I trained with a guy from Siberia named Vova. Dude was young, but one of the toughest human beings I've ever met. He always said, "life is hard, fight is easy," in his limited English. He changed his name to Vlad as he got older, which might be a Russian thing. Point being, despite only having met one person from Siberia, those guys really ARE "built different," and this video reminded me of him. I haven't seen him in years, but I have no doubt that he's a huge fan of Provodnikov, because he fought just like him. Always moving forward, power, speed, and a chin that didn't even make sense, haha.
The guys name was Vladimir, but Vova is sort of a nickname based off his actual name. It's the same with people named Aleksey, they'll sometimes go by Sasha.
It's a shame he got robbed so many times it must have put him off the sport. Retired a legend in my book and I don't think I'll get to see another like him 😭 . . what a beast of a boxer 😊
Nope. He took so much punishment that he was washed up early. Had nothing to do with robberies. You can’t fight in wars like that and have a long career.
Sort of unrelated, but Provodnikov's strength and conditioning coach Nick Curson was on the Joe Rogan experience back in 2015 and it was the most eye-opening conversation about sports training and athletic performance that I've ever listened to! They discuss Provodnikov quite a bit in regard to this as well.
One of my favorite boxers to watch with Ruslan is a real spectacle; it was never going to be a boring fight. This guy is a monster with so many classic bouts. Unfortunately, he has been on the receiving end of some bad decisions in his career. In my opinion, he has one of the greatest chins of all time. The punches he could absorb without being fazed and just keep coming forward is mind-boggling. He broke opponents down with his constant pressure and his ability to take everything they threw at him. You could literally see his opponents’ spirits crumble as they realized they were fighting a brick wall.
VoteSport! Love the Commentary and One Liners! Awesome work! I'm wincing in agony just watching his victims Spleens and Livers getting tuned into pate... Both Illuminating the hospital hallway with their shiners! (True Sportsmanship!) Timothy got back up and exclusively kept blocking punches with his Face! What an athlete and Boxer! Thx! Kind regards to all...
Ruslan had just come on the scene when I first got into boxing, he was my favourite fighter at the time, alongside Khan and Hatton (I'm British). I still remember how gutted I was when he lost to Bradley, Algeiri and Mattessye. He won all three fights. Unfortunately, he was the victim of boxing politics.
All foreign boxers will get robbed by the judges. Even Manny Pacquiao got robbed too. Those robbed boxers should petition a boxing matches with those judges and we'll see how they can last🤬🤬😡😡
I had the honor of sparring with him and meeting Freddie Roach leading up to his Chris Algeri fight......I have never felt power like his, and he was only going like 70% (70% sparring not 70% actually fighting). That was the day I fully grasped the gap between a professional and amateur. It was like getting hit with a brick, my first thought as soon as he landed was "Jesus he's allowed to hit people with no headgear and small gloves?". It's also when I gained respect for Chris for taking those punches and fighting through it for the W.
@ I've met him, Duran visited my gym a few times since he used to train there when he was younger. Alot of great boxers have fought out of or trained/sparred at Gleasons. Terrence Crawford, Miguel Cotto, Micheal Conlon, Shawn Porter, Peter Quillin, James Toney, Yuri Foreman, Paulie Malgnaggi, Zab Judah, Mike Tyson etc.....Ruslan was the only one I've actually sparred with though, since I was training for the Golden Gloves at the time.
Awesome video, as always. After watching the old-school boxers, when you watch the current ones, you can't help but ask yourself this question: if what these guys are doing is boxing, then what did the old-timers do? And if what the old-timers did was boxing, then what are the so-called boxers doing in the ring today? Boxing is dead, my friend. None of those incredible boxers are around anymore.
23:45 As far the bradley fight, that was the correct decision to not rule a knockdown. He obviously pushed him on the back of his head. In boxing, all belts had some variation of pushing being against the rules . He extended his arms. Which is frustrating I’m sure bc bradley was indeed on skates. Something boxers do every single round to a ducking opponent just so happened to be at a critical moment for scoring. He didn’t have his legs fully hence why he fell. Honestly it’s impressive despite the optics the ref made the clearly correct call there . He would have dropped him without it. It’s why when guys go down at a boxers feet knocked out or buzzed, they often put their hands up to show the ref they didn’t push or guide them down. What an incredible account of himself he showed that day. If bradley hadn’t had the manny decision, this wouldn’t get ppl worked up but this one was right.
Pro boxing is such a popularity contest it’s ridiculous how many fighters have lost because a judge liked the other fighter more or got their hands greased
Bradley took 2 wins he should NOY have received. BS. Bradley was knocked down 2 times by Ruslan. . .that ref was BS and paid off. Robbery. Still, one of the best fights.
He is a true warrior ......Dem good fighter.......It's just that he needed more of skill in landing hits and moving feet.....He needed improvement end he did not get enough....But 2 times he got robbery for sure
He should have stuck with Buddy as trainer and continue to learn better defense. That was the beginning of the end IMHO, despite his getting that championship at one point. Ruslan obviously felt his best defense was to just take punches in the head to get in close and well, those hits do count as points for the opponent. With that take shots to get in strategy, unless you can stop the fight with a ko, you'll usually lose, especially in close contended fights.
Ruslan was much superior and his power punches were enough to make Timothy a drunken guy in the ring. If you notice in the last round the bell went off a little early ( as the winner was decided,) before 2 more shots from Ruslan would have brought Timothy down. Tuff fight but the refrees decision was not fair. Such Fights are on bettings and it rules the ring.
Robbing fighters of their just rewards ' supposedly goes with the territory in boxing, still t'il this day this inexcusable bs has still not been eradicated smh' and respect to this guy
Freddy Roach honestly ruined him. He looked good with his second coach since he started using the jab to set up his shots. When he switched to Freddy, it was back to his brawling style without being defensively responsible.
Not really. He's just always had trouble with boxers that used footwork to keep moving with a good jab. He also had an issue pacing himself and could get tunnel vision going for the KO
And little more skill on hitting precisely.....Not that good precision.....But as a fighter dem good fighter to admire....For Siberian he gave his own region one more star fighter

