2024 KTM LED Headlight - Night Ride Review

- Around 10 of us hit the woods after the sun goes down to take our dirt bikes on a night ride. With the introduction of the LED headlight in the 2024 KTM XC-W models, I was excited to test it out in the dark.. It is without a doubt MUCH better than the previous gen but still unusable by itself for any kind of serious trail riding after hours.

The Oxbow Voyager head lamp is unreal for night riding. Size and weight is probably the best on the market

You're going to have to run lights on the bottom of your footpegs so you can see where you're going when the front wheel is up, which is pretty often in your case. Love the videos.

Love the Night Riding Footage. Dude....congrats on the Sponsor......make that Cheese Boi, haha. Would be cool to mount two lights on the lower forks point outward so you have 3 light sources and when you turn the forks you can still see ahead of you.......and if you go that far then you might as well put 1 more light on the bottom of the skid plate for when you do wheelies.
Oxbow Voyager mounted to the chin guard with a Dango Designs gripper mount. I like it better than on top of helmet, because the light is in front of your eyes and you don't have to worry about a branch hitting it.
I've been using the oxbow light for a wile. It's held up well.

When I had night school, I had one of those gas station flashlights mounted under the peak of my mx helmet with a rubber band. I rode a regular mountain bike and that light was sufficient.
This is so dope, looks like a lot of fun. I need a new bike or put headlights on my 450fx

You're gonna run into a Sasquatch riding at night! Maybe mount another headlamp on your forks. You could use a sleeve of nylon with Velcro to secure it on the tube, then have the lamp mounted to the nylon so its easily installed and removed.

just came across this channel. since Honda don't make a 2 stroke my 2 bike garage would be the 300XCW and the 250f, currently have a 450RX and i dislike the 5 speed and it can't slow speed lug in real tight trails, plus those bikes run hot. running at night i also use a Mountain Lab helmet light, just mounts on my gopro mount.
There is a guy on UA-cam that shows that their is a High beam on the 2024 ktm xcw that if you jump Two wires on the connector in the back of the light the 2nd light aka high beam comes on. Why ktm didn't put a switch on this to make it constant high beam is crazy check it out he bought a $7 Amazon hand bar switch and .mounted it on his handle bars for High and low beam
it seem that you only ran with the low beam, the high beam is a bit better than only the low one, but not by much

It is about double the brightness, but still inadequate.
Will it be OK for riding back on fire roads? I need to get back home when I spend too much time in the forests. :-)

Someone mentioned there is a high beam in the light you just have to wire it up.
Have you noticed the USA spec XC-W only uses the low beam. The euro spec EXC can use low or low+high I want to find a way to rig the wiring so it’ll use both the top and bottom leds on the bulb
It's easy just buy a $5 switch or connect the high beam wire to the low beam to have high beam on all the time.

@AdventureDaily Would you go the same way you had your rancher with no EPS and SRA or EPS and IRS now?
Whatever is cheaper, it wasn't a huge difference to me. I have no experience with an IRS rancher but if it was the same physical size I would probably opt for the IRS Rancher. The Rubi I had was a lot larger in comparison and I never found a benefit.

This light is straight garbage. Nice beam but it’s pointed at the ground. Just tried it and had to go 1-2nd gear whole way. Trash can KTM design
Yeah I was pretty let down.
The XCw only uses the low beam. You can wire it up and it'll turn on the high beam as well and it's great.
