I loved him soon after I'd closed the cover on his first book. Irreverent, self proclaimed food pornster, funny, honest yet covertly enigmatic, this guy wrote like he was talking to me, -much like JD Salinger. There was so much more of him left..but the self loathing caught up with him. Love you Mr Bourdain. Thank you for all of it. I'll miss u.

Don't think "self loathing " did him in. Some say he was "world weary". Not really. I don't think that at all. It was just a bad moment and judgement in time... That's it, quick. Because he's like you; he's like me. We live our passionate lives as best we can. I like your "handle": "normal woman". There's a lot in that. Take care while we bleed... alone.

He saw too much suffering and never believed he deserved all of the pomp and circumstance he received, while others in this world were needy and starving. He was a suffering, bleeding heart liberal with a severe mood problem among other diagnoses. I followed him to a fault. Such an inferiority complex! Yes there was self loathing involved!
I miss him too, sarcasm, warts et al . .

Did you catch how he said he felt guilty about the daughter? And everyone wants to blame his death on the Italian actress. Yes, she was a piece of work and he admitted it wouldn't end well, but i think it was much deeper than just that.

I will never forget Anthony Bourdain. I enjoyed his sardonic wit, intelligent overviews, explorer of cultures & cuisines from afar. I am listening to him say now, "I didn't F**k it all up". But yes he did on that fateful day or night he chose to leave us. So suddenly and unexpectantly. RIP Tony. Forever to be your fan. I really cared...

I met him once. On Long Beach Island NJ. We were 14. It was at a party house. He smoking pot. Me trying to avoid that. He had crazy hair and talked a mile a minute. Saw him on the beach. I thought he was a crazy kid. Fly among the universe now you don’t have to eat at all!

Tony's view on food goes beyond, which involves culture, history, people and everything that's behind it and in my opinion that's what separates Tony from the rest of Chef crowd...personality wise, he was everything I personally wanna be and it's too bad there is not too many of Tony around...

"Boo Day Chee Gay"(Budae Chigae-부대찌개) is the closest transliteration i can do...Bu Day=Army Chee Gay=Stew. First made by Koreans who worked on US Army bases, they would use the leftovers from cooking American food and add kimchi and instant noodles etc. to it. For awhile when President Johnson came they called it "Johnson Tang" Tang meaning "soup". peace.

I wish someone would just say “don’t want to get personal but, how are you emotionally and depression?” I really wish someone would ask. It’s always people ask “what’s the place to eat?” Or the show etc.... what about asking “how are you doing?” :(

Rasha Hassan he was always a very honest person. In parts unknown he did see a therapist and openly talk about his struggles. I think if someone asked about he. He would say how he was feeling. I’m the same way. I don’t hold anything back I can relate to him in many ways. My personality is exactly like his.

Watch his hands. Watch his legs. I believe he had early Parkinson’s disease. I’ve never seen him rely on someone else to help him remember. Look at her demeanor, she seems to be guarded. I think everyone knew something was wrong with him. I miss him so and mourned while searching for a reason why. I think I’ve found it. And yes, a diagnosis like that would be accompanied by depression. The world is a lesser place without him.
