One of the great songs I was introduced to during my time traveling with the Gaithers was Until Then. I didn’t grow up listening to Southern Gospel music so many of the songs we recorded while I was there I was hearing for the first time. As expected, Until Then floored me. I was taken by the lyric and the melody, but also by the story of the writer. Stuart Hamblen was America’s first singing cowboy. He was a hugely popular radio personality. As a songwriter, his works were recorded by Rosemary Clooney, Dean Martin, Johnny Cash, and Elvis and many more. And as an actor, he starred along side the likes of John Wayne, Gene Autry and Roy Rogers. He had an amazing journey that included coming to know Jesus through a Billy Graham crusade.
I fell in love with Until Then I think because it was not only about longing for Heaven, but having joy in the journey. I took it from its cowboy roots and set it in a Puccini-like treatment with a soaring orchestra to better fit the way I would communicate such a deep, meaningful expression of faith. What an honor to encourage listeners with this timeless message of hope and joy! Be blessed!

David - I know you will probably never see this. But I can pray you will. I wanted to come and see you at a Barn Bash. But became ill. You were here close at a church in Ohio - but I was still ill. I have been so blessed to have you to listen to when I was down. You always remind me "GOD" is near - and my strength - and comfort. Thank you for all you do. God be with you - and your family. Before I heard Until Then, my life anthem was Great is Thy Faithfulness after my cancer diagnosis nearly 19 years ago at the age of 33. Now, at 51, After hearing Until Then, it has become my new life anthem. Thank you David for a GLORIOUS reminder of the GLORY that awaits us on that happy morning! ❤️🙏🏻

I work at a jail and recently downloaded this album. When I walk at lunchtime, and see the walls and fences and know the depravity and brokenness inside ......I listen to “Until Then” on my iPhone and it reminds me that all will be better someday. David, thank you for this beautiful reminder.

Your position is the most valuable in God’s eyes cause I was more blessed than ever while I was working at the jail . I used to giving out chick gospel tracts despite jail officials considering as contraband . Many times I was threatening to get fire but God was faithful . I still remember a Muslim inmate who took tracts everyday and started attending the chapel . The day he released from jail , I saw black thread necklaces dangling from his neck and I couldn’t help but tears streaming down on my face . God’s Words go out from His mouth will not return in vain but accomplish his purpose .
May God use you as His faithful servant for His kingdom and glory.

the wider you open the easiest is the sound also it does sound so wide because his voice is thin and go up a lot. You can listen Carlos Marin from il divo,he opens a lot the vowels but sounds completely different but technically is very similar.

The thing about David's voice is it is of a quality worthy to be heard by the Lord, because it is one of His finest creations. Though He delights in all our voices when our hearts are sincere, I imagine He finds great delight when David sings a song of praise. I'm grateful He lets us hear, too. David's voice sets those feel-good neurotransmitters flooding my brain, especially those clear-as-a-bell high notes. Thank You, Lord. Thank you, David.

Just when I think I have found my favorite David Phelps song I run across this gem. This brought a tear to my eye.
Stuart Hamln , who wrote " It Is No Secret What God Can Do," wrote this also. It is a song 🎵 filled with the hope of the Gospel. David puts a personal touch to it. I think he also sang this at the Brooklyn Tabernacle . Thank you David, for using your talent to entertain us and to pass on the hope found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You sing this so beautifully.

I love this old hymn!! My dad was an old time song leader, well before the days of worship leaders. He often sang this one as a solo. At his funeral in 2014 at the young age of 94, my brother sang it in honor of him. Yes, he and my mom had long lives of serving our wonderful Savior.
When I see the evil and brokenness around me I play this album which finishes with “ Until Then”. Thankfully this is not my home!!!!!🙏🙏🙏

This was one of my precious dad’s favorite songs...... and was actually sung at his funeral. He served his Lord with all of his heart and soul, and looked with joyous anticipation for that day, when God would finally call him home. Several years before he went home to be with Jesus, for all eternity, he retired from being a pastor, after 50 years of full-time ministry. And I know the Savior was waiting for him with open arms...... to tell him those words that I know he longed to hear when he came face-to-face with his Lord; “Well done...... good and faithful servant”. Thank you David, for such a beautiful rendition of this very special song! And God Bless You!!

Our dear son passed away last November, 2020 from a massive heart attack at just 50. He was profoundly deaf but admired your presentations with captions as he was a strong advocate for correct captioning so the deaf and hearing impaired could have access to the best and most important message of God's love for all. Your lovely songs have brought great comfort to us over the years downunder and especially to my wife Narelle and I,during this time of great loss and will continue to do so "Until the Day God calls us home". Oh I love this! I have this on my CD hymnal from David Phelps and it is one of my favorites!

Did I say on here before that I was the one you came down and sang to on September 29, 2017 ? What a thrill for this old lady! And I am sure that woman was thrilled about there too. We phans are like that!
My husband went to his “forever home” in May 2019. This was one ☝️ of his many favorites. And David does it like no one else (especially my husband 😉). But I can’t help wondering why the second verse isn’t sung. It is so relevant. Here goes: “This weary world with all it’s toll of of misery and struggle, May take it’s toll of misery and strife, the soul of man is like a waiting falcon, When it’s released, it’s destined for the skies”. And after that quote he recited the chorus.
