Our American bird makes the sound 'whip-poor-whil' as is sings. It's one of the first bird names children learn. I enjoyed listening to you read as I watched out the door at the birds eating under the bird feeder in the morning sun. It was a nice moment. ❤

I remember books like that when I was a kid.... chuckle... many years ago. Great ideas for using up tiny scraps of fabric... my fav is the tabs with the pins and beads. Love the sound of the whippoorwill calling in the night. It's an American bird much like your nightjars. Happy Spring! Blessings & Bright Bubbles...ooo☀☀☀

I just love the size of this lil' guy so "do-able" and hand-held cozy like a nice cup of tea...☕ Tina's lock is perfectly wonderful, I love love love it! More of that GORGEOUS rainbow dyed lace (tag topper and page edging) I can't get enough of that. Makes me wish I had a bit more room in order to have a space to leave my sewing machine out...as it is I have to have "sewing afternoons" (meaning I'll have to be fairly organized in order too have all my bits that need sewing together, what are the odds of THAT happening??? lol)
Every single page has treasures to study. LOVE this project.

That's such good advice. I took a day "off" yesterday. A long P A U S E. And I can't tell you how much it's done for me.
I love the flip-side book. I've done this for years with my journals. I primarily write with my left hand and the center of the notebook or journal is usually problematic, so I just flip it over when I get to the last pages and start again "fresh". I think I got the idea from a Daytime/Night time journal I got decades ago and have done it ever since. I love the idea of doing a junk journal in the same fashion.
Pretty sure I need a painty-pages session. They're soooooo much fun. And I'll be making some of these fab tabs. Sewing buttons on fabric for these paper clips, I think I could do...not a big sewer (at all, but especially not needle and thread/slow stitching. Zero patience 🦀)

Hi Janet, a whip-poor-will is a Robin sized bird, nocturnal so it is rarely seen. It is a North American bird that sings at night. It got its name from the repetitive call it makes to attract a mate. No wonder it's referred to as, the lonely call of the whip-poor-will.

Hack Williams ..🎶 I'm so lonesome I could cry .. whippoorwill ...my son .Daniel & I spend four hours clearing and working in the garden yesterday .. irises & black currants , transplanted .. wildflowers seeds planted and rocks moved around .. the small water hole made just a little wider .. when I stopped .. I stopped .. I couldnt move ... first time is always the hardest .. I work like there's no tomorrow .. thanks Janet.. you have a sweet garden .. wild garlic .. how cool is that !! My hubby , Terry made me a working plant shelf.. right next to the water hose, perfect .. I like your tray / pot of small rocks .. Have a great weekend 💜🎶🎶🎶
