Hi everyone, this is my review of the "Nordwand Pro" trousers from Revolution Race. I was kindly sent these to test out and have been using them for over a month. I've used them for all of my latest wild camping videos and they have seen all weathers from sun to heavy and persistent rain and wind. I've had a lot of questions about these trousers.
I now feel able to provide my honest thoughts on them.
These have been put through their paces, kneeling in wet, stony and muddy ground, climbing over stiles and gates - knee deep in ferns and through the peat bogs of the moors. The trousers are very comfortable to wear and I have slept in them during my wild camping trips. The breathability is good, which is aided with thigh length zippers on each side to allow venting and increased airflow. Stretchy panels on the knees, waist and seat area allow good freedom of movement. The base of the trousers sees a number of press studs and a boot hook to prevent the trousers from riding up.
There are two large pockets on the front, with the addition of two zippered pockets in front of these - on the subject of zips - these are all YKK with chunky zipper pulls and well made.
The trousers are NOT waterPROOF but they ARE water resistant. Bear in mind they are not designed as waterproof trousers - they repel light rain and moisture and this can be improved by using wax, similar to other brands of walking trousers. They are designed to be breathable and quick drying - I can attest to the fact they do dry quickly when wet - I will also be applying a layer of wax as we head into Autumn.
Quality is good - with stitching reinforcements in key areas and quality hardware used on zips and press studs.
In short, these trousers are great for many outdoor activities including wild camping - they allow freedom of movement, good airflow, they're comfortable to wear for long periods and they also look great - which is important too!

Great trousers.... all the other gear is quality to. I've bought RR gear for a while now and it's quality. However... if you have an option to use Royal Mail for delivery, then take it. UPS have lost 2 parcels in the past for me. Luckily RR are very reputable so the issues were resolved. Oh and btw I had my rusty orange pants for ages now... you copycat 😣😂😂

Yes they're pretty robust and durable I've found - the venting assists in hot weather too - I can vouch for that!
I have 4 pairs of RVRC Trousers and my new favourite are the adrenaline jeans wore them on a Snowdon climb last week they were awesome as an alternative to action man style trousers. Great vid awesome review of decent gear 👍

I’ve been undecided which RVRC trousers to get. I’m off to Switzerland for a family holiday and was wondering if the Adreniline jeans would be suitable. Mainly for travel, cities, little hiking and general travel etc
@@gazza18881967 Good for everything except extreme heat I've found, wear them all seasons here in the UK on and off road.

I recently bought a pair because they had a nice discount, only 69 euro for a pair. They are quite long but overall feel really sturdy and the pockets are very practical. I guess the waxing should only be applied in the orange areas, shouldn't it?

Yes, leave the stretchy parts - not dissimilar to Keb trousers by Fjallräven 👍 very good value these.
Great review Chris, really helps if considering purchasing. I have two pairs of Revolution Race trousers, Norwand Pro and GP Pro and they are both excellent.

@@luap1983The nordwand are more flexible at the knee pads and better suited for sports and mobility. The GP are better for bushcraft where you need heavy duty.

Have to say mate, these are much better value - and I own two pairs of Vidda Pro and the Barents Pro. The Fjällraven prices are becoming ridiculous and beyond a lot of people.

I'd say medium weight - they have venting which make them comfortable for summer use.

I have some of the standard nordwand trousers the only issue I have with them are the opening at the bottom of the trouser leg wish they were a bit wider.are these narrow round the ankle ?
They're narrower than some other trousers I have but go around the top of my Meindl Bhutan MFS boots fine - so no issues whatsoever.
Do you mind saying how tall you are? Im stuck between ordering the regular/short trousers?

Shower proof only. They dry quick though
@MCMOutdoors Thanks, I'll have to go for the RVRC GP Pro Expedition they're 100% waterproof, but cost £160 🤮 didn't want to spend that much though.
How would you rate these compared to the Fjallraven Vidda Pro trousers? I’ve just bought my fourth pair of those
My Vidda Pro's are slightly better in terms of finish - however, at over double the price - it's not worth such an extra, so in my humble opinion - these offer far greater value for money.

Just to let you know that I’ve just received my grey/black pair of these pants down here in Gosford NSW Australia just North of Sydney, it’s too warm here now so will have to wait until our next Winter or hopefully air travel will resume so I can visit my brother in Southport and get some hiking in around the Lancashire moors and Lake District. Hi Paul, First off thanks MCM outdoors you make some great vids that I tend to lose myself into. Paul, I made an enquiry with revolution race about getting them(pants) delivered to Melbourne, Australia, could I ask how you were able to achieve this as I was told by customer service that they won't send to Australia? Not sure why I mean how hard is it to send by ups or the post?

They aren't designed for insulation - if I need warmth, I wear a base layer under them 👍

Excellent - good ventilation
is this pair of trousers good for cold temperature and wind?
They certainly cut out the wind - in terms of insulting properties, if I were using them in colder weather, I'd probably wear a pair of skin tight leggings under them.
