I think you forgot to add that you can't change weight classes, have no robes, become undisputed and you're not announced as the undisputed champ. Announces take no note of a rematch, trilogy, there's no messages of anybody challenging you. I mean I can go on and on We are comparing the game to a game from two gens ago and it still subpar compared to that.
It's a good game but has stamina and desink online issues. An update or two would make this game top tier. For there first game not bad just need some tender loving care.
I don't think that a simple update or two would fix this game. It still has major head movement and defense issues, shot placement issues, hit detection issues, a few bad animations, bad commentary, mid career, caf stat cap, cat cap, and quite a bit presentation issues.
This game is actually fun the more I play it and actually learn the mechanics… one word of advice if you want to enjoy a boxing game learn how to fight like a boxer, don’t just go out spamming punches but be strategic. Don’t get me wrong it needs polishing but still enjoyable
Olympic point boxing tho. Game inputs reads body shots and body jabs is beyond pointless anyway. The power punches are so unsatisfying and the 1-2 are shit. Horrible boxing game
This game is unfinished. I won’t insult it or its developers because they tried and wanted to make a true boxing simulator. To start, the game doesn’t punish spamming power punches. The opponent just runs around and spams power punches. On top of that, they introduced a new feature, ‘loose movements,’ which has never been seen in boxing games before. However, people started using it not for strategic gameplay, but to quickly cut off angles, close the distance, and spam power punches using the game’s unfinished mechanics. No matter how well you play, how much you understand boxing, or how closely you follow the techniques, in the end, you’ll lose. Secondly, there’s no penalty for missing punches. The opponent can swing for eight rounds straight without losing stamina or movement speed. They also use animations to prevent you from counterattacking. They throw a power punch, followed by a series of normal punches. In real life, could you really run around the ring like a madman, throwing power punches over and over? Thirdly, when the opponent realizes they’re losing, they just quit the game, and it shows up as a connection error on your end. They don’t get a loss, and you don’t get a win. You’re left frustrated because you’ve wasted your time and effort to win the fight, but the opponent just quit. You’re sitting there upset, while your former opponent is already in another match. That’s why some players have records of 156-3… The game has potential, but a lot needs to be fixed. I hope the developers will work on this, especially since the game was released at full price.
Excellent review and the absolute truth. The game at end looks awsome. Man if they can produce this game and it actually the same as that clip it will take over UFC. The movements and angels and speed is what undisputed should of looked lik. It makes undisputed and the great fight night look like arcades games from 1980s.
its season zero and SCI updates are perpetual. the review above is correct about punching while dodging at the same time, and the invisible wall. there are many mechanics missing from real life.
I was kind of shocked that they did not have no type of practice mode to where you set up a dummy to do certain moves to learn how to faint or counter them
Finally someone who knows what they're talking about. Tired of other creators gas💡us about this game being better than FNC. Theres a lot of things i can mention but i would have to write a book. One thing ive noticed is that this game feels like it has a comeback mechanic. Its like Mario Kart. If you're whooping someone bad itll kick in and theyll almost always get lucky stuns off 1 punch. It happens way too often to be a coincidence.
Thanks. I just make UA-cam vids as a hobby. I'm not getting paid or endorsed by game companies like lots of Content Creators. The game does seem to have some hidden mechanics. I have noticed getting dazed outta no where when I'm winning a fight.
I’d say the gameplay is overall more realistic than fight night champion in terms of boxing. It’s important to know that this is not the final release of undisputed. It’s just the 1.0 version and the game is still in development. Sci does listen to the community more than other companies, so I think after a few updates the gameplay should be balanced more and provide an even better experience.
By the time the devs have done enough to get this game to a point people want to buy it ea will have made a new fight night and with the money they have behind them it will wipe the floor over this game.
I remember Fight Night needing patches and updates for it to become what it's turned out to be. Players were complaining about the lack of damage, cuts and online play etc and eventually EA patched and updated the game over time. You could see FNC was rushed to meet the release date. I'm sure given time, just like EA, SCI will attempt to address issues. It's a lot better than FNC in terms or representation of the sport and the boxers in the game.
