and gals
Any updates on this???
Much closer than before…. Still on the way, not quite to editing….
Any more movement on this?
Indeed! It’s being edited slowly and there’s still a few more interviews
Anyone know when this will be finished?
Still in production. Been working on it for five years. It got held up another year because of covid so we had to finish it this year. Still several interviews to complete.
Where is the final version of this??
Still a lot of work going into it, but it’s still happening.
@@BackChannelStudios glad to hear that!!
I hope this isn’t a dead project.
Nope. Still very alive. Just a lot
@@BackChannelStudios Awesome! With only one Thunder Nationals event televised, it’ll be cool to see some footage above a home movie.
@@peanutbutterjeff5364 I don’t think they ever fully televised one. Only clips on IMJ. There was a televised Ed Beckley concrete show in 1992.
