I used a Shark Bite fitting to replace a soldered copper elbow that developed a pin hole leak. I like that no modifications were needed and it's brass. I secured to floor joist and ran copper wire around so couldn't come off in either direction.

Would it be ok for me to only use these JG pipes and fittings on flow and return pipes all the way to a radiator valve or would I need to use copper pipes to connect to the valves?

Hi Damon, definitely. Just make sure you use the correct insert for the plastic pipe.

i don't understand what the internal part does besides add cost and take time. Is it to strengthen the assembly for side loading? I also didn't quite catch what the twisting of the two ends does. The JG fittings that i have used just push in, no twist. Does it squeeze the ss clamp ring down further?
