  • Despite occasional criticism, Shetty's influence remains largely unchallenged, with even minor critiques swiftly dismissed.
When questioned on his credentials during an appearance on Armchair
Expert, host Dax Shepard defended Shetty as an expert in Indian religions.
However, the specifics of Shetty's expertise were left ambiguous.

We have to do the inner work ourselves. To paraphrase Alan Watts, a guru that tells you he knows all the answers is like someone who takes the watch off your wrist and tries to sell it back to you.
Nobody has the answers, and some answers won’t work for everyone, we are all individuals.
Create your own quiet space, meditate, less screen time and get amongst nature often. This will give you more clarity than any other human being talking at you will.

As a very spiritual person I don't always understand the drama... We're not reinventing the wheel, everything has already been said, everybody is copying other people and what really counts is if you helped people. Everything comes from one source anyway and we're all just channels. Sure, it would have been more dignified to name the people he copied from, but often this stuff is just infinitely copied again and again, especially on Instagram.
The biggest question is: did he help people? I think yes. Even the ones claiming he copied from them are now getting more attention than they would have otherwise.
Just because he lived in an Ashram and is sharing advice, doesn't mean he's a saint or claims to be one. He's just a normal dude who wrote a book to help people, and apparently it worked.
Just because you don't like a celebrity, doesn't mean they're bad or superficial. In fact it's rather superficial to talk like that about people you never met. I think being a VIP puts a lot of pressure on you, of course they have self help people around them. Nothing bad about that.

He’s not a monk because he didn’t live a life of monk hood. Monks renounce all worldly pleasures and go live in remote places and don’t really run after money, best of all they don’t lie about their credentials nor do they steal others’ ideas and content. Shame so many people follow him like sheep being led to slaughter.

I love his content, but I don’t see him as a guru and it’s a little cringy when he tries to appear humble and there’s something fake to it. One of the things that got me to start questioning his whole guru character was when his wife was in a podcast and out of the blue she was crying and saying how difficult it was, I don’t know how to explain it but it seemed like she was going through so much stress and I thought but she is married to one of the insightful “gurus” and still she seems so unhappy. There’s something about him that’s completely fake and taking advantage of other creators

Blame only yourself if you believe a man or woman well below the age of 40 has garnered enough life wisdom to teach anyone anything profound about life. The first forty years are training for what's to come. If the guy had an easy life, he's a "swimming pool captain" who's never sailed a ship at rough seas. The mere fact he's successful in the West shows that too many people are willing to lap up any shit anyone tells them, if they look and sound polished enough.

He is doing what he can to rectify. And im sure those that need to be compensated will. And also you should remember that past and present and future lives could be a reason why people don't get payout

I also thought why he has to try so hard by wearing contact lens but it seemed like the eye color is supposed to be real? Who knows. No good vibes at all...