Tough surroundings produce tough people

@@DexBunny Thanks for the clarification! I wasn't really sure why his name changed suddenly, but that makes more sense.
Send me location
The rooski won the fight. Bradlley lost but game.
Gennady Golovkin is another legend just like him. Very similar.
@selfmade8884 Boll shit .....He got cheated at list 3 times.....I am not taking a sides......Speaking my in mind
I've only seen him fight a few times and I'm pretty sure one of the fights he got robbed. Very, very tough fighter.
@@selfmade8884 he no longer saw value in the physical sacrifice each match drew from him due to the poor decisions he encountered through his career
The sound of his body shots are wild. That thud.
Who knows how great he’d have been if boxing wasn’t rigged against him…
Total Beast of an athlete! He was Awesome!
Much love to Emanuel Burton Augustus from Russia. Drunken master is a true boxing legend.
What an amazing legend. Hats off to Provodnikov.
Sort of unrelated, but Provodnikov's strength and conditioning coach Nick Curson was on the Joe Rogan experience back in 2015 and it was the most eye-opening conversation about sports training and athletic performance that I've ever listened to!

One of my all-time favorite boxers people do not mention him enough, Great video
A true warrior. Salute !
The goat is back
Very entertaining. These are the boxers nearly everyone wants to see. Very exciting to watch.

Great respect to The Siberian Rocky!
He is a TRUE WARRIOR!👏💪💞🇵🇭
Being called rocky isn't a compliment rocky wasn't about a great boxer lmao it was about not giving up
ruslan was such fearsome warrior jeez, forget about the judges decision hes there to scrap and put his opponents down
Once again another banger! You never fail to impress with your content. Mad Respect ❤

Another gem, great video.
I am still waiting for one on Bas Rutten, Rhonda Rousey, Ramon Dekker and Manny 💪🏼
Sports teaches me to never give up and always keep fighting!

I sparred with jack dempsey when he was 16 years old
@mrmeener625 cool
I sparred with Roberto duran when i was 15
@ lol

This guy was a goat in my eyes....got robbed to many times.
It's true,
He was robbed in that Algieri fight. That was pathetic judging.
This fight is the reason why Tim Bradley has been talking stupid ever since.
the shape of his head was odd looking after the fight 😂
You’re exactly right!! He should have received about 4-5 standing 8 counts but the ref sucked! Bradley lost that fight. And paid with his noggin.
😂👍
Truuuuue
I cant stop laughin bro..
😂
V's Timothy is the best boxing match I've seen to date. They certainly don't make them like they use too 😂😂😂 . What a Champ 🏆🏆🏆
A true champ!

