I didn't read through all the comments but in case no one else mentioned this, you could "recycle" the damaged leaf by cropping it on another card (i.e. cut off bad part and mount it on the edge of a card mat). Love the embossing folder. Beautiful card!
..."post-it extender"? Brilliant!!! I am SO stealing that phrase and that idea. BTW, save your poor wonky , bubbly leaf and simply cover the boo boo with another leaf on top, at an angle. I always try to salvage my, hmm, "mistakes". 😊 Love your vids, so fun!
I love watching your videos, Dena. You are hilarious and had me giggling throughout! Lol!! I would love to stamp with you ~ stamping is such a stress reliever and even better with a bit of humor!! 🙃Thanks for the great ideas!!
I couldn't understand why you were doing the copper embossing on copper fool paper until I saw the end results. I have to say I am going to be doing this now. I love the card and it can be for any occasion. So thank you for showing me how to think out side the box.
You're right about the therapist and papercrafting, papercrafting is much more therapeutic and not as expensive. Having a bad day? Just grab some paper and glue. Lol this card is an inspiration picked my spirits right up. Thank you for sharing. Beautiful card.
Hi Dena, I have just found your channel and you made me laugh quite a bit through this! I love how you show the experiment, and just to say, I was kinda yelling at you, "you didn't use the embossing buddy" and then .... you must have heard me ;) as you came right out and said it after me! lol! love what you did and the card, thanks so much for a very interesting and fun video! xxx
I would never have thought of heat embossing on foil paper. Brilliant! And yes, I was laughing so hard when you talked about saving money by making your own cards! But who cares, it's fun! FYI, Stampin Up demo'd that embossing folder and they suggested spritzing lightly with water so as not to crack the paper. However, yours looked fine. Love your card!
Just wanted to say Hi, I love your videos and your sharing. I wasn’t feeling too well yesterday and had a Dina fix...a marathon of your videos. I am always smiling after spending some time with you and while not well I felt better for your company....thanks🙏💕 Oh, I just love this card and have done something similar instead of embossing foil I just stamped on a piece of plain card and embossed that, I didn’t think to dry emboss the background but I felt that the plain card background needed a little “somethin somethin” so I spritz with plain water and sprinkled embossing powder over that....it works, the beauty of using water instead of glue is if you don’t like the splatter you just let it dry and brush it off. Thanks again for sharing, and I’m sorry I always miss your Facebook lives, our time difference doesn’t help and I never know when your going to be on, if I did I would set an alarm. Have a lovely day and I wish you and your family a very merry Christmas filled with the peace and spirit to last not just the season but the year ahead. Love and friendship from my to yourd❤️ Mandurah, Perth. Australia 🇦🇺🐬
I have just recently subscribed to your channel and I must say I love your vids!!! You make me smile! And I love The experiment in the video, fun to watch and learn along with you.
Fantastic card!!!! I'm loving all the tips and tricks. And LOL about saving money. Now I "need" the copper foil paper and the sweater embossing folder.........I do also think card making IS way cheaper than therapy.
I love this card...it is absolutely beautiful! So appropriate for the season. (From a new cardmaker - about a year in) (11/1/2018) p.s. I loved the experiment "fail". That's how we learn and I so appreciate you doing that! Everything still turned out wonderful! It's cardmaking at it's best! Loved it! Bev
Hi Dena, I love your cards and videos. not only are they creative but your commentary is always entertaining! I literally laughed out loud when you said you didn't just see me wipe that on my pants. (totally something i would do). Real quick i just wanted to let you know you can actually heat emboss with plain water! you just have to do it kinda quick so the water spritzing doesn't dry before you add heat! embossing powder will stick to anything wet, once you heat it it bonds to your card and the water is gone!
I totally agree it saves on therapist, mine is totally stress reliever. Just so u know with your spritzer. You can just spritz water on there with your hand, add the embossing powder and heat set it. You must do it faster than with Versamark, but it works. Plus you can just brush away anything you don't want.
You did an amazing work in this video! I love your experiences! You are a truly source of inspiration for me! Excuse my english, I am from Canana, Quebec city.
Your English is perfect! Thanks so much! I wish I had something fabulous to share in French--all I've got is quel dommage, mom petite Chou and another one from a popular late 90's song that is inappropriate.❤️😘😇😱😎
I think I might have snorted when I laughed out loud at the 'saving' with homemade card making :D :D Thank goodness I didn't have anything to drink at the time lol But oh so therapeutic >3 And love, love the card!!
You are so funny!! You must be a blast, to be around. I really loved this card. Thank you so much for sharing. I'm going to try this, as I have all the supplies. This is going under my favorites. Thumbs up! ;-) Beth
Your funny and iteresting, at least your not afraid to experiment, and thats a learning process. The lge Maple leaf is beautifull it really graced your card , il have to try that myself and hope it wont seperate or bubble. Thanks for aĺl your hints
I think a couple drops of versa mark ink refill on the plastic rather than diluted glue would give the effect you're looking for and avoid the bubbling effect. That effect would be great with black embossing powder in a Halloween cauldron or perhaps in a beaker, Erlenmeyer flask or a Florence flask! {I was also a high school science teacher in a former life!}
Hi, your a very good witty teach and the first card is stunning with the embossed copper leaf. Its too bad your little experiment went wrong, but you tried, better luck next time....😀😀
love this video and I think you would have been an awesome biology teacher my daughter would have loved you as her teacher and yes still waiting to see how I'm saving money by making cards LOL
Sorry Dena. I think you misunderstood my intentions. I was just responding to you. I was trying to be funny. So sorry if you took it wrong. I love Stampin Up products.
I love your cards. So glad to see that I'm not the only one who does crazy experiments! How fun.

