I went on vacation to Nicaragua a few years ago and visited the Masaya volcano, absolutely loved it, what a beautiful country, definitely recommend it.
That’s sweet.. never been to Nicaragua but I went to Montserrat a few years ago and got to see the Soufrire volcano.. also got to tour the affected areas from the major eruption in 97 that buried the city of Plymouth which was also the capital.. it is literally the Pompeii of the Caribbean 🌋
I'm glad to see the safety wire because honestly I don't think I could watch it if there wasn't one. Anyone who follows this family knows there was a horrible accident years ago with many members of this family and I would hate to see anything like that ever happen again ❤

At least this guy took safety measures before, after, wore a gas mask (even when didn't want too) and prayed the entire time. Brave brave man. Yes he risked his life but, he wasn't an a moron about it even pausing when he felt unsafe (I watched the entire thing).

Lets be real, that volcano is constantly belching sulfur dioxide, which can create sulfuric acid when combining with water vapor in the air, this acid can erode his rope if he stays on too long or the level of sulphur dioxide is too high. Sounds plenty dangerous to me.
Yeah I was disappointed when I saw the harness. In this modern world they like to wrap you in bubblewrap. Although in fairness, his Father did die by falling off a highrope so I can see why he wanted the harness!
People who say they were not impressed by the use of harness, the act was as follows: crossing the volcano on a wire while maintaining balance, he did it and did not need the harness ... Now those who take away merit should try from home and upload it to youtube, really what people want is the morbidity of seeing someone die, for me it was smarter to use the harness in case of unforeseen events
The guys the put the rigging out did a more dangerous job, because they didn't know if the gases would kill them, or the heat would effect the cables or all those type of things, by the time he went to do this thing, it had been all worked out so it was 100% safe. The danger is why you watch this act, it changes how you as person doing it would perform, once the danger is removed , its not the same, it is impressive, but a guy that does a building with no safety rope is more impressive because of the danger.

I remember seeing his grandfather Karl die when I was young, and because of it, I understand the Safety Line. But I found his singing and talking annoying. Non of what he was talking about added to the drama of his walk. It was a great feat, lessened by his singing and talking.
