😂😂😂 lol at my self after rewatching a few times the beach it is actually Magen’s Bay .. The beach I mentioned before is actually named after Charles Lindburgh …which has been affected by storm surge damage from the hurricanes … Magen’s Bay has some what of a natural protection because of where it’s located so storm surge isn’t as severe as other locations …
She could have been bigger but it was very hard for R & B Singers like her, Stephanie Mills and God knows how many others to cross over. None of My White Friends knew who she was. @@Amarti58 thx!!!!
My wrong, it was released in 1982, could have sworn I heard it in 1978.
@@Amarti58 I believe it was released on 82 with her album Get Loose.
She has such a beautiful melodic voice. The 80s n 90s were such great times. I wish I could time travel to go back to this glorious days...
She look like Bette Midler
@@TheQuenisha1wtf? Nah
Me too
This track, Shalamar's "A Night To Remember", "Dazz Band's "Whip It', Cameo's "Flirt", Gap Band's "Early In The Morning" & You Dropped The Bomb On Me", "Planet Rock" & "Patrice Rushan's "Forget Me Nots" were the jams of The Summer of 1982.
I had almost forgotten just how good this is.
Gorgeous brown beauty, classy, natural hair, size 10. What happened to our world?
The women back then were so beautiful natural these days sisters don't cut it like back then.
Nothing. I’m 72. Still rocking natural hair and a size 10🌺
weaves happened
This girl right here love love....82 my god
I don't think she'd be a fan of your condescension though
Lana Howard honestly
I was 15 years old when I heard this music, I am now 49 and it still sounds beautiful❤
What a voice we need this in today’s music she is so underrated.
YESYES!! SHE tore the house DOWN lastnight at Charlie Wilson's Party Train-Ontario' Ca..2024💯💯💪🏽💪🏽💙
I’m 48 years old , in this video my beautiful place of birth ST.Thomas USVI 🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮 I used to play on that beach as a little boy Lindburgh Bay ..My mom had this album .. Nostalgia in many ways the 80s were the best!!
Very nice❤
Cheers, I was scrolling down hoping to find the location.. Looks so beautiful I want to go. I thought those might be breadfruit trees in the vid. Have they recovered from the Hurricane they had a few years back? Carpentry has to be a way of life with all the hurricanes nowadays?
😂😂😂 lol at my self after rewatching a few times the beach it is actually Magen’s Bay .. The beach I mentioned before is actually named after Charles Lindburgh …which has been affected by storm surge damage from the hurricanes … Magen’s Bay has some what of a natural protection because of where it’s located so storm surge isn’t as severe as other locations …
lindbergh, not lindburgh
Correct 👍🏽
She could have been bigger but it was very hard for R & B Singers like her, Stephanie Mills and God knows how many others to cross over. None of My White Friends knew who she was. She was discovered as a Cleaning Lady at RCA where she and her mother were working. She was singing along to the Radio and an executive heard her and the rest is history.
For real
Thanks for the history
At the time pop music was rock based with SOME R&B thrown in for good measure. 35 years later pop music is largely hip hop\R&B based with SOME rock thrown in for good measure.
and remember back then if you white your right if your brown stick around if you black stay back
@@ianmoses3234 Good point indeed...If she were lighter skin..She would of had more opportunities back in the 80's...So sad..
Wow!!! A Love song from a women with Harmony, class, style, and no cuss words or twerking!!! Man i’m so glad i grow up in the 80’s!!!!
My dreams drive me crazy sometimes. For whatever reason, I heard this tune in my dream last night. Can you believe it’s October 2024 when I dreamt about it??? What a blast from the past!
I was expecting a sequin dress on the disco floor instead I get Evelyn a natural country girl with a basket by the beach , beautiful
Roasting chicken, singing into the oven looking like a crazy man....
Baby you make my love come down... shout out to all the try a long singers ( mic drop ) Big Tune... STILL

I am 48 and I love music! and this is my favorite song of all time - of any artist or genre!
God I remember being a kid and this hot biscuit dropping. It was THE top 80s tune

A friend named his two cats Eartha Kittay, and Evelyn Champagne Kitty. We had to greet them by their full names when visiting.
Beautiful scenery and song
I'm a 91' and I just love this song. I was born in the wrong era 😭 we have no good music like this
kazzey - three o five EP / enjoy
Same exact story. Jan 8 1991 here and our music sucks lol
I was born in ‘91 too. My boyfriend just told me I was born in the wrong era because I play Fleetwood Mac a lot
@@hopehouston5732 Fleetwood Mac is great, but Stevie Nicks’ solo career is otherworldly
I thought that you said you were 91 years old, had to see in the answers that, you was talking about the year born.
As much as I love the song, I love the video even more. A beautiful, feminine woman of African descent wearing her natural hair and being adored by a man of African descent. What happened? We went from beautiful images like this to the nonsense that I am seeing being passed off as ''Black music'' these days.
Rock & Soul '95 love the profile pic!
Yes to all of that!
Rock & Soul '95,well said👏👏I was a Teenager Lady in the 1980s. Lady Evelyn Champagne King, she was very Elegant and she had us dancing to all of her hit Gem Songs. Thank goodness that I was in the Era of the 1970s and the earlier 1980s to see first hand of the Elegant Days. I love your Profile Picture. Rest In Sleep Mr.Michael Jackson, you are truly missed😔
@@lastdays3148 so much positive energy in these comments!
You anti-white, deranged, delusional and dare I say it, Dangerous liability on society
The music is groovy, with a funky bassline, disco-style drums, and catchy synth hooks. Evelyn "Champagne" King's vocals are on point, she sings with such passion and emotion, it just draws you in.
Thanks UA-cam shuffle this beautiful song to me ❤
i just figured out that this song is written by Kashif. 😢
20 years of age.. everyday i wish of being able to experience the 80s. This song is just.. wow. how can one hate this??
What a song
What a voice!
In 1982 I was 8 years old. that's when I came to the United States of America. and when I first heard this song I was 12 years old.. and I'm still listening to it and I'm 47 and it's 2022.🌍❤️
Evelyn "Champagne" King takes the stage, her voice a velvet embrace, singing her original song "Love Come Down." With each note, she weaves a tale of love's intoxicating allure, captivating the audience with her soulful delivery. As the music fades, applause fills the air, honoring her timeless talent.❤🎶❤️