Waw 🥶 unbelievably strong and amazing boxer ❤
Ruslan terbaik...
Dia seringkali dicurangi
He is great!
Good videos
Excellent hands 👍
that Provodnikov Matthysse fight was amazing
Love Matthysse so much. Had great fights against Ruslan and Danny Garcia.
"By taking his 0 with a 1,2" is poetry
That is good boxer and humble fighter
they did him dirty a true champ in my book
His punches are so loud
I would love the see the boxing promoters make a Provodnikov vs T. Davis fight.
👏👏👏👏👏¡ El animal del ring ! 😛😃🤭👌😜
Great
It’s really sad that he was robbed by blind refs & judges to the point he lost interest and walked away. They ought to be ashamed of themselves! 😡

9:56 you gotta love the sport. LMAO
Siberia
✊
All action style, no defense made his career short. Mans was a problem.
That's not why he had a short career. He was just tired of the politics and not getting a fair shake
Thats perfect for self defense and street fights. Not the hit and run thing.
ini sangat gila banyak kemenangan Ruslan Provodnikov yang dirampok
This is Russian power. This is why the competition is against him. Even the creator of this video won't call him a Russian 😂😂.. Slava Rusia
Quality over quantity wins every time.
problem with those guys is eventually an iron chin turns to glass.
Well you cant make glass chin into iron.
Brawler anyone!!! Like, did you really want to fight me!!!
Pro boxing is such a popularity contest it’s ridiculous how many fighters have lost because a judge liked the other fighter more or got their hands greased

HE WAS TOO SAVAGE FOR THE MAIN STREAM!
When u fight against American big name boxers, u fight against ref, all judges.. Bradley lost that fight..
This channel is so good.
Ruslan had thudding power every shot hurt if you brawl’d with him you were gonna get hurt win or lose
Tough men...
At least two of his losses he didnt lose!
Where did he go?
I might be His biggest fan from Pakistan. Matter of fact His name means Lion.
Do more Muay Thai!! Love the vids
❤
Bradley took unnecessary risks
Remind me who we voting for y'all?? We VoteSport 😎
Another miracle for Bradley. It should be a split decision for the Russian.
He is a true warrior ......Dem good fighter.......It's just that he needed more of skill in landing hits and moving feet.....He needed improvement end he did not get enough....But 2 times he got robbery for sure
How fucking tough is Bradley though holy shit 😮

I can only conclude he got robbed multiple times because he was russian... just my opinion 🤷🏽♂️
They shoulda titled this video. The man robbed too many times. But yeah. That boy was dangerous.
the farm boy got robbed by american boxing organizations.
This is unbelievable.......clearly robbery......shame shame to those people who made the decision. .....so sad to say this is ridiculous
his punches sound very different than his opponents
Lots of good Russian boxers nowadays.
don’t leave us for dat long again 😒
Robbing fighters of their just rewards ' supposedly goes with the territory in boxing, still t'il this day this inexcusable bs has still not been eradicated smh' and respect to this guy
Anzor azhiev 🎉
Savage>? This guy was a punching bag for anyone with any skills. Great chin, but he took a pounding in pretty much every fight. Even ones he won.
So.....a savage? Lmao.
@ hardly. Unless being savage means nothing but no defence and a good chin. Then, sure, I guess so. lol.
Yea, coming forward throwing bombs and trading hard punches with zero regard for defense is exactly what a savage does.
Provodnikov was cheated out of his wins by dishonest judges and referees. This Champion never lost in the ring, only to prejudiced judges.
If he brawls like gatti he doesn't hit like Tyson. Tyson would put you to sleep one punch. He wasn't a brawler. So it's either Tyson or gatti.
How is he doin right now??
I hope his ok and doesnt have brain problem
Yo
robberyyyy😮😮😮
I watched this guy from his start on Friday Night Fights. I still think he was robbed a couple times.
two questionable wins and then he goes to work for them.
So many fixes in boxing Emanuel Stuartsaid no corruption with a knock out
Senang dgn cara dia bertinju.sayangnya agak arogan.
it is cleary a robbery.this fight both fighter doing well..but provod. did very well
I'm not so sure he lost some of those decisions.
A challenger against the champion should stealing the belt by a small margin, the challenger should dethrone the champion.
They rob him and he shouldn’t be on the sidelines as a coach but still laying people out.
He said they were on even ground don’t know if true or not but it was a nice thing to say
Never been knocked out
And little more skill on hitting precisely.....Not that good precision.....But as a fighter dem good fighter to admire....For Siberian he gave his own region one more star fighter