Really gorgeous, Dena! You make it so much fun ...Love the card!! Great video!
Thanks so much, Geraldine!!
Thanks so much for this tutorial, Dena. Love your sense of humour and enjoyed watching your design process.
Kathleen Chabot I'm so glad--thank you!

loving the table you are working on!
Love, love, love this technique and that embossing folder, another must have I think.
It's so much fun!
You crack me up! I love your "experimental" approach. Who knew? Card making by scientific method. 😊
You're right about the therapist and papercrafting, papercrafting is much more therapeutic and not as expensive. Having a bad day? Just grab some paper and glue. Lol this card is an inspiration picked my spirits right up. Thank you for sharing. Beautiful card.
Was great to see the different " try's" ! Very lovely card!👍

I have heard that, but like you say--it looks fine. It may also help that it has been as humid as all get out here and my office is in the basement!!

Fantastic card!!!! I'm loving all the tips and tricks. And LOL about saving money. Now I "need" the copper foil paper and the sweater embossing folder.........I do also think card making IS way cheaper than therapy.
Totally!!
I just tried this technique. Amazing. It is so beautiful in person. Thanks for the idea.
Awesome, Carrie! Good for you!!

Oh my goodness!!! So many great ideas! Thanks Dena! Waiting to save money with card making.......still waiting! HA! Yes, it is therapeutic for sure.
There is certainly something to be said for that, Joanne!