@@YellowPlagueProductions As much as I enjoy FNC, Undisputed's boxing and the boxers look much better and I'm sure once all the Undisputed tweaks, DLC and the updates are in we're see a even better game.
I miss the fight night series. I really want a boxing game but this is £60 on the store and I don’t feel like paying that. I’m tempted to try UFC 5 instead
All the issues before the “final” should have been free of charge, you guys were testing for them and paying to do so. Also the fact that so many people are debating if it’s as good as fight night from the the xbox360 means it’s not good enough, simple. Imagine any other sports game coming out 13 years later and the difference is unquestionable.
It will never be a “real” boxing sim until boxers can completely circle around each other instead of being stuck on one side or the other while the stupid camera swings around. lol It also needs a good cinematic overhead camera that pans around slower as well. The overall presentation is lacking to say the least. The beta gameplay online was much better than the release.
I'm sorry in actual boxing when you counter somebody's punch it's after a Perry it's not during it does have a lot of work it needs was really excited and got into it for the first few days but it got to the point where everybody is just taking advantage of the messed up mechanics that's pretty much only enjoyable when you run against somebody that's actually trying to play technical but there's still holes in that
No it's not. Not better then fight night well not for solo play. You can't change weight classes in career mode that's a try killer it like they made this game just for o line fight thats it an that's shaky
As someone who waited anxiously for this game, I can say, this game sucks. A huge part of me thinks they’re not going to be able to change much. A few bug fixes in December is not going to change the game enough to make it good.
I sadly agree. They'll probably just tweak the stats to make Wilder weaker and add DLC fighters or arenas. I can't see them changing anything about the actual gameplay outside of maybe getting rid of the invisible wall between the fighters, but I doubt they'll even do that.
Idk if they ran out of money. I remember hearing that they got a multi million dollar deal with the rich Saudis. To me, I think the devs are just in over their heads. Apparently, this is the very first game that they made. They're just a buncha regular dudes that wanted to make a boxing game cus they liked boxing. They watched some Unity Tutorial vids on UA-cam and decided to make a game. A lot of the punch animations are free/purchasable on the Unity Asset store. They just lack the skill and programming experience to make a better game. This is probably all they're capable of doing. The Patch coming in December, is really just a nerf for Wilder's punching power. I don't remember them addressing any of the REAL issues that the game has. They probably won't make any fixes to the game outside of making fighters stronger/weaker.
This game is so unpolished and they are not patching it. That makes me want to buy it. I'm sick of this overpriced crap. The presentation of this game is also bad. WHERE IS THE REF!
When you throw it straight two it takes your head off the centerline. I’m hoping that you understand Boxing and knowing how punches take your head off the centerline.
Have you actually played the game? While it's true that your head goes off the centerline when you throw a straight, the fighter doesn't take his head off the centerline enough in the game to avoid getting hit. If 2 fighters throw straight punches at each other, they will both get hit in the face. There is a slip mechanic in the game that you can use to dodge punches, but you can't slip and punch at the same time. The punch animation comes out after the fighters returns back to neutral from the slip animation. This is what my issue is with in regards to the centerline. You can't dodge and punch at the same time.
You're right. It's essentially the same as the early access build from Feb 2024. Just some new punch animations and sound efx and removal of Ryan Garcia.
It's no longer in Early Access. It just had its "full release." I know they plan on updating the game with patches for their upcoming Seasons etc, and I will make update vids when that happens. But this review is for the state that it's currently in for the "full release." In regards to "evolving" the only evolution the game had in the past 8 months was a few new punch animations and better sound effects. The core issues of the game from Early Access are still here.
This game was named esports boxing and was up for early access on steam back in late 2019. After a long shit storm and a name change it was released for early access broken as fuck lol. This game is a complete mess
