The sounds of the lake! My grandparents lived on a lake when I was a kid and I would go out and lay on their dock and listen to the water and the birds all the time. This is heaven to me.
I wish I was there but at the same time I know that wherever I am, I'll only be as peaceful as I am inside. It won't make a difference even if I am in the most peaceful place on earth, if I don't have my inner peace, I'll never truly feel peaceful and content. Thank you for making me realize this once again with this video :)

It’s that magic hour, all your chores are done. The wood is chopped, kindling too, it’s all in the basket waiting by the fireplace. The dinner has been cooking in the big old cast iron pot that’s been in the family since this old cabin was built. A family tradition slow cooked beef, falling off the bone, served with mashed potatoes dug up earlier from the wee garden. Just enough. The whole idea of the cabin is just enough. Just enough to sustain and enjoy, the cabin lovingly tended to keep it strong for the next generation, the furniture within, simple but also tended every year when the cabin was reopened. The nights were getting cooler now, fires lit a little earlier in the evening, wool blankets at the ready to pull over laps, and that last cup of coffee enjoyed even more so with a wee dram. Soon the loons will echo their haunting cries. The last fish will jump and it is time to go in and eat, sat at the old wood table worn from many meals, candles lit and still the lakes lovely music.

I love this so much!! I spent my teenage years growing up in an old farmhouse by a lake and this reminds me of early spring mornings waiting for the bus listening to the birds and the sounds of the lake. I miss being by the water. It was my favorite place to be. I have the heart of a country girl. But now living in a noisy city this gives me so much nostalgia
I love this video. Some lakeside vids show a pretty forefront, but the lake and the environs are lacking in movement. Here, we get water movement and nearby homes with lights and smoke from lit fireplaces. Much nicer for the imagination.

I just want to close my eyes and listen for hours. I can smell pine needles and campfire smoke in the early morning air, and hear the wind in the tops of the pine trees around my campsite on a small river in Algonquin Park... In my rain jacket and hiking boots, I'll walk to the camp store and get a steaming coffee to drink as weak sun rays begin to creep across the campsite to my folding chair, where I sit with a bag of peanuts for the chipmunks.

This is a lovely tranquil scene. The flickering of the candle flames inside the glass containers and the smoke gently rising from the chimneys of the two cottages across the lake are well done. It's lovely to hear the water lapping against the deck and the singing of the birds.