Enjoy your videos, Dena. I'm glad you keep it real - we all have "experiments" that don't go the way we hope. It all worked out i. the end.
Always so inspirational! Thanks for sharing!
Fun Techniques, Dena. Hey you can do that flicking with just water - no need for glue - the embossing powder will stick to the water.
I tried that and was not successful:(
students lost an excellent Biology teacher I'm sure ... we (those who are watching) gained an excellent teacher. Loved stamping with you today!
Jo S awww--thanks for such a sweet comment!!
Very pretty card.I don"t have the cable knit folder so could you suggest another one that would look okay? Thanks for sharing.
I totally agree it saves on therapist, mine is totally stress reliever. Just so u know with your spritzer. You can just spritz water on there with your hand, add the embossing powder and heat set it. I always enjoy your videos so much. The cards are very pretty and i like your experiments. You don't know if it will work until you try it. tfs
You are so right--I like to experiment--though it does not always turn out well! :)
I think I might have snorted when I laughed out loud at the 'saving' with homemade card making :D :D Thank goodness I didn't have anything to drink at the time lol But oh so therapeutic >3 And love, love the card!!
Some new ideas to try! Thanks for sharing!
Just gorgeous!
Thanks so much, MaryJane!!
Thanks for sharing your ideas and experimentation
Thank you so much 😊 you crack me up 😂 too.....but I really love 💕 the copper leaf 🍁 that you made. Those cards are so awesome.
You are so funny!! You must be a blast, to be around. I really loved this card. Thank you so much for sharing. I'm going to try this, as I have all the supplies. This is going under my favorites. Thumbs up! ;-) Beth

Beautiful cards!! With thick embossing powder you drop on top and heat from bottom. It would probably work for regular embossing powder too.
Stunning….like all your different methods you tried…
what if you spritz paint inside the embossing folder and let it dry for about a minute of two then emboss? Would the paint come out on the paper then?
I think a couple drops of versa mark ink refill on the plastic rather than diluted glue would give the effect you're looking for and avoid the bubbling effect. Thanks for the chuckle! Nice card!
You are welcome, Joann!!
HA! Dena, you were cracking me up!
Loved this tutorial. I'm saving on therapy also. Thank you.
Rita Novak thanks so much, Rita!!😎😇😜
Hee hee hee! Money! What money? I would hate to add up the dollars spent on crafting. Love this card!!
That's crazy!! Don't ever do that!! 😱
Hi, your a very good witty teach and the first card is stunning with the embossed copper leaf. Its too bad your little experiment went wrong, but you tried, better luck next time....😀😀
Love your videos 🐱
Thanks, Pat!!
Presses floating paper where to buy and how much money?
You can spritz with just water, or you can use a versamark refill in the same manner...
I actually tried water and was not successful :(
love this video and yes, impressed with the biology teacher former life. LOL saving money on cards!!
😇
LOVED IT!!!!
Very pretty! TFS
Thanks for the demo!
Denise Bruno you are welcome!
love this video and I think you would have been an awesome biology teacher my daughter would have loved you as her teacher and yes still waiting to see how I'm saving money by making cards LOL
A www, Thanks, Jan!😘😘
"Saved a lot of money on therapy." Dena, you're such a card. No pun intended.
Can you still get this folder? Just found this video in 2022.
It is not available anymore, but we have lots of awesome ones to choose from: www.stampinup.com/?dbwsdemoid=18384
Love your personality....Just found you and love your card.
Thanks so much, Michelle! Hope you will be inspired!!
I was and I am by your creativity and personality.... I have subscribed...want to see more : )
Love the cards interesting commentary LOL .
Thanks, Pamela!
How about after the embossing powder is applied let it dry before applying the heat to prevent the boiling.
Rosemarie Chapman no wait necessary!
Did you know that you can spritz or water droplets and then embossing powder? Use the embossing buddy first, but just water not glue! Enjoy!
If it wasn't for experiments, we'd never invent new cards ;) Rock on with your bad self! XOXO Trac
Thanks, Tracy!! Btw, thanks for the card you sent!!😘😘😘
you could still use it but sit it to the side of card & then cut some of the ruined leaf off..
Use water on a brush and then add some embossing then heat.
LOL, yes, saving tons of money!
They make versamark marker it's called a versamarker
Sorry Dena. I think you misunderstood my intentions. I was just responding to you. I was trying to be funny. So sorry if you took
it wrong. I love Stampin Up products.
Oh, I get it, but seriously, what good could come from that!! 😇😇😇😇😘
